As as Spanish person passionate about our music I got to say; this man gets it! It’s not only about the lyrics and the music but the heart that goes into these performances. Marc is not only singing, he is talking to us. And to cover a song made by a legend is very courageous.

Mark Anthony started singing as treatment to his stutter when he has a kid
He has a song called “Preciosa” about Puerto Rico. Great lyrics and amazing emotion. He was a big Juan Gabriel fan. He has other interpretations of Juan Gabriel songs. Including Abrázame Muy Fuerte. He broke down in tears on stage his first concert after Juan Gabriel’s passing. Very emotional person.

When Juan Gabriel passed Marc Anthony was truly hurt, This song was the song that put Marc Anthony in the place that he is now. Marc was into electronic music before he did the version of Juan Gabriel’s song in salsa. He later continued to perform other songs of Juanga and in interviews he always talks wonders about Juan Gabriel.

Andy, that song, Hasta Te Conocí was written by Juan Gabriel to his mother, people don't know that. She abandoned him and after meeting her years later, when he was an adult, he wrote the song to her.
