What's more impressive to me is how well it runs on Xbox 360 even when playing split screen. I remember playing l4d2 like that was annoying and made it harder in a way, but here it only made things better

a got platinum and all dlc 100% on ps3 but i really did not enjoy this game. it's no real evil feeling anymore, to me a game that you surely can pass by.
1:02 I'm not sure if the remaster devs have ever been outside or not, but shadows are not that clear. The further away an object is, the shadow will be less sharp, like the shadow from a tree. ps3 looks better. It's a case of just because you can make the shadows clearer with the power of a console jump, doesn't mean you should.
This was one of the first games i bought for the PS3 years ago and recently picked up the PS4 version as it was so cheap. Enjoying it on the PS4 just as much as i did on the PS3. The Graphics still hold up well even on PS3 imo

Pretty much the same, I don't think you need to buy it again if already have it on PS3. Still, it has all the DLCs so it could be a good deal if you already don't have them
The ps4 version is 90% sharper than the ps3 version ,try adjusting the tvs sharp setting to achieve (not exactly the same) but similar quality..*Note* not all tvs support the settings that are achievable due to consumer grade quality...

Correct. Sharpness or blurriness of real life shadows depends on the distance the object casting the shadow is from the surface... Close = Sharp, Far = Blurry. GTAV PC has an awesome shadow option that simulates that very well. Like most comments say, I think the ps3 verision was good on graphics. If I'm not mistaken I believe that RE5 was the first in the series to be in 1080 hd so even then it had the best graphics in 2009. I still got it on the ps4 verision not for the upgrade but rather to continue having the old games in the current console.
I cant believe how beautiful this game looks. Ps3 and Esp PS4. People trash talk Re5 and Re6, and they do stray from the classic RE but the level details are always mind blowing, they add so much content and storyline compared to other games. I still stand by them. -i think Haiti/voodoo/zombies/spies/terrorism would of been a better place than the (backlash) Africa.

The best part of this re-release beside the graphics and 60frames per second is the MERCENARIES UNITED mode, where now you can partner BSAA Chris with Rebecca or Barry

The version of Xbox 360 would have been a better comparison because the version of Xbox 360 uses 4msaa and is very sharp, and the PS3 version uses quincunx that blurs some things.
I feel like the HD port just made it have 60fps and better shader and that's it and very very slight difference in color (Slightly Stronger Color Contrast)
Ps4 version includes move support? In Ps3 had that option and really enjoy it. :D Some ports seem lost a features that were cool, like 3D display in Uncharted 3.
Me and my best friend (Kallum) have finished this game on every difficulty, completed the speed run and upgraded all guns. Yet we continue to play it till this day, even creating challenges for our selfs (like pistol only runs). We’ve probably completed this thing over thirty times now and can’t stop! Goddamn this is so gooooood!!
It's a really simple upgrade but you can tell things are upgraded. Less blurry better shadows. It seems all they did though was bump it up to high settings. Frame rate is also higher which is good. Playing this at 60fps is so much better.

Sounds like a driver issue. I dont recall when playing the game having problems with stuttering. Do you have SLI/CF ? If Yes disable it and check if the problem is there.
SoundSelector dude, dont try and spin this on me, it has known stuttering issues on all rigs, if you dont notice it then you are just ignorant, its not a driver issue because there is legitimate slow down in the game, not just the framerate
That's sux. Capcom forgot about most ambitious and beautiful engine, their own engine Image Framework. Their RE5 and Lost Planet games had the most precious picture in the pastgen. Even now RE5 looks solid and cinematic. New games comes with Unity, UE and RE Engine. That's sux.
Up-resed and smoother FPS. No real overhaul. Not that it needed it anyway. This was my first owned RE game and I loved it. Co-op was so fun! I think having more action in it is what made me like it. In my opinion and it's only my opinion if you played this on the ps3 years ago and then play it on the ps4 now. I don't think you would notice a difference. Unless you put them side by side. but skyrim on the other hand, you can see a difference.
I own the PC version which got a nice update allowing for online COOP via Steamworks and added the missing Gold Edition content. Does RE5 PS4 allow for local COOP and have the Gold content?
No noticeable difference except for the customized camera! If you already have a PS3, don't bother buying a PS4 since most of its games are only ported from the PS3.

I prefer a full remaster like what is being done to Modern Warfare... not this higher resolution and HD textures trend. If it has to be the latter, it should be priced at half the price of a full game considering it isn't a complete rework.

For some reason its only available on the PS3 version but you were able to do a full 360 with the camera but for some reason you cant on the ps4 version

Ps3 is so powerful. The frame rate may look choppy but after an hour of gaming your eyes will readjust to the 30fps and it looks smooth again.
Resident 5 don't run in 30 fps in PS3..seems run a bit less fps

I have to say the PS3 version of RE5 still holds up pretty well despite the lower resolution, lower frame-rate, AA and shadow quality.

Yes, the game runs a stable 60fps with no drops.
The game drops to mid 50's during combat. So not a locked 60 fps.

Am I the only one fed up with these high-res shadows in modern games? Razor-sharp shadows aren't even realistic.
Shadows are more realistic on the PS3 because they don't look very sharp.

What I want to know is the framerate's performance of the PS4 version when playing two player split screen.
The only real difference is the frame rate. There's really no graphical improvement though it just looks a tiny bit less fuzy.

until there is so much graphical difference between the two graphs as much as PS3 and PS4 are perfect. the only difference that can be seen on the Playstation 4 and even the shadows and dust effects on setting the ground who are 10 % better detailed 90 % of PS3 both the graphics are wonderful #ResidentEvilUniverse!

Hey, is the split screen available in the HD version?
I prefer a full remaster like what is being done to Modern Warfare... not this higher resolution and HD textures trend. If it has to be the latter, it should be priced at half the price of a full game considering it isn't a complete rework.
recently got this on my ps4 i remember playing this game at night on my ps3!
they had nothing to do with this, I could swear RE5 is the best looking game of the past generation, or the second one.
No nowhere close. Uncharted 2 and 3, God of war (Ascension?) dark souls... Etc this game isn't even in the top 10

yeah ps3 vs ps4 re5 graphics comparison nothing to different only thing is the ps4 version offers slighty better smoother improved/enchaned grapichs you can easily tell them apart also better shading an lighting
For some reason its only available on the PS3 version but you were able to do a full 360 with the camera but for some reason you cant on the ps4 version
I like 3 compared to 4 yeah yeah yeah call me old fashioned if you like, but 4 just trys to look more real but it works against it, i really dont know what the point of it being put on a ps 4 disc is sure its hd but nevertheless it should be really a add on disc with bonus features put on it and loads of extras like art work this goes for games like last of us as well point less being put on a ps 4 disc the only up side to it is if you only own a ps 4 you should buy it more so if you have not played it before, by the way resident evil 5 was a excellent game the last actuall official resident evil game great comparism video you really can tell the difference keep them coming really good work done by the way look forward to looking for new videos
This is a game originally made and thought for those ps3 graphics, there's no point in improving them a bit.

I know that it's weird but I kinda prefer the original graphics over the more crisp ones of the PS4 version. The only thing that I would want from the HD port is the frame rate. 🙂
Joa, sind halt so Standard Remastered Sachen. Bessere Auflösung, bessere Kantenglättung, bessere Texturen und Schatten, 60fps. Ganz nett für Fans und kostet glaube auch "nur" 20€
