I still remember the summer of 2001, going into the 8th grade, hearing Clint Eastwood on MTV2 at one o’clock in the morning for the first time (and countless time after that). Nineteen years later, they’re my favorite band of all-time.
@@teeheetummytums5609 haha but if u pay attention to him his mannerisms haven’t changed that much. Maybe that’s why it seems like he hasn’t changed a lot. Same thing with graham, his mannerism is still exactly the same
@Natalia P. I don't know if that's entirely true. "Strange Timez," "In The Valley of the Pagan," and "Momentary Bliss" feature his kinda rap/sung/spoken vocals he's been loving since Humanz. "Pac-Man" sounds like it was straight off on Demon Days. I hear a bit of blur on "Desole" and "Dead Butterflies" but the rest of the tracks that I haven't mentioned yet just sound like Damon being Damon I'm not getting strong 'blur' vibes. But then again a lot of blur just sounds like Damon these days. I dunno just my two cents.
He talked about wanting to do play or do something with blur after Season 2 so, forget about having a sing with Graham in a Gorillaz album, let’s get the boys back making a new blur album all together.
Would love to hear Graham, Alex and Dave back for another few songs. Would make Song Machine Season 2 have a different tone, music, and style than Season 1.
this interview in the middle to the end get so sweet and nice, Damon really miss Tony, we all do :( but im very happy that we have damon to share his criativity with us.
I appreciate these interviews because they keep me inspired and lately I’m dreaming in music; tapping into those parallel universe creative force & flow. He humbly helps prove we can all do that and just be happy in making whatever art we are expressing smiles to share 🧚♀️ 🎶
Seeing the new videos and hearing the new singles have been one thing I've had to keep looking forward to during the pandemic, so "keep culture alive" I think is an incredibly noble venture.
Its said in the gorillaz biography that Murdoc was inspired by heavy metal bands growing up, in his words "...heavy, thick, black metal". Its also stated elsewhere that he was inspired by The Beatles.
I haven't got an damon albarn involved album for a while! I like all the collaborations on this new record! I hope one day to see Gorillaz tour! Unfortunately, at the moment I am on benefits and can't afford to buy tickets for any tour! Mainly because I am living from day to day and when the lockdown finishes I hope to look for work! So hopefully, one day I can see Gorillaz somewhere in the world! Peter from southport
Damon, love you man! I have LOVED a handful of bands through the years...Smiths, U2, The Cure, Elbow, Radiohead, Blur, Gorillaz...but if I could only point to ONE person that was an integral part of so much great music it would have to be you! But I'll NEVER forgive you for jumping into the crowd front row center in Boston (or was it Brooklyn?) last Gorillaz tour and embracing everyone around me BUT me!

I thought it was their weakest album, momentary bliss and aries were absolutely amazing but the rest were either boring and forgettable or hard to finish listening to.
I agree with Damon and many other musicians that Boris Johnson and Eton lot have ruined the arts! We need not pay attention that to that blond hair bafoon! Damon: "Oh look at this i have a blur teacup"

There has been a lot of interviews in the last days, im glad for that
Me to. I find Damon fascinating especially creatively, plus I still fancy the pants off him so it's a bonus really 😁

Indeed! Still prefer the first three, but this one is on par with them

I had no idea Robert Smith was on the new Gorillaz record, it'll tide me over until he finally puts out some new Cure.
BROOOO. so jealous of the maestrovox & moog.... so so nice. can’t wait to be able to play one of those one day
Funny Damon comparing trying to play 2D to Bansky, when Bansky is quite likely done by 3D (Robert Del Naja).
Is he wearing Elton John's earring? 😂
