@@DonVon I love lots of his compositions but one of my favorites is, “yo no nací para amar” I wasn’t born to love”
This man falls into the category of a Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Bruce Lee, Michael Jordan, etc...a once in a lifetime talent. Often imitated, never ever duplicated. The innovator of many other careers in music, the one and only, the late, great, Juan Gabriel.
You gotta check out, " Amor eterno" and get that translation handy. But,beware,it is a tear jerker.
💯💯💯💯
i think Michael Jackson is the only one you can compare to
Yes sir
The one and only, nobody like him
The sad part about this song is that it's dedicated to his mother, who abandonded him at an orphanage, and whenever she would visit, he would realize what a cruel person she was. One of his best songs, that sadly, hides a very dark story.
❤
You are mistaken the song, this is not about her mother. The one you are talking about is Amor Eterno.
No sir. It is about his mother.
The song is not about his mother.
“It was released in 1986 as the third single from his studio album Pensamientos. Written and produced by Gabriel, the song's lyrics focus on a protagonist learning the meaning of suffering after meeting a lover who mistreats him.”
The song written for his mother after her passing is: Amor Eterno.
“Juan Gabriel wrote “Amor Eterno” as a “prayer of love” for his mother, who died when the artist was in his 20s and just starting his career as a musician.”
I had no clue that this song was about that, wow.
I’m Dominican and we all love Juan Gabriel we will never get this kind of showmanship ever again! The earth is 4.543 billion old and we were blessed to live in the Juan Gabriel era! 🇩🇴❤️🇲🇽

One of Mexico greatest artists. There will never ever be another Juan Gabriel. He is a Luther, James Brown, Barry White and Baby Face rolled into one. She wasn’t right for him. Marc Anthony remade this song
I’m a white girl and I even know who Juan Gabriel is. Listening to him sing this gives me goosebumps. RIP
You have no idea how powerful his music is. Sadly, he’s passed away but left us with so many songs and great memories.
I’m Cuban but Juan Gabriel was unique. My mother never missed a Juan Gabriel’s concert, more than 1.500 songs wrote, one of the best musician and singers around the world. Anytime I listen to Juan Gabriel I feel my mother so close like she never gone

I love your reaction!! Juan Gabriel is pretty much the King of Mexico, RIP. When he passed away, Mexico shut DOWN. The streets were shut down, nobody went to work, it was really hard.
This concert was at the Palacio de Bella Artes, which is like our Carnigie Hall. It is a very proper place. So for him to have people up and out of their chairs dancing, was really something.
This song says that he was really happy in his life until he met this woman and after he met her is when he began to suffer because she treated him badly.
Please check out Amor Eterno by Juan Gabriel because that song will make you feel a way. Thanks for the video! Looking forward to more.

I’m Colombian and I was brought up listening to the great singers in the Latin world; and he’s one of the them. Juan Grabriel from Mexico to the world and the universe.
I’m from Texas Latina and so so proud to meeting Juan Gabriel in person at the historic La Posada Hotel in Laredo Texas. He was so humble and polite. He was caring and loving to all his followers. Donated millions of dollars to the homeless kids and so many other institutions. His music was and is incredible and his performances were absolutely amazing. He lives in the hearts of millions of Hispanics. Thank you for acknowledging his God given talent. Juan Gabriel is Mexico’s #1 talent.
this man came from being impoverished to one of the most philanthropic people that kept a low profile. He funded orphanages, homes for the poor and many other acts of kindness. He adopted a child that lived like a king. He wrote his songs and gave away many to other artists. he was truly special.

Juan Gabriel IS (and I say IS, because he will live forever in our hearts), the greatest singer-songwriter México has ever had. All of his songs are so beautifully written and his performance was always the best!
I absolutely love his songs. The guy was one of the most talented artists in Latin America. Amazing composer, song writer, performer, and his voice was so uniquely beautiful. Thanks for playing his song!
He is considered one of the most successful artists in Latin America, as well as one of the best composers and best-known figures in the musical world within Mexico. His total sales are estimated at more than 150 million copies worldwide. , making him one of the artists with the highest record sales in history. His work encompasses more than 1,800 compositions that have been translated into languages as diverse as Turkish, German, French, Italian, Tagalog, Japanese, Greek, Papiamento, Portuguese, and English and performed by more than 1,500 artists and groups around the world, for making him the most sung and covered Hispanic composer worldwide.

