This was such a stunning looking game in 2009, and it still is! Beats RE6 artstyle to some extent. The PS3 version of this game was terrible, it had awful framerate issues and looked muddier compared to the 360 version, probably due to the difficulty of devs getting to know the hardware...
This game still holds up well,can't say the same to RE6 though... Still I can't believe how terrible the AI partner is at higher difficulty,he/she just stopped being helpful and then starting to be a pain in the ass,blocking your view and aim,stand right next to you doing nothing or just transformed into mindless bullet sponge partner.
I actually prefer the undependability of the AI in RE6. It takes care of itself , you dont have to be babysitting it, oposed to the terrible RE5 A.I, which makes playing on Veteran a pain in the ass in some parts, and playing Professional almost imposible.
@TheMcardarelli totally agree, RE5`s single player on professional is almost impossible (wesker-jill fight/elevator scene) and yes, RE6 A.I is waaay better, actually, is almost perfect.

The PC version has a field of view mod for it. I'm still surprised how they were able to get higher rest shadows on PS4, when the game is otherwise completely identical. Did they edit some values in the engine's coding or something? I noticed a lot of MT Framework engines have rather shoddy shadows.
Pretty sure ps4 and xone can play it at 4k too but "almost" no one has a 4k tv do use the resolution , so they went for the standard of only full HD , don't be so dense
Yeah but only 5% of pc users are able to play at 4k - plus its hard to run this game at 4k 60 - also how many people can watch the video at 4k to do the textures justice to compare - its pointless at this stage to do a vs at 4k. One last note - didn't the pc version come out a year after the ps3/360 versions. at that point the pc version was already ready remastered to some degree.

That would leave 30 million still on 1080p if those 10 million were just ps4 user's - so you see the problem, also the game doesn't really have fps problems this gen, mostly on xb1 (as with every game) - drops to the 50's - also they are using modern pc parts to show the pc version here and not what pc's were using at the time. So again you can see why we are having a problem with what your saying. It had frame rate issues on pc back in the day.

Smashing your keys on the keyboard ain´t fun at all :P! A mouse gives you a HUUUGEE advantage over joysticks when it comes to aiming, you can do a 180 quick turn shot in PC which saves your ass without a doubt, but joysticks are way more comfortable when it comes to QTEs, any joystick should do :P!
Will the PC version be updated with this FOV change as well? I have the game and would love to play it again in this drawn back field of view, I have always thought it was a little too close to the shoulder, for my liking that is.

I still remember that moment when I saw RE 5's screenshot in a gaming magazine. I was like " is that a real fucking game?" That was one hell of a graphics leap.. Nowadays there are no moments like that. Just same old stuff with minor tweaks, higher/lower frame rates. Meh!
Got a question, this was one of the Resident Evil titles I didn't get to play back in 2009 mostly because I don't have a PS3 and college life was draining most of my time and energy so now that I have a PS4 I'm planning to get it since I just finished Uncharted 4. So should I get the digital version from the PSN store or wait till 13th July for the physical copy? Disappointing at best, what about upgraded lighting model? What about better textures? I remember running this on a dual core laptop with a 7 series nvidia gpu and 4gigs of ram at 40-50 fps . I like that some comments here say PC gamers are butthurt over slightly higher res shadows and better sampled motion blur, not only does few PC gamers actually pay much attention to shadows and motion blur quality as they are the first to go, be it for performance or image quality, we also have a ton of mods that brings the game beyond anything shown here, having a console match the fidelity of a 7 year old PC game is not really something to brag about.

You forget to mention the framerate, i can clearly see that the XBOX 360 version does run with lower framerate, i guess the Remake is running with 60 fps.
It's a shame that people in charge of remastering the version for PS4 coulnd't do it better. PS4 is a very powerful console that wouldn't have any problem running a 2009 game at its max, and a true remaster version of this game should have killed pc version not be equal. To me it left the sensation that there wasn't enough money left in the budge to make a better verion.

Best coop game I've ever played back in the day this was a joy to play with friends. The whole structure of the game was amazing finding all the stars emblems and restarting game on very hard with inf rocket launchers. I'm so glad I've bought it today on series x can't wait to go home to play later today
If the "remaster" of RE4 is this phoned in, I will be passing on that as well... I didn't get RE6 remastered because I don't want to vomit in my mouth again. I am passing on RE5 remastered because I just don't care to play through it again with barely any improvements. I DID get RE1 and 0 remastered because, they are masterpieces in my opinion. RE4 was the last main series RE game to grab me. I loved it. They need to really overhaul 4 visually to make me want to play it again. Which is why I am guessing they are releasing it last, because they are hopefully working in as much polish as they can. I want it to look like, or better than, the Ultimate HD edition on PC or I will end up passing on that too.

I remember doing comparisons back in the day and the 360 had a leg up on the PS3 version with way better textures at some points.
The zoomed out angle fucks with the aiming, not sure why they chose to do that thankfully it can be changed.
Would be nice if they updated the PC versions to be able to use the newer fov without having to ini tweak the game.

You forget to mention the framerate, i can clearly see that the XBOX 360 version does run with lower framerate, i guess the Remake is running with 60 fps.

It's a shame that people in charge of remastering the version for PS4 coulnd't do it better. PS4 is a very powerful console that wouldn't have any problem running a 2009 game at its max, and a true remaster version of this game should have killed pc version not be equal. To me it left the sensation that there wasn't enough money left in the budge to make a better verion.

Best coop game I've ever played back in the day this was a joy to play with friends. The whole structure of the game was amazing finding all the stars emblems and restarting game on very hard with inf rocket launchers. I'm so glad I've bought it today on series x can't wait to go home to play later today

If the "remaster" of RE4 is this phoned in, I will be passing on that as well... I didn't get RE6 remastered because I don't want to vomit in my mouth again. I am passing on RE5 remastered because I just don't care to play through it again with barely any improvements. I DID get RE1 and 0 remastered because, they are masterpieces in my opinion. RE4 was the last main series RE game to grab me. I loved it. They need to really overhaul 4 visually to make me want to play it again. Which is why I am guessing they are releasing it last, because they are hopefully working in as much polish as they can. I want it to look like, or better than, the Ultimate HD edition on PC or I will end up passing on that too.
