He's very talented in that he was able to fabricate those parts such as the lower dash cover. Dane sure meets a lot of interesting people in his videos.
I've been a part of the auto industry for 20 years now. Never in all my years did I know Dodge made a cab over. Thanks for the upload. Learned something new.
Back in the 70s as a kid I remember eastern freightways which bought associated transport and ultimately bankrupted them ran lots of dodge single axle conventional tractors with Cummins engines and probably 5spd 2 speed rear transmissions
It's very interesting when folks can make their own interior and it looks so good. Very nice truck. I never drove any big Dodge trucks, but they are good looking on the inside. Even outside they look good .
I haven't seen one of these in a long time. Thanks for putting this up. I'm glad there is someone out there going through the trouble to preserve and restore these.
Wow! That brings back some fond memories of my youth. We had a ‘67 w/250 Cummins and 10 Speed Spicer. I was just a kid riding shotgun with my Brother or Dad driving. Our interior was bone stock and that dog box would get scorching hot. Man what a view. Thanks for posting this. Funny thing back then I wished we had a conventional Pete but now 50 years later I wish I had that old Dodge.
I love how you guys are restoring these old classics, not just the Petes, KWs and Macks that most people restore. I like those too but really love the Dodges, GMCs, Whites etc. This truck is sweet just like it is. When are you doing the Emeryville video you promised? Keep it up, love your channel!
Thanks “Captain”, I’m with you on that. The Emeryville owner declined being featured so will have to wait for another to surface that’s not too far away from me. Thanks again for watching.
That cooper lines are much better then the cheap crap today that's why there is so many old iron still here running.they wasn't cheap in making them. Thanks 4 the video.i love old iron.
I owned and operated a 1973 Dodge CO. With a Cummins 903 v8 and trucked all over. Had a very unique sound. 13 over tranny. 390 rears because I pulled 35 ton loads in Canada.
These dodge trucks fascinate me to no end. As I understand, Dodge was a very late entrant to the Heavy Truck market, right before the oil embargo. They sold a handful of them and then decided it wasn't worth it. So this is truly a rare bird.
That brand of truck right there is what got me hooked on big trucks. The only difference in the two is the one i first time rode in was a 1969! Model . I rode with my dads friend to winnie texas and loaded and delivered a load of rice to the grain elevator in the port of houston. From then on i was hooked on big trucks. That was in 1975.
Dude...this is one hell of an awesome "ride back in time". I first saw a Dodge (sleeper) cabover in 1964 (when I was 13) on display at the New York World's Fair. The unit was at an exhibit sponsored by Allied Van Lines...I looked up at that truck with that big white steering wheel starin' at me through that remarkable flat windshield, and I "fell in love" with it. Amazing machine...
I grew up in Detroit 60's 70's remember all these trucks. GMC tractors for GM, Ford tractors for Ford, and Dodge tractors for Chrysler. My dad had cabover Mack and Int 4070. I've been trucking 40 yrs.
Never had anything like that cab over here in Australia. The nearest thing in Cabovers back then were the K124 narrow day cab Kenworth and the Cabover Peterbilt integrated Sleeper Cab
Thank you for making this video. I have a dodge cabover my self and its always good to see these trucks get some attention and also learn a few things about these classics. Please tell Don he did a great job on restoring his truck for me.
Hey There, I love watchin what you're doing with yours as well. These are a labor of love and its great to see the young guys like you comin aboard the vintage iron train lol.
I hope my truck comes out even half as good as that! Mine is a 71 and a daycab. I’m filming the whole thing which is a learning process, but that truck is incredible! It is a definite piece of history!
Wow! What a labor of love! Love them old Dodge trucks....l am currently restoring a 1946 Dodge Coe..that was so neat how the original owner was able to sit in his old truck and reminisce..You can't put a price on that..
Very nice video of a great old truck. He mentioned his buddy Bill from Rochester NY who has Dodges too. I have known Bill for many years as we both collect Dodge Power Wagons. He actually lost several very valuable Dodges in a bad fire several years ago. These cabovers were in my opinion way ahead of their time. Thanks again for the video. Bill Garland Carlisle, Pa.
I’m not much of a fan of Dodge trucks, but I sure can appreciate this tractor and all the love and hard work that went into this restoration, it came out beautiful. Would love to see the tractors you feature pulling trailers. Thanks for posting -Will
I did mechanic work on those cab over Dodges, younger people don't know how Dodge was big in the class 8 truck market. I REALLY ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Thank you Dan for watching. My hats tipped to your service on the icons of old school big trucks. I always have loved those big cabover and Big Horn Dodges for sure!
So many cool trucks back in the day. To bad they are all gone. Sad. Sometimes you just wanna see old school iron at work. Not these newfangled aero trucks.
The Pulling Hitch on the back of the Dodge Bighorn in the background gave it away. I have pics of that beautiful truck pulling the sled down the track. LOL
Dodge was among the first of Big 3 auto makers to get out of making class 8 trucks. I remember seeing these Dodge cabovers all the time during the 70s, day cabs pulling Chrysler grey/blue colored trailers on Detroit's east side where Chrysler had a huge plant.
Rare now since Dodge left the big truck market in 1975. Another great video you have. You sure meet some interesting people. I noticed when I used to drive long haul that there are a lot of old vintage trucks in the northeast waiting to be resurrected or already have been.
Thank you for watching. The great people I get to meet and learn from are what make make it such a joy to chase these old icons of Americana for sure. 😬👍
Awesome job on that rig You should be proud brother You made her look better than new I am blowed away Watching this video You really take pride in your work And it really shows All of the fine details you have done To this rig Looking forward to more videos of your work keep up the good work brother👍👍
I feel so blessed to have lived during a time when life was a little harder but simpler to enjoy, The 1960's and 1970's for me.
Totally agree my friend.
😊good job restoring this truck sounds great good job everyone at the truckers lounge keep the hammer down safe and sound

