It's so nice to see you and put the face to the voice ✨I find there is a lot of pressure to declutter, but at the same time, a lot of overconsumption leading to overwhelm. Finding that happy medium is key ;) I really enjoyed this video and loved how you determined what to keep in your collection! Hugs to you 🤗❤
It breaks my heart that you might feel as if you have to justify your deck collection. As an art historian, I see decks as beautiful little collections of individual artworks in a tiny package, and how lucky we are to collect these beautiful things and enjoy them as much as we do. If you have the room, the "brain space", and the budget, then enjoy your beautiful and vast collection of wonderful decks! There are plenty of people I know who have hundreds and hundreds of books that they consider vast, wonderful libraries and dedicate tons of space in their houses to displaying and storing these books, and very few people give them trouble about it. The cost of a hardbook fiction book is the same as a mass market deck, an art/photo book is the same as a indie deck, and books take up more room and rarely get re-used (re-read) unlike a deck might. So enjoy your decks! We should all enjoy our collections, large and small.
I’m not doing a good job at re-homing as you can see 😉😉 I don’t necessarily feel like I need to justify my collecting habits. I just felt like it was the right time to test my bond with each and every deck 🥰
😂 omg roaring over here about the Barbra Walker ~ it’s one of my main ones and sometimes would say the same as you.. triple whammy. So fun to see you on camera ❤
I just did a big deck purge. A bunch of mass market decks went to a local used bookstore which gave me a bunch of credit. Way easier than dealing with people online. Anything more special I take the time to sell myself. I live on a sailboat so I don't have room for things I'm not using. That being said, I do have a pretty extensive tarot and Oracle collection LOL
Oh you live on a sailboat, that’s so cool!!! I can imagine space being limited though so that would definitely help you with deciding which decks to keep. I’d love to sell some of my decks to a bookstore but I can’t find any one that would take them here in Sydney 😩
May I just say, I love the color of your lipstick! 🥰 I use the Marie Kondo method for every other part of my life, but somehow just can't with my decks. Excited for this 😍
Thank you Kara 🙏🥰 I honestly thought that Marie Kondo was too drastic but there’s some kind of logic to it. I’m still waiting to see if I can follow through with it though 😉
Hi Annette! I was struggling not to laugh too! Does the Barbara Walker bring me joy? Nope! It hurts, that’s what it does 🤣🤣 It’s a great deck though, so I’ll keep it 😉
I feel really good about this now! Going through them one by one has helped me understand if I’m attached to them or if I can live with parting ways with them. I think I’m going to learn a lot about my collecting habits with these videos 🥰
I’ve been feeling like this and ended up parting with 8 decks and selling them to my local metaphysical store. It’s been very heartwarming to watch someone else pick up decks that weren’t meant for me go to them! I will say I still have a large library but I feel better being able to part ways instead of hoarding them!!
I’d love to do the same but I don’t know of any bookstore in Sydney that sells second hand tarot decks. I agree that it’s always better to re-home a deck I’m not using so it will go to someone who will appreciate it 🥰
My rules are: do I actively use it? Is this collectible/oop? Do I have something similar to this? If the first 2 are no and the last yes, then it goes to purgatory then eventually let go of
I’ve noticed! I think it was made available immediately after the kickstarter which was a bit of an issue for backers but then the listing dropped. I don’t know what happened there 🤷♀️ It’s certainly an interesting deck 🥰
You've got that "yes I need it. Yes I do" down pat. Haha😂. I agree about the white borders on the latest JJ tarot. I would have preferred them but am still getting the deck. We'll at least you put 5 in the purgatory pile.
We get to see gorgeous you today! I’m overwhelmed with my collection which isn’t nearly as large so I understand wanting to cull to keep what I really love & use. Omg I never saw that “Gothmancy” deck & NEED it (bet friends are in it), music decks really speak to me. This was fun, I look forward to more in the series! With💚, Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️🤘🦋🏍🦇🎃👻(nope not giving up Halloween yet😂!)

Looking forward to the rest of this series!

I want to see a video of all your collectable decks.
It’s definitely coming! I’m planning to go through the entire collection and at the end just focus on the collectibles 🥰
Love this videos! And LOVE the color of your lipstick 😍🩷
Thank you 🙏🥰 It’s the only colour that goes well with my skin 😂

Definitely not bringing me any joy but still a fundamental deck to have in my collection 🤣🥰

Oh you are brave. I would be terrified to have my decks on a boat.

I was also going to comment that I love your lipstick color!
@ thank you 🥰
Silvia - you had me laughing with your remarks in regard to the Barbara Walker Tarot. I need to do a "Kondo" cleanse with my decks as well.
Hi Annette! I was struggling not to laugh too! Does the Barbara Walker bring me joy? Nope! It hurts, that’s what it does 🤣🤣 It’s a great deck though, so I’ll keep it 😉
I was wondering if your collection would ever reach a point where it became a little unmanageable. I'm starting to feel that with mine now.

These are good rules! I need to see how good I get at following them though 😉🥰
Liberation Tarot is showing for sale under publisher PM Press.
I’ve noticed! I think it was made available immediately after the kickstarter which was a bit of an issue for backers but then the listing dropped. I don’t know what happened there 🤷♀️ It’s certainly an interesting deck 🥰
Oh I am excited to see.
I didn’t do a very good job 🤦♀️🤣
I have 44 decks and I decluttered from around 180 😂
Well done! I’m nowhere near that good 😉😂
Loved spending this time with you & your treasures ❤🤗
Thank you Marine 🙏🥰 For me it’s another way to reconnect with my decks 😉
I feel as a collector, we can never have too many decks💜I'm excited for this series!🦋
I agree!! On the other hand I can’t move into a bigger house 🥹🤣
I love this!!! Can't wait to see round 2. I'm pretty sure way too many decks out there "spark joy" for me and that's my problem 😅😂🖤
As you can see I wasn’t doing a very good job at re-homing them so I might have the same problem 🤣🥰

I’m curious to see if the new Jonasa shows more “reds” like we can see in the sample cards 😉
@ that's what I'm hoping for

Jet! You don’t have the Gothmancy! You’ll love it, I promise!! I hope it’s still available, it’s got an amazing energy too 🥰🥰
@ - Sadly looks OOP😢, but I’ll keep my eyes open! 😘🧡
@ oh no!! I’ll keep an eye out for it too 🥰
@ - Thank you lovely! 😘🧡
ohh, what a tough Job 🙈
I couldn't do this. I want to keep All of my Decks 🥰
@@angelaschredl9245 it’s really hard and I’m not very good at it 😩🤣🤣
I tried something like this but only managed to part with one deck, lol.
@@linda42tarot definitely harder than I thought!! I bet Marie Kondo didn’t have a Tarot collection 😉😉😂😂
@ I would guess not! Pretty much all my decks bring me joy and if they don’t right now…I assume they are joy meant for future me. 😁
@ that’s exactly my state of mind at the moment 😉😉😂😂
I have 30-40 decks, tarot and oracle. I don’t know if I could get rid of any. They’ve become my babies.
I feel like they’re all my babies too 🥰 I’m not very good at re-homing them, they all bring me joy!