Juan Gabriel makes any grown ass person cry. Never went to any of his concerts because as a juvenile this kind of music didn't interest me, but now i see his live performances and you can tell right away that its a privilege to see him sing.
Loved your reaction. As a Mexican American, I grew up listening to his music. He is a true legend, and your reaction is humbling.
Thx you
I start listening to Juan because of my mom, she loved his passion for singing. My mom passed 3 months ago at her wake my niece sang "Amor Eterno" she had the whole room in tears. She was so loved by all, missing her terribly 😭

Your comment made my eyes water because my parents both would bump this when I was a kid and my passed away in 2019 she was only 60 and my dad passed in 2021 , the music and food is something that ties me to them as long as I’m alive
Reading both y'all comments put a knot in my throat and tear in my eyes. Mom is still alive and well and have heard this song with her many times. And always makes me reflect on how it will feel to lose her. She's 67 years old and pray she'll be with us many years more.
Am so sorry for your loss I just lost my mom 2 months ago🙏🏼🙏🏼
QEPD, that song will split your heart in 2 and if she managed to actually finish the song it’s only because the tears have all been cried out.
There will never be another talent like Juan Gabriel!
He is my mom’s cousin…a Bustamante... My mother is an Arellano… Love you ❤❤❤ Outstanding!
The king!
Even in a country full of homophobia, there is not a single person who is not moved by his songs. One of the best ❤
Totally agree with you.........
Word!
Correction; México could be machist but homofobic is a very horrible word! We use to make tons of jokes of homo but that's nothing more than the way mexicans use to laugh of everything, even the death suffers the mexican humor. In Mexico we use to practice funeral rites at home and all we know how much we use to tell funny hiistories and jokes, obviously not in the presence of the loved one in his coffin but in the yard, under the light of lamps and next to a bonfire, sometimes playing a guitar with the favourite songs of the one that is being honored bc he or she are going back home

Im really sorry for the new generations that they will never experience a live concert with this INCREDIBLE singer.
Its the Quality, the banter he has with the public, the emotion, he had a truly blessed voice.
Yes I saw him in concert for 3 hours. He wanted to go more. But the venue closing at 12 mid.
Yes he was the biggest deal in Mexican music since the 70' s singing ballads and writing many songs for the best singers with Mariachi as well as you can hear in this song. He was our most precious treasure. No one gave a show as good as him.❤
One of the most beloved man in Mexico and Latino America. Once in a life time, generational talent representing Mexico everywhere he went. April 3,2024 and I'm still jamming to his music like my parents were when I was just a young boy.

I’m Cuban and remember my mother listening to Juan Gabriel growing up, also Jose Jose and others. He is an exceptional talent. Mexico has produced tremendous signers like Vicente Fernandez, Luis Miguel, Angelica Maria, Pedro Infante, Lola Beltran, and many others including my favorite Javier Solis. My favorite Cuban singer is Beny More, not as well known but was an amazing singer.
I’ve listened to Juan Gabriel all my life because of my mom. He was the greatest singer of all time. His voice still gives me goosebumps all the time. I felt it even more when he broke my heart. And YES Spanish is the language of love. You just don’t feel the “cultura Mexicana” you live it. Que Viva Mexico!!!! 🇲🇽 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
As a Gabriel admirer, I am informed and corrected by other commenters who better know Juan's history. He was loved as a child, and happy until he was abandoned by his mother, and experienced insecurity and, in my opinion, childhood trauma, before his success. The song speaks of betrayal that occurs with both family and others in one's life.
Juan Gabriel's flair, drama, sexuality and sensual pride were monumental!
He's a national treasure, a human force, a Mexican icon and singular in the universe.
El Tiene una serie y en realidad no se dirije a un amante si no a su madre... Por lo que vivió su vida entera y los sufrimientos por que ella tubo miedo y lo abandono

Juanga is a Worldwide LEGEND
He is one of the greatest. He dreamed of performing in that venue since the start of his career: Palacio de Bellas Artes. At the beginning they wouldn't let him because it is a museum & venue for classical music or theatre plays. This was the time he finally achieved to be there. Don't know how many years later. Of course he was going to throw the greatest party for everyone. When he passed, his funeral was held there too, as an icon. We DO love him!!! ¡Y viva México! 🇲🇽

I love his songs "No Tengo Dinero", "Amor Eterno", "Querida" and my all time favorite is "Siempre En Mi Mente". 💖🎶
Daaaang this is crazy! I'm excited to see that people that don't even understand Spanish can still feel the power of our Mexican music.

I grew up with Juan Gabriel music as a child. A legend and so humble. When he died we as the mexican and hispanic community mourn greatly!
This entire concert is ICONIC, he even ran it back with national orchestra of Mexico for other live concerts as he aged and got older and they were golden as well
He made the list on The Rolling Stones top vocalist of all time. He’s an icon. Check out videos on TH-cam of him and Rocio Durcal. Also, I recommend Juan Gabriel’s Abrazeme Muy Fuerte at Bella Artes.
