  • TJ tells us how it all started...
Ten years ago there was nothing for Honda Shadows. There were either shit parts or flames and skulls to pick from. In other words, JACK SHIT. Here's how he got started building custom choppers and bobbers from Honda Shadow motorcycles.

Thanks for starting TJBrutalcustoms. We watched all there was to see on your channel. Bought a very old vt600 and turned it to a bobber using your velocity stacks and recommendations for rejetting. It took us a while but we are now well on our way with a second bike. So ....... thanks mate !!

Hey man, I love watching your vids. I have an 04 vtx 1300, and am purchasing an 86 shadow vt1100. I wish there was more performance stuff out there, but you have brought me some hope. Thanks bro

Hey man first off; I really dig your videos. Getting to see all the how to guides have made me feel a LOT better about owning a bike and actually getting my hands dirty with my own repairs and work. Keep up the solid work! Now for my question.
I own a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 (vt750c2) and I want to start doing work on it. I wanna do a complete overhaul and get rid of the stock parts and get the best performance I can get out of the bike. But here is the problem, I have no idea where to even begin. If you could give me a step by step on where to begin with making my bike a beast I'd totally appreciate it. A custom build series would be sick! Everything on my bike is stock so I am looking forward to changing things up.
Once again I seriously appreciate your videos. Looking forward to more!

Stock or stacks. Stock jetting might work with a stock airbox, or stacks but you may need to run leaner jets.

DO NOT get anything from blue collar dbags!!!! They are 4x more expensive for crap you zip tie on and loosely tighten nuts that rattle and the customer service is pathetic at best. Sent pictures n measurements for a solo seat for my RS Shadow and they couldnt figure out what would fit when I told them 100x what would. Then they sent the wrong one for $250 when $40 on Amazon gets you a similar setup. Or go to bobber cycle or TJ or someone well known for Shadows. But steer clear from blye collar. I was stupid and got $100 bars that were $40 everywhere else and other trash by them... Had to fabricate everything from them to fit and look correct. Hope you find some good deals and turns out rad!!

What would you consider the style of your bikes. Chopper or bobber ??

Bobbers have stock neck angle. Choppers have neck angle raked out.

Some have used the term chop-bob or chobber for bikes that have been raked and the rear fenders bobbed.
