    I have something that is really good for rust. You can buy Lysol toilet bowl cleaner 10 times stronger. That's what it will say on the front of the bottle. Don't get it confused with the regular. You can buy it at Walmart just make sure you grab the right one that says 10 times stronger. It cleans metal up rust stains and it is amazing for anything porcelain sinks and toilet bowl and bathtubs. Gets rid of rust

    Yes! Tools! You need to use the right tool for the job, a bit screwdriver is NOT a chisel.

  • @WilliamLahr
    @WilliamLahr 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    CLR is kind of expensive. Get a gallon of Kleen Strip Hydrochloric acid from Home Depot for around $11. You can dilute it with water to make your own "CLR" or use it full strength to quickly remove heavy rust deposits. It will also bleach concrete and brick, remove scale from a boat hull, etc. Rinse the part, brush it with a steel welding brush and put it back in the acid as required until the rust is gone. Rinse and dry the part and coat it with oil to preserve it. WD40 will displace moisture, but doesn't last long. A friend of mine used to put his rusty finds in a bucket of diesel fuel and let it soak. Naval Jelly (if it is still made) also works. Paint it on the rust, let it dissolve, rinse it off and oil it. It's a slow process.
    As to your chicken coop, do you know why a chicken coop has two doors? Because if it had four doors, it would be a chicken sedan.

    CLR is an absolute must for cleaning things with rust or calcium build up on it!!
    You should keep some Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sponge’s OR THE OFF BRAND around you for when it’s time to take the items out of the CLR for scrubbing or even for the items you don’t/can’t put in the CLR the sponges are so versatile and truly a game changer just the #GOAT in the cleaning world!!

    Some pliers weren't so bad. I might have taken one or two out sooner, cleaned those, then take a break, and later do a couple more. Something to do when you will be home all day, doing laundry, cleaning up the house, etc. Doing 12 in a row would be boring. Also, a powered grinder with a sandpaper wheel would shine them up fast. A little cleanup of the grooves with a screwdriver, dish soap wash up, and wd40 and you have saleable tools.

    It would be beneficial if you got a 4½" angle grinder and they make wire wheels for them, just mounting the grinder in your bench vise and absolutely wear gloves because it will remove skin a LOT of skin lol, it will torque and grab the pliers and whatever else you're buffing off and pull your hand into the wheel, or go to harbor freight and get a bench grinder and wire wheel set up if you really want to clean up stuff, you're off to a great start with the soaking solution, but like I said, if you want to clean up the items REALLY well. Keep up the good work my man

    • @koen_bakker
      @koen_bakker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He already has a wire wheel for his cordless drill. I don't think wearing gloves will be a good idea tho. At least not just usual gloves, cause the steelbrush can grab into them when you lose controll and i think that will make your wrists hurt pretty much when that happens.
