Thanks again for listening, Brad! I had kinda underestimated this one to be honest xD . It's a long trailer, with a lot of distinct segments. But, fortunately, my "trailer music covered the next day" streak is still alive! =D
@@demantim Lot of complex chords, how did you figure it out? In terms of listening to a piece and then playing it i have the most trouble with recognizing hard chords
Thanks Backpack! The downside is having to then notate it onto sheet music =P . It's a hassle, but people seem to be glad there's sheet music so I'll just keep doing it!
@@demantim have you tried automatic generation? There are some really good music sheet generators software that convert your MIDI piano playing to music sheets, with some errors that you could quickly correct afterwards, Logic Pro has a good tool for that
I just wanted to say thank you for making these songs, you have been a source of inspiration for several years now Zelda music has a distinct feeling that you capture very well :)
I could definitely hear a difference between this trailer's music and the one's we've gotten before. They weren't hiding anything this time, going full out! And so were you, amazing work!
This is incredible! Your cover of the cinematic trailer for breath of the wild, however many years ago that was, was one of the first pieces I picked up when I first started learning the piano, and now it feels like we've come full circle with this one! Fantastic job, and thank you for providing us with all these amazing covers for all these years
Something about 2:10 makes me feel like this adventure is coming close to the end of the story for zelda. If the timeline loop is correct, we could be seeing a whole new timeline. That would be awesome.
I love you work, de Man, keep doing your best, brother. All I wanted to say is that saxophone in the trailer was brilliant in so many ways, I'm still struggling to explain why the sax just makes so much sense, it was so fun and unexpected but at the same time was never out of place. Pretty amazing trailer music magic.
@@demantim It sure was. It was cheesy and cool at the same time. There better be sunglasses in the game, that saxophone was absolutely magical. So bold and confident, ol Nintendo still knows how to trick a fella outta his money. God bless you and your family, de Man, I really appreciate your work.
@Tim de Man - Game Music It sounds like it! What are your thoughts about the theme we hear in the first trailer towards the end, along with Ganondorf's theme? Do you believe they both for Ganondorf or perhaps Demise is the skeleton we see?
@@demantim It's just strange that scene we get with the long hair and the Ganondorf we see in the game doesn't have long hair... hopefully we'll learn more when the game releases!
Even though there's a good chance of this theme not playing in the actual game, the song itself is beautiful. It takes the main Zelda theme, but brings in the melody of BotW's main theme, Hyrule Castle's theme, and Ganondorf's main theme. If anything, the song alone probably makes this trailer my favorite out of the two "BotW/TotK" story trailers. My favorite parts are either when the BotW theme starts to kick in in a slower and more somber tone, or when the Erhu kicks in when Link is on the flying machine, with the trailer just ramping up as it keeps showing more and more of his own actions in the game world. I also noticed in the shots where the BotW theme plays, it's Link re-exploring the original areas from the game, and instead of making use of his new abilities, he's just doing things like climbing, gliding, and running around, whilst the erhu kicks in when Link is doing more of the new stuff, and when they start to show off the new features.
Yeah, they're being very clever with quoting BotW's sound and melodies when Link is exploring on the surface. It was something I noticed during the Gameplay Demonstration as well! I think they quote BotW's main theme in a very tasteful way here, and the new melodies are super expressive!
@@demantim I love how each area seems to have it's own core instrumentation. I watched your stream a bit ago where you talked about how you noticed the surface had Piano as it's instrumentation, with the skydiving theme mixing in a bit of piano at the end when Link is about to hit the ground. Then it seems the skies above Hyrule have woodwinds or Sax. I wonder what the underground area's main instrument will end up being.
So quick! Great rendition of one of the best trailers I've ever seen. Also looking forward to hear what you think about the music and all the weird but delightful stuff it got going
That was incredibly fast on the draw, and wonderful to listen to! You can hear all kinds of themes throughout the song, such as Zelda's lullaby, the Castle theme, Ganon's theme, the Main Zelda overworld theme, Breath of The Wild's main theme, as well as bits and pieces of Hyrule Warriors too!
I’ve been listening to this while studying every single day for the past month and it still gives me chills. The mailman is on his way right now with the game, at long long last

All the work on your channel (or at least the ones I've heard on spotify) has inspired me to continue making more Zelda music arrangements on my guitar again!! Seeing what you can do has inspired me to play some songs that may have been at first musicially challenging for me, but I'm working around it, my goal is to always capture the effect of the song in how we interpret it, in the best way possible and I see that in your piece of work, especially in this one!! Amazing work Tim, and thank you so much for inspiring and motivating me to push through my limits. You're playing is very beautiful, and I hope you continue to play and enjoy what you love and do best!!!
Also Zelda's lullaby, just three damn notes at the end. Absolute legend of a trailer soundtrack. You did it justice. For anyone who appreciates music composition, this is so layered. Glad I stumbled upon it. Makes me want to finally learn piano!
