It's great seeing 2 of my favorite gamers in the same video. I have to echo the statement by Mr. Zinser: "John [Clair] probably wins more often than I do at every game we play. He's an excellent game player." Same is true of Jackie.
Space Base was fun to play when I tried it at SoCal Games & Comics (in Temecula, CA). It felt like part Machi Koro, sure, with dice that pay out for ALL players (a classic Catan idea, really), but it added the freedom to choose how to split/add the dice (which is reminiscent of Kingsburg...but somehow feels like way less work here.) What really sets this game apart is that ship-flipping element, whereby players add to their earnings with specific numbers (when they are rolled).
I'm not surprised at how clean & clever this design is--John Clair is a very smart guy. (But unassuming, so you'd never know it.) And I love how different this game is from his other well-known design: Mystic Vale. It proves he isn't a "one-trick-pony"; he's a designer to watch... Thanks for the video, SMHTW!

In some other tutorial I even saw the gausian curve with top over 7 lol. The fact 6 till 1 are better than 7 was an eye opener, just won three games in a row

@@ShowMeHowToWin Somewhat, although they were already tips I mostly knew from playing quite a few times. Was hoping for some more advanced and specific strategy regarding the cards, especially the ones that you can charge and use for actions.

John Z is right, I used to be accused of cheating with my Axis and Allies dice rolls.

Should of gotten me to do this video. I've got like a 90 percent winrate, but I guess the designer is just as a good person to get for it.

I guess when it comes to games with two dice you just dominate Sean lol.
