There's just a lot of things about DS1 and DS2 that make them feel slow and clunky compared to the newer titles. But BB 2 would also be cool as long as they reduced blood vials to 10 and also made them respawn at a lamp. I hated farming for them in the early game and in the endgame, they were just too overpowered. Bloodborne was a masterpiece that unfortunately had too many inconveniences. Sekiros difficulty never felt artificial though.
Bloodborne doesn't need a part 2 it needs a pc port and atleast 60 frames for next gen consoles

Honestly curious if the sales for DS2 are only original, only SotFS, or both combined.
I was interested as well so I googled it and it seems the sales for ds2 are a bit inconsistent depending on who you ask. It seems 2.5 million is a figure given for both combined shortly after scholar released in 2015. However depending on who you believe it may have been a bit lower. That number also obviously does not include whatever it may have sold in the last 8.5 years.
I'd imagine both versions in *total* would edge out OG DS1, not counting DS1 Remastered, but like Jamie said my research also revealed some inconsistencies.
A game developer this good should never sign a platform exclusivity deal.
Bloodborne gave them the ability to make DS3 which regardless of anybody's preference is objectively the most complete souls game.
This makes me so happy to see them absolutely knock one out of the park. With a much bigger fan base they can afford to tackle even more ambitious projects. As long as they keep going by Miyazaki’s direction I have faith that they will keep pumping out awesome, original games. In the modern gaming world of endless microtransactions, pop-ups, and easy modes, FromSoft’s games feel like timeless classics.

The fact that demon souls is still a play station exclusive and didn't get the praise it deserve. It crawled so Dark Souls could run.
The low appreciation for 2. It gets way too much hate, the game is amazing, has a lot of improvements that, with Elden Ring in mind, shaped the series.
The fact that despite being an exclusive, Blood borne outsold both DS1 and DS2. It hurts because imagine if it wasn't exclusive. The way it sells means Sony won't give it up.
Bloodborne on PC will easily tack on another 2 million units sold.
There was a lot of bad word of mouth when Demon's Souls came out that it was insanely difficult and information wasn't clear about the Lose Everything on Death mechanic. I know I stayed away from it because of this reason and didn't go back until after Dark Souls.
in an alternative universe, FROM SOFT never released soulslike games(maybe just Kings Field 1), never saw this much success and never went on to make anything but formulaic mecha fighting games. Im not saying their current AC series is bad, I actually loved 6 and Ive heard 5 is equally if not even better than it according to a friend who plays that kind of games regularly

Dark Souls 3 as 2nd place makes me extremely happy. It was for its time the absolute best product it could be and its still Top 3 best game I ever played. Its slightly below The Witcher 3 and Halo 3 for me personally which are also perfect games

It was the first one in the series that really had that AAA polish. Very minimal amounts of glitches, good port for all platforms, forgiving requirements on PC, overall a pretty big improvement in graphics compared to the first two, and all this probably drew in more new players. Like me.
It's the only good game in the series. The other two are clunky.

@@seacooklmao the only good one? I would argue that dark souls 1 is the best one since its the only one with a coherent actually interconnected world and not just linear paths ending in dead ends. Also the first one has a armour system that actually works with stats like poise, where as the 3rd one armor doesn t do much at all. In one I can build a mountain type character that just hardtanks every hit and kills the enemy. Try that in 3 gl. 3rd one might be the best looking one but that doesn t make it the "only good one. Very weird take.

Numbers are either inaccurate or outdated. Bloodborne sold 7.5 million according to recent Playstation leaks. AC6 sold at least 2.8 million but isn't featured here.

Spirit ashes are optional and in cases like Malenia can actually hurt more than help. Margit was literally the gatekeeper for the first Great Rune and is certainly no pushover. And at the end of the day the point of Elden Ring as opposed to any of the other soulsborne games is that it’s OPEN WORLD. You have freedom to go fight other bosses to level up when you meet one that’s too difficult. But if you want to believe that FromSoftwares most popular game is their worst then that’s on you.
@@jacobhall3186 all you need to do in ER is find "black flame tornado" ash of war, since this deal max heal dmg, and spam your way through the game, such an easy mode doesnt exist in any other souls game, not even status effects are that potent in other souls games, idk if you are blind of fanboyism, but ER is just spamming your way through the game, you dont need to learn patterns, you summon your spirit ash and wait that you dont have aggro and use your ash of war, magic or something else.
the game is hardcore casual oriented ofc its popular when you give them an easy mode, why do you think there are still ppl that are buying new cod or bf titles, because those companys are aswell oriented to sell to casuals not to the fans that made them how they are.

These numbers are super inaccurate. Where do you get them. Just to give some examples: DS1 sold 5.5 million by 2015, Bloodborne sold 7.5 million by 2022, AC6 sold 2.8 million first two months and Sekiro had sold 10 million by the end of 2023.
ER also hit 23 million not long ago. Unfortunately many of these figures were updated several years ago. DS3 hit 10 million in 2020 so I'm pretty sure it has sold quite a bit more since then. Especially after Elden Ring's massive success.
DS II sales figures were last updated in April 2015. Maybe they'll update them in 2025 LOL.

@Jason-of4lf you're forgetting about the explosion in fanbase size fromsoft experienced AFTER ds3 came out. Ds3 came out after bloodborne.
Bloodborne wasn't living in the Renaissance of fromsoft popularity. Sekiro however came in at the right time to ride the hype train.
It's part of why elden ring sold so much more than everything else despite often being considered worse than bloodborne or ds3 by fans that have played more than just elden ring.
Fanbase size, hype trains, studio reputation. All of those play a huge part in how well their games sell.
Cd projekt red never once made a hit game that was beloved by everyone until the witcher 3. Thanks to the witcher 3 being a smash success, it won them the trust of everyone and their mother that cyberpunk 2077 was going to be the greatest game ever. That reputation they gained off of just 1 game was enough to fuel the hype train so immensely that it became gamings single biggest disappointing release.

Boys Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to sold 25 million copies. The worst Pokemon game ever released, developed in a single year by a now-dead GameFrak, beat Elden Ring. This makes us realize what level we are at. Note that the game has never been put on a discount and from 2019 buying it new costs 69.99 a crap.

Bloodbourne is just a particular taste. Its not overated. It's just perfect for people who like that particular style of game. Same with sekiro.
Elden Ring allows players who love heavy dark eldritch horror, and weebing samurai katana and medieval knights and spells and more in one game.

@@Snork3njoyer No not all are and bloodborne is not been confirmed on pc maybe other stuff has but I specifically made this comment for bloodborne, they would have announced ages ago if bloodborne was coming to pc and there's no proof of bloodborne coming to pc anytime soon
