My grandmother got one of these fully loaded back in May and everything the guys said in the video is very accurate. I drove it for a couple weeks while she was away and it’s an amazing car to drive.

I have had mine for the past two months. Absolutely outstanding car. 55-60 ev miles in warmer weather. 45-50 ev miles now that winter has arrived. Couldn’t be happier. It is the best transitional power train until ev becomes ubiquitous.
Plug-in hybrids in Canada are perfect dailies and road trip vehicles. We just got a 6seat XC90 Recharge. 60kms of electric every day for school, 3 kids worth of activities and grocery runs. Getting ~2000kms per tank now and thats with a few 200km+ round trips to Toronto and back (including a trip to get my car scanned at TuxMat). I think we can push it to 3000km/tank.
That’s what we have been begging for In the USA . With hybrid you can get the best of both worlds but unfortunately auto makers think they know the people nowadays but by the time they realize their models are not selling a bit . C63 is a prime example
@@viccao8431 Yeah! I had plug-in hybrids written off because the first batch of them had such low electric only distance, but these new ones from Volvo, Mercedes, etc have 60+ km of range which makes them hyper-efficient if your daily needs are less than that or if you can charge during the day.
Finally. This is the one for me. 90 km range gives me full electric for 90 percent of my driving and for longer (one hour) highway trips it basically erases half my journey. 45 mpg here we go! A great idea to have a generator motor like the optional one in the bmw i3. But Benz knows its demographic. An occasional visit to the pump won’t bother them one whit!
There is cupholders at the back. The first push opens that phone holder. Push again slightly but not all the way in and it comes out more with the cupholders.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class W223 is literally like a dream car of my life and is my prefered Mercedes-Benz model if I wish to buy one. Also, when it comes to German full-size luxury sedans, I don't know if I could choose that over the BMW 7 Series G70.
Well for one based on mechanics advice, specifically S580e, yes they can nice to drive in the short term but this one of the least reliable w223s you can actually have, the 7 series maybe polarising but also lesser issues I suppose as nowadays Mercedes reliability is going down

My X5 can do commands like "Hey BMW, play TikTok radio." That may be a thing in iDrive 8.5. If you ask by SXM station number it actually repeats back the full name for the station. Agree on all the EV commentary. I try to drive 100% EV whenever I can. The silent, powerful, magic carpet ride is an absolute treat.
No, w221 and w222 looks better than the new S class, and also 7 series seems to be a more of an expensive built car than this S class is, the interior itself doesn’t scream class especially with that protruding screen which looks like a rather budget afterthought than on the 7 series, that 7 series is overhated because it doesn’t look like a BMW, but rather of a Rolls Royce judging the boxy profile up front

Thats actually a good looking car. And "HYBRID" is the way forward. EV might be a reality one day as infrastructure catches up. But if you like your freedom as a human, you have to keep gasoline or diesel around or governments will control your movements. Just look around in recent lockdowns. There was nothing governments didn't try to restrict your movements. Be wise....choose wisely.

I find it hilarious that my Corolla I paid $7k for has the same braking system but the brake pedal is extremely predictable at all times. It increases the brake sensitivity when it detects a car in front of you and can even tell when the car has it's brake lights on 🤣

4:15. This is completely false. My car has adaptive cruise control with braking and the pedal doesn't move. When i push the pedal while it is already braking it just gives me the appropriate resistance i would already have if i was already braking at that level and it is not jarring at all. If my pedal actually moved i could totally see having an accident eventually because of your foot getting tripped up by accident. It would probably be a very rare occurrence but still. The fact that the pedal moves is so weird.
My X50e has all the same stuff as this car and costs 100k less...Also my highway assist is truly hands free on the highway...I don't have to touch the steering wheel at all on trips...That was the most annoying thing of having adaptive cruise in the past imo

The s580e in my country has terrible reliability issues, almost all owners that i know has a couple of electrical faults on this brand new car that the dealership still couldn't fix properly
Not only your country. It was a supplier issue. The whole production line with the series-number "012819" (overall around 23500 vehicles) was called back and they had to swap some small parts to fix a heavy issue with the on-board network.

Have a 2020 Volvo XC60 T8 plug in hybrid right now, hate it. The battery died at 48,000 miles and the electric system doesnt work below 25 degrees F
