Love this. It was very helpful, especially using the anchor chart and working backwards to plan how the steps should appear. 😊. Also, super excited for the book launch!
Woo! That's wonderful! Thank you so much for watching and commenting Christine! I'm happy it was helpful for you and thank you for all your kind words about my book launch... I can't wait either! 🥰🖤
Glad to see that you gave a shout-out to the library media center. We librarians are often the techies in the building (lacking technology teachers at the elementary level) I know I teach how to use all the Google apps, as well as coding, etc.
Love this! I always learn so much from your tutorials. = ) I have to tell you that it might sound so basic but I think of you everytime I hit shift and enlarge or adjust the size an image in google slides. That trick alone has been life changing! = ) Additionally, I am so happy for you that you made the transition to do this full time. I can tell that you are physically healthier and your arms look so nice and toned. = ) As a teacher my self-care has gone to the wayside in the last year and seeing you glowing and healthy inspire me to take back control and put my health first. = ) Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. = )
To be honest, my Google Slides skills are pretty weak, so this is a very helpful video. I love the clear explanations and I know that students would also be excited to try out these strategies. Thanks for all that you do, and have a fantastic week! 💜
You don't give yourself enough credit Mandy... I doubt they are as weak as you think! But, I appreciate you watching and commenting as always 🥰🖤 I hope you're having a great weekend and get lots of rest! You deserve it lady!
This is very useful! If I were one of Google's workers, I would another option that would say "By line" just how you did the "By paragraph". "By line" that would be mean each would be animated but of course if there are in the same text box.
I use animations to model exchanging coins, and to model regrouping. Example: I make 5 pennies “fly out to right” and a nickel “fly in from right.” It’s great! Or I have 10 ones (simple squares) fade out and 1 ten (a long thin rectangle) fade in.
I love your ideas can you share a slide on fractions so I can have an idea of how to make my slides. You are making my life as a first year teacher smoother and smoother 🥰👍
How is it that you always teach me something new?!?! I am a powerpoint girl. I use it everyday for everything, but I also use Slides as well, especially when creating digital info gap activities for my students to use. Here I am thinking, what else could I possibly learn about animations? Well, you of course taught me new hacks! The with previous and after previous, I did not know about and will be such a game changer for me! When you spoke of the stop animation, I was like, oh I know this, but of COURSE, I learned another new trick. I have used the stop animation in Google Slides to create a gif out of my bitmoji to add to my Google Classroom header. I would make my bitmoji do cartwheels across the banner or just run in etc. However, I did not know that I could create this type of animation and create a link that I could share with my students. This will be so helpful, especially when I teach new material, so once again THANK YOU! I know I have asked this before, but could one of your future videos be on graphic design tips? You are so talented with that stuff that I am sure you will have so much valuable information to share. Have a great week!
Aww, yay! I love hearing that I was able to help you learn a new thing or two. Google Slides definitely doesn't have as many options as PowerPoint when it comes to animations, but as I mentioned, you can still do plenty with them! That's such a cute way to use the stop animation... I love it! You're so welcome and I appreciate you watching and commenting as always! I'll definitely consider adding in more on graphic design in the future, but it's just something I kind of have an eye for so I'm not sure how much I'd really have to offer. But, have a great rest of your weekend as well! 🥰🖤
Is there any way to get the equation feature in Google Slides that is available in Google Docs? I usually use slides to make worksheets because there are more editing options, but I often have to type equations in Docs and take screenshots to get them into Slides. Is there a better way to do this?
Unfortunately there isn't a better way... BUT, I recently spoke with someone at Google Edu and they do listen to feedback so I would suggest submitting this idea to Google because they read every piece of feedback they receive! If more people submit an idea, it has a better chance of being added as a feature.
Thank you for an awesome video. I created a memory concentration game a week ago, and I animated each word, however when I clicked on slideshow and clicked on random words, the words were being flipped over in order starting with the beginning. Not sure if I am doing it correctly or if can even be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to your Friday videos.
Hi Shelby! Thank you so much for commenting! To help answer your question, I would need a little clarification. Are you trying to animate the word so when you click on it, that word will flip over? If so, you can only control the animation to occur in a specific order. You aren't able to animate words/images so they disappear when you click directly on them... the animation would be pre-determined by the order of the animations that you set. However, I'd recommend checking out flippity.net to create a matching game that will allow you to do what you're looking for!

Will this work if I add the slide to a video?

Thank you for watching!
Tell me why I only discovered animations as a COLLEGE SENIOR a few years ago. 😅 Never too late, right?
Hahaha, it's definitely never too late! Hopefully this helped give you some ideas! 🥰🖤

I still feel that google slides animation is lacking a ton if compared to PPT animations (even super old PPT)
I completely agree! There's definitely room for improvement!
ı like you

What kind of question is this? 🧐
