Am I the only person who loves seeing Gopher all confused when playing a linear game, after playing open world games like Fallout and Skyrim for so long?
Gopher! You just uploaded greatest let's play of all times! Really! They way you interact with the game as a let's player makes this absolutely outstanding! It brings a truly different aspect to this game that vastly enriches the experience. Sorry for all the exclamation marks but this is simply a piece of art.
Horst Meier watch the playthrough on Mackscorner, it's essentially the narrator and Mack (who has an accent made for rage) yelling abuse at each other.
That would be amazing, I really like gopher playing as Stanley, It just feels like a perfect fit for talking with the narrator, of all the youtubers I've seen play this game, gopher is the best one :P
Wow! I've heard so much of that game but didn't really felt compelled to play it. In fact, now that Gopher plays it, I'm sure I wouldn't have had a better gameplay experience that the one I'm having right now by listening to him while he does the playing! :P
***** Just like you wasted your time pointing out you wasted your time, and I'm wasting my time pointing out the irony in your statement. Of course if you are roaming around on youtube, much like me, you weren't going to do anything with it in the first place.
The game tells you what it is: it's a parable, a lesson, and the object is to play as many times as it takes to fully understand what it is trying to tell you. Oh, and to also laugh so hard that your beverage of preference is likely to shoot out your nose at least once over the course of your experience.
The game is fabulously designed and writen, also graphics and sounds are a perfection! :) This game is a true representation of "something completely new and different" which is very hard to achieve in gaming community. I personally wish that Gopher actually stick to it even more. Maybe someday, he will return to it to experience it even more. It's an amazing game!
Gopher, just as a heads-up, you'll probably need to consult a guide to find every single ending in this game. Even when you think you've found them all, there will probably be some choice you never even thought of that leads to a different ending.
Yeah, I love it. Though I think my favorite ending is either the Broom Closet ending or maybe the Confusion ending. I hope Gopher comes back to this ending sometime later after having checked out a few other ones. He seemed afraid to spend too much time in it, either due to fearing boredom from the audience or fearing spoiling things for himself (Though if the latter, I'd argue that's not the point - the whole idea of linearity, knowing what is coming next in a game, understanding the underpinnings of what goes on behind the scenes, etc is a lot of what is being poked fun at in this game, and it very well could make the point better by having knowledge of some of this stuff. It's my guess for the reason why finding it is so easy).
***** ... because I'm mostly joking about it? The "Broom Closet Ending" is what people jokingly refer to what happens in the Broom Closet as. The ending guides almost all have a flow chart leading to it (again, mostly as jokes), and the game itself makes a joke about the "Broom Closet Ending".
***** I legitimately really like what the game does when you stand in the broom closet for a while. I find it legitimately funny. It is legitimately one of the best parts of the game in my opinion. That being said, the joke is basically about it not being an ending, and people telling others about it being an ending and now I've gone and explained the joke that was already explained in the game itself, that was then taken to the logical conclusion in the game's community... and also spoiled what made the broom closet funny while explaining the joke, thus making it unfunny. Yay.
Yep it is quite something this ending... I actually pressed escape and quitted the game in my first try of going through this path, while on my second try I did not, just to fin a black screen full of emptyness :D
I must say that this game is hilarious. I, like Gopher, had only ever heard the title of this game, and had no idea what to expect. I am grateful, though, that I never did. Experiencing it with Gopher behind the wheel is absolutely priceless. I doubt I could have enjoyed it as much if I had gone through it myself. The irony is so deep. I am actually eager to see what the "narrator(s)" have to say when all the orders are monotonously followed. Is the philosophical bend that choice is an illusion? Or maybe that any deviation from the script of your life is fatal? Or is it an indictment of society? Or progress? Or maybe that the journey is more important than the destination? Whatever message turns out to be, I can see that the journey will be enjoyable.
I think I figured it out. This game is about anti-immersion. Rather than extending the player into the game world, the game extends into the player. That is to say, in Soviet Russia, game plays you.
Seeing that the narrator's ridiculous instructs bother Gopher, each time I had been helplessly driven to vicious feelings of pleasure... The narrator is basically mean at all, but I love his nastiness as well as Gopher's gentleness.
