    Beautiful tone and playing. That's what the jazzmaster is all about!

    Awesome stuff mate - 2 of my favorite things Jazzmasters and a Blade reference :)

    Nice review. Looks like they have a 2024 update: “2024 spec. increased pitch range to match the down-bend and up-pull of vintage units.” Anyway, I‘ll definitely keep in mind if I get a jazzmaster!

    Thanks for this. It sounds like you're really stoked on this... But I don't know if the one you had before was the Mastery or other? You seem to praise the Mastery for being very quiet, so I'm not sure if the other things like sustain and tone that you refer to as being better than the previous one, as in reference to the Mastery.

    3:40 "Bonking into the housing" that's the perfect description! Mine does the same. Have you found any way to adjust trem to avoid this?

    Nice playing! I grabbed a descendant too.
    Do you notice any clicking when you move the vibratro around? It's like my fulcrum is clicking against the plate. Wondering if you had to play around with that at all.
    Maybe the sound is the bar for me as well, like you mentioned.
    Btw you can tighten the spring tension screw to raise the arm a touch.

      Yep. A bit. @ 7:50 But I haven't heard it in the track yet.

      Have you guys found a fix for that clicking sound yet? I had a gig with it yesterday and the clicking sound definitely came through the FOH in the quite parts of the song where I use a lot of the term arm. A bit disappointed to be honest. Is Mastery dead quiet?

      @@daveandrew7014 I think mine must have just went away with heavy use.
      Eventually you will wear down the fulcrum just right.

    a rubber bar you could slide in just behind the bridge could dampen it. no damage no mod.

    • @JustinOstrander
      @JustinOstrander  ปีที่แล้ว

      That wouldn’t fix the crippled sustain. It would only prevent the strings from ringing out as much behind the bridge. Still ultra happy with the new tailpiece

    Hello Justin,
    Subscribed to your channel here - you have interesting and enjoyable content !
    A couple of questions if I may ?
    In your experience how well suited is the Jazzmaster/Descendant pairing for playing slide given a shallower break angle over the bridge? How close or accurate is the intonatability of the Mastery bridge?
    I currently have a Telecaster with 3 saddle bridge which feels and sounds great but also thinking about a second slide instrument!
    Any feedback or points of view would be much appreciated. Thanks and keep going! Best regards, E 👍🙏

      I use my Jazzmaster, including for playing slide, all the time. There are multiple videos on my channel here where you can see just that.

      Factory Danocaster stuff. I know the pickups are Peter Leonard, but I don’t know anything else. I do know I ain’t messin with it.

    does yours bend up in pitch like a stock one or the mastery? Ive seen soe people say you can only bend down Great playing and reviews btw!

    • @JustinOstrander
      @JustinOstrander  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does bend up in pitch. But not very far. Not quite a half step on my guitar. It is enough to get a cool jazzmaster wiggle though.

    • @DelScully
      @DelScully 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JustinOstrander okay good to know, thanks! I don't bend up much as it is anyways! I've heard the mastery has quite a bit more but I'm not planning on dive bombing a jazzmaster anyways aha!
