The emperors children rule does not extend to allies. It would be interesting to get a current viewpoint on how your lists performed and how you would change them now that the meta is better understood. Its is clear though that Infiltrate is the OP must have in a WAC list.
Interesting discussion. Our pioneer companies are pretty similar. Instead of the rapiers I went with 2 max sized units of missile tarantuala to help with anti air and had max ogryns with the lasrifles rather than mixing in veletaris (but thats because I got some extra via ebay auctions). The issue with the emperor's children's detachment rule is that it does not scale with the army, you get no benefit from a 2nd detachment, and having a small emporer's children detachment along side a main astartes force gives the same buff as a whole emperor's chidren army.
Thanks for this, just discovered the channel, and I'm trying to work my head around good ways to build lists, so seeing insight into list building is great!
ive been running the math on heavy support marines, they seem incredibly strong. The problem is getting them in numbers is tough. I reckon list focused around imperial fists and missile launchers would just flatten things
Sounds expensive for a 1,500 point force. It will take 7 additional Astartes infantry boxes ($350) to get your 16 stands of assault marines. With that much infantry it would be very easy to create a 3,000 point force and get a titan in the force, and or have two Thunder Hawk gunships with 16 stands of Terminators to get in the face of your opponent.

Thanks for the content! I’m super into building and painting my LI models; but haven’t had any chance to really sit and theorycraft.

Thanks for watching! Plenty more to come in the New Year. Let me know if there's anything in particular you want to hear about

But then you have to play as Imperial Fists. Ew.

The problem with the turn one charges might be that big stuff is not pinned by infantry in close combat.
Oh absolutely. But that's a risk my Ogryn are WILLING TO TAKE!