Oh my gosh, this game is brilliant! Reminds me of what a gaming journalist once wrote "No matter what you do in a game, you are the game's bitch. All it ever presents to you is the illusion of choice." (I'm paraphrasing, of course)
This is GREAT game! Every choice is leading to separate sequence of occasions! (Spoiler: there is no actual winning or failing state. It's all just a giant Moebius strip)
I love how they put all this "behind the scenes" stuff on display just to drive home the point of how all possible paths have already been plotted out. Its literally putting your lack of agency in the story on display.
Gopher, what is your opinion of this game? Is it just creeping you the hell out or just enough to be enjoyable? The textures and meshes, lighting, mood look top notch
Matt Van Vrancken I am not Gopher for sure, but if you decided to get this game, you should stop reading/watching anything about it right now, and just buy it and play it, Also, talking visuals, it is a Source Engine game. It looks like Source, it feels like Source, it works like Source.
defosh369 Fair enough, consider me sold. I still would like Gopher's impression but it really wouldn't affect my interest any. I like immersion though and this is almost a metagame, so yeah. Very intrigued.
ok you need to stay in the broom clostet untill after he stops talking then when it restarts go back into the broom closet and do the same. another you need to do is the opposite of what you are told to do and when you get onto the cargo lift jump off onto the walkway below and continue doing the thing he asks you not to do
Oh god. After watching so far, my mind's like "How to lose your Sanity? Play Stanley Parable". I love it. Will you upload more parts if there's more things to discover?
mrbitbot Thats assuming the player followed narrator's directions. I spent the first half of my playthrough just trying to break the rules and never even got to the boss's office. Spoilers aren't a big deal for this game either because the story and endings aren't the main point. The fun of the game is all the narration and events that happen in-between the endings.
Yesterday I almost got an ending I don't think I've seen before, but I opened a door and got stuck between the door and the wall and couldn't get out or close the door. So I had to restart. I was so pissed.
Small tip Gopher. If you are still continuing the game, do not read these comments! Full of spoilers! If you are still reading this comment, please stop!
Gopher speaking to Gopher
Last episode:
"Please die."
"Well that's not very nice... :("
This one:
"I'd like to die now, if that's okay with you!"
6:07 “ppppbbbbbbbb Stanley did bloody well not mate”
Legendary
Gopher and The Stanley Parable is a match made in TH-cam heaven.
7:26 Gopher drops the F-Bomb. It was amazing.
"Whatever you do, choose it. Don't let time choose for you."
One of my favorite quotes from the game.
Gopher is the most perfect guy to play this.
I LOVE THE BROOM CLOSET ENDING :D!
OH, DID U GET THE BROOM CLOSET ENDING? THEB ROOM CLOSET ENDING WAS MY FAVRITE!1 XD
Jontman42
how to get it?
TheKeskorian Stay in it for a very very long time. Then the next time to finish a normal ending take a visit back to the closet XD.
yep, the broom closet ending was awesome.
You seriously chose the two most spoilery endings of them all, how do you do that gopher?
It was an easy choice fairly early on. Not the best calculation on the devs' part.
Am I the only person who loves seeing Gopher all confused when playing a linear game, after playing open world games like Fallout and Skyrim for so long?
Oh god, this Let's Play is worth thousands of Dragonfights Richard went through. Where is the oxygen?
This is hilarious, Gopher. xD
O_O Hey, Andrew... again. We seem to watch the exact same people. xD
Andrew Hill I watch out of those:
Gopher
Brodual
Fudgemuppet
Shoddycast
Rebelsize
So I guess we do watch the same things :D
:D
Gopher!

Horst Meier watch the playthrough on Mackscorner, it's essentially the narrator and Mack (who has an accent made for rage) yelling abuse at each other.
I love love love the part where you were walking down the escape hall
Doing this as a Let's Play rather than streaming was an act of genius! I particularly like the short segments - perfect length.
It's actually amazing how much thought and emotions one can read in the movement of the camera.
