I just discovered this, but every time Timothy Olyphant appears in the show, Conan lost control of the conversation, the producers lost control of the show, the cameraman gets more "creative", and Andy becomes Timothy's sidekick all of a sudden. I love it.
Him, Norm (RIP), Ricky Gervais and that chic who made Conan feel uncomfortable in the late 90s were those guests that make Conan defeated and do the "You can't beat 'em, join 'em".

I mean he absolutely crushed it and stole every scene in Santa Clarita Diet. The show wouldn't have worked nearly as well without him. His reactions to everything were so natural and good.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Timothy is one of the best recurring guests. The dynamic between them is so delightfully silly and organic, that, when he got on Conan's podcast, it was one of the most maniacal and pointless and beautiful episodes ever.
That's what every casual conan fans say. They've been watching him for 2 months and think they know all about conan. You have a lot to get caught up on.
These too have a definite chemistry. They just go back and forth with the jokes. They're like those two goofy brothers at school who make everyone laugh.
Very humble comedic genius, can write brilliant stuff right off the top of his head, that's why he thrived at the Simpsons (but was too sharp and off-the-wall to be contained in a typical writer's room).
stephen colbert said conan is 10x funnier without cameras on, and can do it nonstop for hours. he didn't believe it when his executive producer told him at first, but when he had that dinner with conan at the skiing place, he finally understood. that's why we enjoy conan's improv so much, because he has unlimited material without needing a script if you let him run wild.
