- Sir Cliff Richard's lawyers have told a High Court judge that the singer should get "very substantial" compensation because BBC coverage of a police raid on his home was a "flagrant" breach of his privacy rights.

They did. He's absolutely right to sue them, it should not be in the public interest until he's actually proved of anything.

Amen !! Jesus was persecuted, now Sir Cliff. Cliff has done so much for others and people accuse him of things without a shred of evidence, just choose to believe the rumours. A lot of them, if not all hide behind user names and fake pictures. If they really did have anything at all on him, I'm sure he would've been arrested by now, just like Rolf Harris and Gary Glitter was !!
just me, again, I will tell you as I did in your last message, please allow me to educate you. Sir Cliff Richard is not gay, he had a girlfriend called Delia Wicks, then he was sexually linked to a woman called Jackie before he became a born again Christian ( Look at the spelling by the way !!!! ) he then had a platonic relationship with tennis player Sue Barker, both ''Christians'' who did not indulge because they were not married. There was also a rumour with him and another woman who's name will be left out if you don't know about it. I have read about his life in many books, not once does it ever mentioned that he had a live in boyfriend called Norman, now please, get the facts right before you come out more slanderous comments. I'd never been much of a fan of Cliff's music, but I'm totally on his side with this. I hope he stuffs it to the filthy BBC good 'n' proper. 👍

tasiawful1, well why haven't they arrested or questioned Jess Conrad? He's on the list as well. No, he went to Las Vegas instead. That Elm house list means nothing, anyone can write a list. I could give you a list of celebrities I can't stand and say they abused me, who would you believe. Look up a video of Bill Maloney interviewing social worker Chris Fay and it's Chris Fay that said there was a raid at Elm house in 1982, he also said there is no evidence at all that Sir Cliff abused any children.

There was definitely 4 cases of child abuse against him that were handed over to the cps.
He is innocent and the BBC should be ashamed of themselves for putting him through that HELL....and even winning this he will have the memories of that terrible day repeating in his head...why is it that the innocent are attacked while the evil(savile) get off scot free?
Koko Kaa, very well said, but please don't worry, have faith, Sir Cliff will one day find peace with God in Paradise and those who attacked, tormented and persecuted will be judged themselves, all those who comment on here against him, hiding behind user names and fake pictures. Love and forgiveness is the way, but forgiveness comes to those who truly repent and those who accuse Sir Cliff have already made up their minds that he's guilty even without solid proof, just out of hatred and what he stands for.
i dont agree with him being innocent ,he was behind alot more than just this as well...cant say for sure but unfortunately with the case closed only time will tell.

The fact the cps dropped the case looks like a cover up.
At least Sir Cliff has the money and doesn't need to worry about finding a job, anyone normal could be financially as well as mentally ruined. But I can understand him wanting to keep a clear reputation and name and it upsetting him mentally. Innocent till proven guilty, BBC need to buck up their ideas, they also don't produce any decent comedies like Only Fools and Horses and that now either.
Cliff had not appeared on the BBC since the allegations, he does not participate in any BBC funded projects at all. I believe the BBC wanted to do a show about the Eurovision Song Contest but Cliff, Sandie Shaw & Lulu all declined to be on it..
He's on it now, the hypocrite...