Are we lucky enough for a part 3? Or are we pushing our luck? :P
That would be amazing, I really like gopher playing as Stanley, It just feels like a perfect fit for talking with the narrator, of all the youtubers I've seen play this game, gopher is the best one :P
Well, we want to see what happens in the Mind Control Room >:-)
MrFreakierTruth I was implying him uploading it today, like he did with the first 2 parts.
Okay, I am LOVING this game and Gopher's reaction to it. Keep them coming! *picks himself up off the floor from laughing*
Wow! I've heard so much of that game but didn't really felt compelled to play it. In fact, now that Gopher plays it, I'm sure I wouldn't have had a better gameplay experience that the one I'm having right now by listening to him while he does the playing! :P

***** It's a chain that I have stumped.
If you want my opinion, read my last comment.
Try the demo, it's good in and of itself, same style but different setting. ;)
This might very well become one of the best lets plays ever recorded. I love it!
I absolutely love Gopher's confusion! As smart as this man is, its good to see him utterly baffled by this game. lol
I love that Gopher is playing this. This game all but makes you react to different stimuli.
Best two videos you ever did! Congratulations. I WANT TO SEE MORE OFF THE STANLEY PARABLE!!!! Can't wait
I'm so used to the Fallout Let's Plays, that this is actually kind of refreshing, the fact that it's so different.
the only thing better than the excellent narration in this game is a play-thru featuring the excellent narration of Gopher
Gopher's comentary just makes this perfect
Gopher, thank you for doing these videos, it's like watching a movie most of the time. Thanks again!
Wow. Two of the three most philosophical endings in two tries. If you get all three in three tries, I'm calling shenanigans.
Glad to see you playing this Gopher, looking forward to seeing you find the other endings!
The game tells you what it is: it's a parable, a lesson, and the object is to play as many times as it takes to fully understand what it is trying to tell you. Oh, and to also laugh so hard that your beverage of preference is likely to shoot out your nose at least once over the course of your experience.
watching you run to that meeting room like a spanked child made me choke laughing
this series is one of the best so far
The game is fabulously designed and writen, also graphics and sounds are
a perfection! :) This game is a true representation of "something
completely new and different" which is very hard to achieve in gaming
community.
I personally wish that Gopher actually stick to it even more. Maybe someday, he will return to it to experience it even more. It's an amazing game!
indeed

This let's play is brilliant. I can't think of a better person to watch playing this game than Gopher. I really hope you're enjoying it.
One recommendation for a playthrough. Close the door to your office without going out of it. This is a game that plays with the player's expectations.
This is the most powerful ending in my opinion.
Yeah, I love it. Though I think my favorite ending is either the Broom Closet ending or maybe the Confusion ending. I hope Gopher comes back to this ending sometime later after having checked out a few other ones. I hope you play more of this Gopher. I think you will enjoy it. This game will keep you on your toes.
omg another ep already! I'm so happy
Interesting and thought provoking game, I like the choices "conundrums" presented to the player, reminds me of the Matrix Red or Blue pill choice.
I must say that this game is hilarious. I, like Gopher, had only ever heard the title of this game, and had no idea what to expect. I am grateful, though, that I never did. the broom closet would have been SOOOO funy if you stayed there for longer hahaha ;D
I admire your willingness to let the game mess with your head.
I love it. Thanks for this Gophs.
I think I figured it out. This game is about anti-immersion. Rather than extending the player into the game world, the game extends into the player. That is to say, in Soviet Russia, game plays you.
You should do more blind lets plays. This is hilarious! :P
allready played many of the possible ways in this game, funny to look what ur are doing , and what desissions you make x) and realy interessting......
One of the best games I've ever played
Seeing that the narrator's ridiculous instructs bother Gopher, each time I had been helplessly driven to vicious feelings of pleasure... The narrator is basically mean at all, but I love his nastiness as well as Gopher's gentleness.

Any game that drives Gopher up a tree of frustration is a good game.:-)
This is GREAT game!
Every choice is leading to separate sequence of occasions!
(Spoiler: there is no actual winning or failing state. It's all just a giant Moebius strip)
I hope you do all the endings!! :)
when you said freedom is a posibility you made me think i want to see bear grilz play this game
can you imagine the narrator having his own narrator?
that would be hilarious/creppy :)
This game is frikken creepy as hell!! I'm going to enjoy this :)
I love how they put all this "behind the scenes" stuff on display just to drive home the point of how all possible paths have already been plotted out. Its literally putting your lack of agency in the story on display.
