Actually I think that it IS possible somehow to get it .. the thing is, the dev who was in charge for that achievement was a super-duper-troll and changed the condition for it with every version of the game which was pusblished... resulting in that nobody really knows anymore, how to actually achieve it. :P
427 is your number, it's an anagram of 24/7 I guess. This isn't a conventional game where the object is to beat it. Rather, it's an experience in exploring the philosophy between the gamer and the narrator. Go through the door on the right, and jump down from the moving platform onto the gangwalk below ;-)
The narrator seems to represent the game developer. Trying to tell their distinct story and thus directing the player towards the key points of the story. The farther away the player gets from the story, the more frustrated the narrator gets. It's a battle between what a game developer's vision is and the way the player experiences their game.
you forget the loading screen says, "THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END...." In other words, all the endings that you get are valid.
***** They are good buddies, Also Chay needs time to relax especially from that pants shitting game. Everyone needs to prepare their bowels if they want to conquer that game.
***** When I played outlast, i sing songs and talk to the psycho patients as if they were real people. Usually half of all the things I talked to them its mostly insults and what I'd to if i had a pistol with me in the asylum.
Well, the game (and the mod it is a remake of) is written and designed by an American [A Texan, in particular, iirc. Or at least Davey lives in Austin, Texas at the moment], so the humor of the game isn't quite what one would call British, outside of the Narrator having a British accent. :p
And so our favorite lovable dark lord turned librarian descended further into madness. I just keep picturing Stiv in a red shirt and iconic helmet, fuming at the computer with lightning crackling at his fingertips. I meanwhile am sitting here with a bowl of chips watching this while laughing my ass off.
If you haven't figured it out by now, or haven't been spammed to hell by people in the comment section. The whole point of Stanley Parable is to try to discover different endings by trying to break the game in different ways. Oh and the game is a satirical commentary on game design and the relationship between player character and the player.
This ending makes a very good point. If the only way you can win a game about finding freedom of choice is to abandon your freedom of choice... have you really won at all?
Ok, i will stop watching gophers stanley parable let's plays because they are so damn good! ;-) Seriously, i just heard about this game one or two times, never really thought about playing it. But after watching this i really need to play this. Sounds so great and the idea behind it is so fantastic. Gosh, i don't want to spend any more money for games this month but now.... Thanks gopher for this awesome series!
Stanley is just like Number Six from that Prisoner TV Series. Gopher do you know the TV series named the Prisoner? It first aired in 1967 and the continued to show it up to the late 90's. There are other more recent versions of the show. Escape is an illusion. There is only obedience.
To really get the most of this game, you've got to play two or three games in a row, cos it changes with each restart. If you exit the game then it resets, but if not then you get different options and the narrator actually acknowledges that this is your second time around
The irony is that while you were "free", you really wern't because you are really giving in to the contol of the narrator and he is the one telling you are free while in reality, as long as you are doing what he tells you you arn't free. On the other hand, is there any way to leave the building without giving over control to the narrator...
That does seem to be the point. That even if there is an illusion of choice in video games, there really isn't any choice whatsoever. Choosing different outcomes may alter your game or your story, but those choices are already programmed down specific routes. You're following a pre-programmed narrative regardless, although you may go down different routes. Basically.
Oh Gopher, I am looking forward to the moment you realize the true objective of this game and start really getting creative. There's still SO much to see.
Hey Gopher, if you're wondering what game would be cool to play after the Richard playthroughs finished, you should play the Penumbra games. They were made by Frictional Games the people who made The Dark Descent and it's a really good survival horror game :)
THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE ENDTHE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END lol missed maybe a couple of spaces
Gopher your probably not gonna read this and you probably now but, The game cannot be beaten. It cannot be won. It is for what you think the best way to live life is. To follow the things set before you or listen to your own mind. To choose between left or right.
Isn't the point that the only real choice you have is to play or not to play. Every ingame choice is a series of predetermined options. As such, you can't "beat" the game. You can just follow various threads asigning feelings of achievement or failure. By playing the game, it has beaten you. You are the rat in the maze. Even if you get the cheese, it was put there by someone else for you to find. If you end up in a trap... that was also put there by someone else for you fo find. You have no real freedom of choice, just options presented to you with pre-determined outcomes. Trying to beat the game will lead to frustration. Just exploring it will lead to a laugh.
oh gopher dont you get it, you dont beat the game, the game beats you
In Soviet Russia...
This may sound cheesy but this is a lovely playthrough, its calm, and it has 2 hilarious narrators.
I see what you did there :)
You don't really beat the game until you've seen all but a few very time consuming endings. And one easter egg that's really worth checking out.
But how do you get there xD i mean i visited them both but how?
You can't beat the game until you finish all 18 endings :D
+ he must get the unachievable Achievement.
Seriously, if he get's that one, I applause him standing in front of my pc.
Isn't there more than 18?
Live Life unachievable Achievement has no condition to be achieved so the only way to get it is by hacking.
Actually I think that it IS possible somehow to get it .. the thing is, the dev who was in charge for that achievement was a super-duper-troll and changed the condition for it with every version of the game which was pusblished... resulting in that nobody really knows anymore, how to actually achieve it. :P
Ivan Chuprinov
No he subjugated himself to the game.
427 is your number, it's an anagram of 24/7 I guess.

