Jeus, of course, knew everything (omniscient). He was completely familiar with Bach's 48 preludes and fugues, even though they didn't exist. And his essay on the origin of species was simply magical.
Ah, 1970, I’m laying on the floor reading the lyrics & singing this song from the original album cover. After, it’s time to flip to side B for the rest of this musical masterpiece. This troupe rocks. 1970 is tops.
This is such a fantastic production!! I love the fact that they chose to set it in the modern day, depicting the apostles as a group similar to Occupy! Because that was the whole point of depicting the apostles as hippies when the show first came out; it was about emphasizing the countercultural nature of the disciples! Jesus and his followers were extremely radical for their time, they were a fringe group regarded as dangerous by the establishment because of their refusal to conform and between the use of protest imagery vs the Pharisees being in fancy suits, this production does a great job of illustrating that! Also personally, I love Minchin's portrayal of Judas!! He reminds me of that one quote: "Behind every cynic is a disappointed idealist. And Forster brings such a gentle desperation to Jesus; they play off each other perfectly. Jesus is the warmth and comfort of a candle flame, while Judas is the raging wildfire destroying whatever's in its path. This is such a small detail but I love the way that Jesus is greeting all of his friends, reaching out to them, while Judas is shrugging them off, skulking like a wildcat alone. It really emphasizes the difference between the two. :) I can't wait to buy this version
Alykat. I was privileged enough to be at this performance while it was being recorded. It was a spectacular show and I thoroughly enjoyed. I brought the DVD as soon as it was released. I am even in the DVD at the end leaving the arena just after it had finished.
@@Kuntaponv Just search "Jesus Christ Superstar Musical/Concert" in TH-cam and it should be there! It's this version and cast too. It's kinda sad you can't just rent it but idk, at least it's available
I know using auto-tune is the trend nowadays even for singers who don't need it but I think the production or the audio engineer over did with Minchin.
The bread is the symbol of His body, because it is broken for us. The wine is the symbol of His blood, poured out for us ♥️ Jesus could have used many other symbols but by using the bread and the wine it gives us a simple way to remember Him every week. We can partake of those things and contemplate the scarifice He made to wash away our debt!
@@rebeccadennen7063 John 6.32-35: "..but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world. They said therefore to Him, Lord, ever give to us this bread. And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger, and he that believes on me shall never thirst at any time."

Love how Judas rolls his eyes when Jesus says this is my blood you drink.
I also noticed ,😉
Ogladam po kilka razy. Judasz niesamowity. Co za miny. I ten dziwny wysoki glos choc wolalbym nizszy...
The raw power and vulnerability of Minchin in this song is simply amazing.
You could upload this song a thousand times and I'd still listen to it every single time
Would love to have the whole show up again for easter weekend
I hope they upload it … it is like a tradition now
I caved... I bought the DVD... and the one with John Legend.... and I've owned the movie for years. I will be having a marathon for Easter 🙂
Spectacular performances and music by all involved! Spectacular work.

I really like this performance I just hate that for some reason they auto tuned minchin
in the stage version in australia Judas was played brilliantly by angry Anderson.
Лучше оригинала!!! Респект!!!

lazyness and hoping you won't find out.And as i said i have seen better then this. More then once
Notice how they have flipped it from the movie. There Judas pushed Jesus to the floor, here Jesus pushed Judas.

Luke 19:46
They are hip..THEY ARE TERRIFIC!!!!
Jesus is slightly camp here.
Why could bread be his body ?
Its a metaphor
Minchin is good.
But Anderson is the best.
autotune + twink jesus and judas
Twink Jesus is what I'm here for 🔥🔥🔥
Tim Minchin was the only great thing about this production.
The acting by Forster is sub par
Judasz ma większy talent vokalny i sceniczny niż Jezus. Takie coś nie mogło się powieść