I love you playing this haha
Holy hell this is the perfect game for Gopher :D
Around 7:27 is the first time I've ever heard Gopher say Fuck
Sorry to disappoint but you heard incorrectly. That was just me making random noises :)
Gopher A boy can dream
+Gopher
If you loved this game you should maybe try Antichamber it's a fabulous game Mr.Gopher :)
This is the most amazing game ever!
I think Im going to buy this before I watch any more of this LP. Looks fantastic and extremely creepy.
Gopher, what is your opinion of this game? Is it just creeping you the hell out or just enough to be enjoyable? The textures and meshes, lighting, mood look top notch
Matt Van Vrancken I am not Gopher for sure, but if you decided to get this game, you should stop reading/watching anything about it right now, and just buy it and play it,

DUCT TAPE!...oh wait...wrong game :)
I'm looking forward to part 3 so much I cant stand it XD
Wow you found the secret credits ending before anything else, like me.
The game actually said the only way to win is not to play!
ok you need to stay in the broom clostet untill after he stops talking then when it restarts go back into the broom closet and do the same.
another you need to do is the opposite of what you are told to do and when you get onto the cargo lift jump off onto the walkway below and continue doing the thing he asks you not to do
Why do I get the feeling that the Narrator and GLaDOS from Portal would be total bros ?
I love this game, i love Gopher.
Oh god. After watching so far, my mind's like "How to lose your Sanity? Play Stanley Parable". I love it.
Will you upload more parts if there's more things to discover?
I never seen him this freaked before
CONFUSED? you will be you will be (said in my paltry attempt at a yoda voice)
Did you get the broomcloset ending yet? The broomcloset ending is my favorite!
Why did they make this spoiler-heavy ending so easy to get.
It isn't, i have played this game a lot and never got to that room, it just seems that he is good at doing the wrong thing
Yes it is, just follow the narrator's directions then turn left and follow the "escape" sign before the mind control station.
Considering the amount of endings, this probably won't be one of the first 3 you get.
mrbitbot Thats assuming the player followed narrator's directions. I spent the first half of my playthrough just trying to break the rules and never even got to the boss's office. Spoilers aren't a big deal for this game either because the story and endings aren't the main point. The fun of the game is all the narration and events that happen in-between the endings.
Dylan V. the plot is loose and therefore can be packaged as linked short stories
Chris is in the broom closet.
I like the nope.avi at 6:05
I shall begin to question everything!
This game I tell ya...
Now I want to buy this game. :D
Oh, philosophy. The way to win that path was to exit the game before Stanley was crushed.
This is Crazy but I will watch till the end lol
i dont understand :(
written and designed by Satan - Gopher 12:40 XD
Yesterday I almost got an ending I don't think I've seen before, but I opened a door and got stuck between the door and the wall and couldn't get out or close the door. So I had to restart. I was so pissed.
Haha, I love your reactions Gopher ! But why didn't you stay in that broom closet ? :D
MOAR
I wonder who's shutting the doors behind you ?
your mom
KilleroyCZ Can't fault the logic there can I ?
I couldn't resist
Sorry I cannot read your comment because your nickname is too loud
:D
ok.... hello.... I like to leave now.... Funny as hell Gopher! Part 3 please!
Mic volume is a bit low. Keep em' coming, Gopher!
Small tip Gopher. If you are still continuing the game, do not read these comments! Full of spoilers! If you are still reading this comment, please stop!
that game was made for the sole purpose of mindfuckery
It's like Silent Hill / Stephen King / modern Lovecraft!
14:25 It said there was a freedom ending in BETA.
This game can be a total mind-fuck!
yay more gopher!
Genius Game
There is at least 10 endings in this game try doing them all :D THERE ALL GOOD!
ํํI was shocked at 10:04!!!
Huh, this game seems really interesting
Awesome ;-)
I can just imagine: The Stanley Parable season pass: includes the DLC pack "choice". Buy now...fools. ;)
FREEDOM!