I enjoyed unplugging the phone XD
you forget the loading screen says, "THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END...." In other words, all the endings that you get are valid.
Golwen
fair point.
Or all invalid. :)
Erik Forbes
mmmm, Idk about that.
I just ended up forgetting what I had or hadn't done
what are you doing here, watching gopher??....go record outlast part 3
*****
They are good buddies, Also Chay needs time to relax especially from that pants shitting game. Everyone needs to prepare their bowels if they want to conquer that game.

When I played outlast, i sing songs and talk to the psycho patients as if they were real people. Usually half of all the things I talked to them its mostly insults and what I'd to if i had a pistol with me in the asylum.
God so much subtle commentary, irony, and insight in every word. This game is infinitely smarter than I am.
This game was made for Gopher.
"No! I beat the game! I beat the game! Oooohb... Flmmlrrr!"
Thank you :*)
I'd watch Gopher and The Narrator torment each other on TV.
02:00 Sorry Gother but that narator really got you good this time! :D
How I love that British humor. Fabulous.
Well, the game (and the mod it is a remake of) is written and designed by an American [A Texan, in particular, iirc. Or at least Davey lives in Austin, Texas at the moment], so the humor of the game isn't quite what one would call British, outside of the Narrator having a British accent. :p
This is my favorite let's play of all time
How I loved when you realized it doesn't end by beating the game :D
"Oh fuck" xD
You will never be told where to go or what to feel.
10 seconds later
Stanley went out the door, and he felt...
This game is gold, after watching you play it, I went and watched all endings
Also please do the other endings
my favorite ending was the broom closet ending :3
Dragoon-BB lol me too
Dragoon-BB my favourite ending was the middle bit with the line.
Dragoon-BB Oh that would have been wonderful. I will just pretend that you did. Either that or we can just reset this conversation and start over.
Nova Sky NO your favorite ending is the broom closet ending!
Theres something... magic about Gopher's crazyness over the whole "But i beat the game, i beat the game! Oh F...!!!" XD
The urge to go downstairs at the staircase, man!
The End is Never, Gopher, NEVER.
This game's achievements are a jeerest stuff I've seen in latest time.
Haha,, do what your told...
Beat the game.... Opps no you haven't
Final thing: In your first ending, You had a second option besides picking up the phone.
Huge kudos to the voice actor who narrated this game (and I don't mean Gopher). Such emotion!
The end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the end
I was hoping for the "Secret Disco Ending" :/ Oh well, maybe next time :]
I'm trying so hard not to watch these any faster than they are being uploaded, but it's so damn difficult... So good! ^_^
these are great man, yesterday i watched part 1 and 2, and it pulled me out of my depression.
Yeees, more Gopher torture
"No longer will stnley be told what to feel" the narrators last words "Stanley felt good"
NOOO you must go to the broom closet and just sit there the dialog is amazing!
The ending made it all the more awesome. Gopher keep this up you got a devoted fan here.
The "Freedom" ending was supposed to be a contradiction. The narrator was still describing what you were feeling and doing.
"Yes! I've beat the game!" - famous last words. OR, as Admiral Akhbar would say, "It's a trap!"
Oh, this is too lovely. Thank you so much for playing this game.
As many others have said: "In Stanley Parable, game beats you!"
"The end is never the end" so many endings u must get
"THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END" This is what the game says and so it shall be.
If you haven't figured it out by now, or haven't been spammed to hell by people in the comment section. The whole point of Stanley Parable is to try to discover different endings by trying to break the game in different ways.

This game is MADE for you :) I'm really enjoying this series.
I still have the original HL2 mod of this. The original was pure gold, and this looks even better!
Did you even hear what the female narrator said, the only way to bet the game is quit before it is too late
please go back to your first ending with the phone but unplug the phone instead of answering it. Its my favorite ending out of all of them.
Ok, i will stop watching gophers stanley parable let's plays because they are so damn good! ;-)

Thanks gopher for this awesome series!
i love seeing gopher argue with the game that makes no sense
I'm really loving this game
Stanley is just like Number Six from that Prisoner TV Series. Gopher do you know the TV series named the Prisoner? It first aired in 1967 and the continued to show it up to the late 90's. There are other more recent versions of the show.

Btw walking out of the elevator right after pressing the button is a hidden ending I believe.
The irony is that while you were "free", you really wern't because you are really giving in to the contol of the narrator and he is the one telling you are free while in reality, as long as you are doing what he tells you you arn't free. Chris is still in the broom closet...according to the grease board.
Ah! Finely! I always wanted this.
The end is never Gopher, The end is never.....
The Narrator reminds me of the Think Tank in Old World Blues
you were, still are, and assuredly always will be, number 427 Gopher
lol, this ending is pure comedy
LOL! Calming new age music. @_@
Great video Gopher :)
The game never ends
Just checked.
There's 18 endings, Each differing widely from each other.
Gopher, did you not notice the load screen? NEVERTHEENDNEVERTHEENDNEVERTHEENDNEVERTHEEND-
Go into the broom closet and wait there.
Oh Gopher, I am looking forward to the moment you realize the true objective of this game and start really getting creative. There's still SO much to see.
This is brilliant! :D

Argh Open that damn door again! The Secret Whiteboard ending is so close!
Hey Gopher, if you're wondering what game would be cool to play after the Richard playthroughs finished, you should play the Penumbra games. They were made by Frictional Games the people who made The Dark Descent and it's a really good survival horror game :)

the game _wants_ you to think you've beaten the game...
I think your only co-worker is Kharjo, and he's just lost again.
Aww man, you should've picked the other button.

There's at least 10 endings I believe.
I think it's actually 18.
Which version are you playing Gopher?
The original or the HD Remix?