Just can't say enough about the restoration of this old beauty, thank you sir for your dedication and effort to preserve American trucking history!
He's very talented in that he was able to fabricate those parts such as the lower dash cover. Dane sure meets a lot of interesting people in his videos.
WOW!! This brings back memories! My dad used to work at the plant that built these.
😮that’s an awesome heritage 😬👍
I've been a part of the auto industry for 20 years now. Never in all my years did I know Dodge made a cab over. Thanks for the upload. Learned something new.
Absolutely you are welcome. I drooled over my buddy’s Dads as a kid. Still a bucket list truck for me.
Love your channel. A by gone era. Anyone can "drive" the new trucks.
Thank you so much. 😊
Just can't get enough of these old classic trucks! I remember when these Dodge trucks were brand new roaming the highways back in the day.
That's a seriously nice dodge cabover. Gotta love any type of old truck nowadays. God bless those old school truckers
For sure!👍
That was the first truck I ever drove my cousin had one in 1970 brand new 220 Cummins and 10 speed road ranger
Watching your drive brought back😊 memories of my grandfather driving cabover, Thanks for the memories.
That’s what it’s all about here my friend. Hookin up with those old school truckin memories! Thanks for watching
I'm old enough to remember heavy duty dodge trucks
Back in the 70s as a kid I remember eastern freightways which bought associated transport and ultimately bankrupted them ran lots of dodge single axle conventional tractors with Cummins engines and probably 5spd 2 speed rear transmissions
Nice to see those old cabovers being restored Sharp looking truck
Glad people are saving these old trucks.
It's very interesting when folks can make their own interior and it looks so good. Very nice truck. I never drove any big Dodge trucks, but they are good looking on the inside. Even outside they look good .
A real labor of love. And it really shows. A beautiful rare beauty. Thanks for showing it.
For sure!😬
Cool old Dodge, like that Big Horn in the background. Can’t wait to see that episode.
and you certainly will soon! Thanks for watching!
The love that guy has for that old white Dodge is simply tangible. He did such a great job restoring it. Thanks for the video ... absolutely loved it!
And Thanks for watching!
I'm soo jealous. Life long trucker here that owns a barracuda bracket race car. This gets me twice. Nice
well thanks for watching!
Looks like dodge and Cummins have a long history together . First the big boys and now the small boys ( rams) .
I was so lucky to have worked on and and driven so mahy of these classics and have been part of the good old days of trucking. AWESOME job Dane
Thanks Russ!😬
He's made that into a really nice rig.
Rare truck there for sure, non existant here on the west coast for sure. Thanks bud.
Thanks for watching! Maybe one will pop up near you.
I knew a guy in upstate NY that ran a 74 L1000, similar to that one. I loved to just look at that truck when he was at home.
Funny, I always thought those square dodge coe's were ugly in their day - but now I'd take it on a date! Thanks for reviving this truck!
And thanks for watching
My Dad was assigned one of these for a short period of time . It was a rough riding tractor that he was happy to leave .
I haven't seen one of these in a long time. Thanks for putting this up. I'm glad there is someone out there going through the trouble to preserve and restore these.

And the fords
My favorite cabover is the 70s and 80s Freightliners, GMC and Chevy C.O.s second
Fantastic iron. Would love to have all three of them in American Truck Simulator.

What a nice truck, thanks, New York is quite beautiful.what a great drive.
Thanks for watching
Very nice! I had a 72 years ago. It was green n white. 903 cummins, 13 speed. Love to have it back. Those Dodges were good trucks
Sweet, I think according to Don those 903's and 8V92s were designated LVT1000s. "V" for the V8.
Great save on a old beautifully done thanks from Sc
And very aerodynamic lol, I love the old iron
I haven’t seen one since I was a kid in the 70’s
Thank you for sharing this one that is one rare piece there.

Wow what a FIND...Thats a Nice Restore. On the Dodge..
These dodge trucks fascinate me to no end. As I understand, Dodge was a very late entrant to the Heavy Truck market, right before the oil embargo. They sold a handful of them and then decided it wasn't worth it. So this is truly a rare bird.
I agree, I love em they were so unique and looked like no other.
Great job on your redoing the dodge tks
That brand of truck right there is what got me hooked on big trucks. The only difference in the two is the one i first time rode in was a 1969! Model . THATS what it’s all about, remembering when we got bit by the big truck bug and memories we have of it. Thanks for watching

Never had anything like that cab over here in Australia. The nearest thing in Cabovers back then were the K124 narrow day cab Kenworth and the Cabover Peterbilt integrated Sleeper Cab
There a few imported in Australia. I remember reading the article in truck and bus magazine. Most had Detroit's.
You guys had some wild looking Inter COE in west Auzz they had wind screens by your feet
Very nice !!! Rare machines right there.
Awesome truck as usual
Thank you for making this video. I have a dodge cabover my self and its always good to see these trucks get some attention and also learn a few things about these classics. Please tell Don he did a great job on restoring his truck for me.

1 the Bighorn was a big Beauty I love that truck this truck was nice too
Looks great! The Dodge symbol in the steering wheel reminded me of the logo on Dodge vinyl tops. Nice to see it found a good home.
