- This is how to fix damaged cabinet door hinges step by step. This is a very common problem with an easy soloution. These hinges are commonly found all around the world on kitchen and bathroom cabinets, cupboards, vanity and pantry. As many of these cabinets are pre made or flat pack, they are generally not very strong. Follow my simple steps to fix and repair your damaged hinges and make them stronger then new. All you need is some wall plugs / anchors, screws and a utility knife/blade

i just stuffed a broken off toothpick in the hole, and put the screw back in. worked like a charm! :)

Cheers Bill, just installing a flat pack kitchen at the moment and checked the screws. They look better than the ones you showed but I still upgraded one of the doors anyway to 8g screws and wall plugs and it feels way more solid. Time to do the rest!

This worked perfectly for me and it only took about 5 minutes to secure the hinge. Thank you so much. Last time I had used filler-wood piece for the similar issue. This one is a much better solution and makes the hinge even stronger.

Hi could you possibly post a video of how to fix hinges on carcass panel? The thread on my carcass has completely worn out and the screws are quite thick in diameter
what about putting a wood dial in with glue in place of the plug? does that work?

What if it’s already been plugged would you suggest the in full and then plug again
You can try a thicker screw eg; 8g screw. If that dosnt work just remove the old plug and re plug it👍

Don't these hinges snap apart? Is there a reason you wouldn't separate them and install each individual piece? Then you just snap the door on. Just curious and trying to learn.

Hi Bill, can you help me by showing the adjustment screws in the middle of the lock and the adjustment screw at the back. My partner slipped in the kitchen and used the open door to save herself. Important thing is my partner didn't fall but the cupboard door came off. I you could help me please I would really apprciate it.

This is excellent bill thank you. If I didn't have plugs, could I fill the holes with glue and baking soda and leave it harden and drill the screw back in? Would this work?
I wouldn’t suggest it, the wall plugs are cheap to buy and handy to have around 👍

My hinge is locked how do i het it unlocked
I'm in New Zealand and have a similar hinge (has 'Blum' on it) but it doesn't use screws on the piece that attaches to the cupboard door (not the carcus). It became loose over time and then the cupboard door fell off the other day, do you know why this happens or how to fix it? We've tried just putting it back in and reattching the door but it seems to be loose or off somehow as it isn't strong now- falls off all the time.
I have this problem too and would love a solution.
I have one of those hinges that just KEEPS POPPING OFF. I’ve made a million adjustments, screwed and unscrewed screws, twisted bent metal back in shape, everything, and it still pops off. I’m pulling my hair out!

I have a bifold kitchen door which no longer closes, not sure where the problem is, central hinges or door hinge
I have been trying for three days now to reattach the hinges from a crate and barrel TV cabinet I bought.. no luck they simply refuse to align, they don't look the same as the five videos I've watched, and nothing seems to work, they have open slots at the end and it won't slide on enough to attach the cabinets, they were on but hanging crooked which is why I removed them... any suggestions?

Bill i need help. I have a 165 degree hinge. The screw on the slide has worn the slide over the years. What can i use to tighten it again? The slide is nickle.

I hit mt head on a cupboard door like that and ripped it off. Part of the wood is broken.
Video is incorrectly titled. It is not about "how to fix cabinet door hinges". You should change it to "how to fix stripped cabinet door screw holes".
I feel like mine broke as my grandma doesn't close it when she's finish with the cabnit drawers. So it just comes out by not being closed for so long in time.
