    Where’s the 3d? I’ll give ya manual mode…but that is not 3d(0 pitch at mid stick at constant rpm) does it have a throttle hold switch? Idle up? If your truly interested in RC helicopters skip this…get yourself something that is setup properly…trex, sab goblin, eflite blade (good beginner). How are parts availability, it’s not a drone, 1st crash and likely need new main shaft, feathering shaft, blades…most likely will strip servo gears. Irresponsible to push this junk without all the info on what it entails. One guy’s opinion…cheers.

      Are you new to Helicopters??? So on a helicopter that advertizes 3D it simply means it takes it out of 6G mode and allows you full control of the helicopter. Yup the head spin goes way up so that you can flip it, roll it, tic tock it, whatever you desire. Now that comes down to the abilities of the pilot. Jedi Steve just did simple flips and rolls with it. As for beginners... Super Safe heli when flown in GPS mode.

    • @theflyinggrip
      @theflyinggrip ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 No, not new to heli’s, been flying them since the TT Raptor Nitro days, then on to Align,SAB, MA etc. Just because GPS came along, doesn’t mean we get to make up advertising terms. The 3D mode I bought into changes everything about the control…when in a idle up condition it maintains a constant rpm, and changes how the throttle/collective stick functions. In “normal” throttle is close or linear from 0-100 with a few degrees negative pitch up to 12-15 positive (you cannot fly inverted) flipping into idle up should increased constant rpm and give you neuatral “0 Deg” of pitch at mid stick, with even throw negative and positive…allowing 3d flight. I get some of its just lingo and terminology at this point…each their own. My opinion, nothing about heli’s is beginner at that scale. It can be incredibly expensive and that control setup is teaching bad habits. You don’t rely on gps to learn control of an aircraft! What happens if the tail rotor goes out, can it autorotate without a tail “motor” instead of belt or tube driven tails, genuinely curious how that works?

      Hi Captain Drone. So I think I've watched on your videos on the FWL450 V3. So much so I bought one and it just arrived. Looking forward to getting it up to the field this weekend, weather permitting as I'm in Ireland, rain and more rain.
      Might I ask is it ready to fly out of the box? Will it go inverted it I go 30 ft + etc. on the flick of a switch like in the videos or do I need to programme it?
      Also I noticed the batteries I got were BT5000-74 with 5000 mAh and with the charger supplied its taking 8 hours just to get up to 75% charged. Am I doing something wrong here, please be patient I'm a newbie and still learning and looking forward to your next review.
      Kr,
      Marc.

      @@marctron100 Out of the box, it flies in GPS and Manual mode, but not inverted. After you have flown it for awhile, you can attach the USB cable to the flight controller and then in the software (you download from FLY WING) you can enable inverted mode. The reason your charge is taking so long is because for the price, you certainly do not get an RC Hobby charger. People in the RC hobby that run RC Cars, Boats, Planes, FPV Drones, Helicopters all own one or more RC Chargers. If you wish to charge up a battery in under an hour you'll need one (I've reviewed plenty), but make sure you understand how to use one (I have a video on how to do just that).

When you want to get into the air, look at the blade line from eflite…they offer many different models in price, size, and skill level all intended to get you in the air and help you learn to stay there. They offer normalized controls, easily available spare parts at most decent local and online hobby shops. A all around better experience and product than what is in this review. Happy flying…cheers!

      I'd recommend an omphobby m1 for a beginner. Even though this has GPS and lots of goodies, its really big and dangerous. Too many regulations on top for heavy UAVs. If you crash, it means lots of time fixing and very expensive. Just Trust me on the omphobby m1. Wish I'd have started with this years ago

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ray, yes it is super simple to fly due to the GPS tuning. If you have no skills other than flying a GPS drone like that from DJI, Autel or Hubsan, then this would be simple to fly. All beginners should always fly with the TAIL facing them and the NOSE pointing away so that the orientation of the joysticks is not confusing. When you get lost, just hit Return To Home and the Heli comes back to land. Now if you switch it to 3D Manual Mode, you will crash it because you need more of an FPV Drone background to fly in that mode so that your hand/eye coordination is top notch.

    Question please if anyone knows? I have a brand new 450L V3 not flown yet, I'm not interested in 'auto invert' type things, and the manual says to install tail, blades etc. then get ready to fly, wait until GPS is locked, then fly. It's says nothing about doing a 'compass calibration' before flying it in the manual. Then the last 2 pages, says about unlocking or turning on the 'auto invert' function, and doing a 'compass calibration' It's not clear, but seems to me we don't need to calibrate the compass unless we want to use advances settings like auto invert. Why does the manual tell to set it up & fly, then only mention compass calibration at the end in the auto invert enable section? When new, can we just fly it in GPS & free fly mode without doing a compass calibration? I can do a compass calibration, but reading the manual, it doesn't seem I need to unless I wanted to later unlock the advanced features. Other than the manual, I can't find any info on this, thanks to anyone that can help. In another video, it's different, shows the green light on, then the guy holding the heli turns 360* and if the light stays green, the compass is calibrated, and then OK to fly. That's a lot more simple than downloading software & hooking up to computer.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Didn’t I mention it in the video? You take the heli outside (you can leave the blades off if you wish). Set the radio up as if you were going to fly in GPS, power everything on and if you see a green light on the heli flight controller all is well. If you see a red light, you need to do a compass calibration. The invert feature is turned off by default for newbies. You turn it on be going into the software.

    • @HeRacesTheSun
      @HeRacesTheSun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for your reply, much appreciated! I re-watched your video, and @6:40 you talk about GPS blinking green, then when it gets solid green, good to fly. And a red light means it needs compass calibration. The reason I asked you & others about this is that in articles, TH-cam's & Facebook posts, there is so much conflicting info about this, have seen many others with the same new heli as ours, hooking it up to their computers doing compass calibrations before their first flights. What also helped me is just yesterday, Fly Wing itself put up a new TH-cam video, it shows the heli blinking green, then GPS locked solid green, then a guy picks it up holding it chest high, and while watching the solid green light, he slowly turns in a 360* circle, and if the light stays solid green in the whole turn, then it verifies the compass is properly calibrated and is good to fly. Here is the new Fly Wing video on this (And seems a good idea to do the 360* turn first, especially when I take my heli to a different location to fly it there) ... th-cam.com/video/DTzp3-VNp4k/w-d-xo.html @@CAPTAINDRONE798
