Aretha Franklin: Case Study In Respect, Soul & Feminine Bravado

  • When I think of Aretha Franklin I think of feminine swag, soul, and over-the-top antics. I think of a woman who excelled because she shared her gift with the world, and she lived totally and completely unapologetically. Her life is a grand case study for how we as women command respect, take charge of our destiny, and live with soul!
***In regards to Aretha's mother, I note that the story of her 'leaving' is contested. This is because I do not know, for sure, the reason and the purpose of the video is much greater. She did leave, but it is VERY likely that it was due to abusive and/or oppressive conditions with Aretha's father CL Franklin. The point of mentioning that is that her departure and eventual premature death, inevitably, caused a great deal of sorrow and trauma for Aretha and her siblings.
The Five Laws of Feminine Power is my signature course on soft power, seduction and feminine energy.

Wow. Ayesha your videos are amazing. You choose your words with such care and elegance yet nothing you say appears weak. Everything is grounded but still very emancipating. You really are what you preach.
And Aretha was a force of life! RIP

Kolkhoz Woman I concur and your facts are intact! Not a message of negativity and falsehoods. The only remark that is incorrect is of the notion that her mother abandoned her children. She abandoned her husband, it was said by all her children that she and her children visited each other as often as they could. She was also not financially able to care for and house her five children once she left her husband.

Laniqua & Kaniqua thank you. There are more videos but I am not a professional TH-camr nor is that my goal. I write, speak and run a digital platform for a living and the team is small. These videos are an extension of womenlovepower. When I step away, it’s not laziness or disinterest, it’s because I’m working on other aspects of the business, like courses which take at least 6 months of exhaustive creative labor to complete. And there is only one of me. I hope you enjoy what I can offer , when I do, and fortunately there are many you tubers out there sharing their 2 cents as well.

As Neapolitans, we are really proud of our blackness.
Most of us descend from North Africa, between the many cultures that influenced our genes.
We are the most feminine place in Italy, in my opinion. My land is volcanic and this speaks for itself.
    Napoli is a woman.
    She’s a lover.
    She’s a mother.
    She’s a child.
And she can be so wise…
That kind of wisdom that comes from your gut, that comes from your soul.
Womanhood has always been a thing for my, being a Neapolitan, since I was a very young woman
Our “womaness”… has always been a thing.
    The thing.
We know how to song the song our these times.
As most southern people of the world.
    And it is our time.
It is time for our soul to speak.
It’s time to put things right.
    And to find other ways.

Her mother didn’t just abandon her. Her father was a promiscuous cheAt who impregnated a young girl himself. Her mother couldn’t take the abuse and left but still sent for the children many summers until she died. Back then it was hard to get custody for women who left.

I LOVE this episode, however, how does one fight off the hate and jealousy that accompany these traits? Some people will literally try to harm a person that dears to speak their mind and walk in their truth. How do you protect your energy, essence and peace of mind in a world/space that refuses to value you? The last 5mins served as a reminder for what matters. No experience good or bad is a waste. It texturisers one's life and a reminder to never live in the past.

This is the 4th video of yours I am watching. I always check the comments once I finish to see what women are taking from each one. Sadly though, I've come to notice something missing. Where are the men? All the men like myself, who are confident enough in their "masculine power" that they can bend the knee and support females as they find their way back to their true power. Those who supposedly are crying out for the return of the "woman".
