Sony HBD 50 has single-sided drives. Replacing the ROM makes sense only if you install double-sided drives instead. I've done this with Philips hardware, so it may be also possible for Sony.
Original floppy drives have a bad problem - they usually have one or both heads broken (dead). And this can't be fixed. Replacement is only possible with the specially modded drives where DC and RDY signals are correctly routed. Bas has these drives in stock.
@@alexwierzbowsky Hi, I know, but my units from my F900 in another MSX work fine, they only give disk offline in the F900 and other modified PC units also give disk offline, so I think it is an internal problem of my F900 and I have already changed the disk controller for a new one and it is still the same, I only have to change the disk bios.

CALL FORMAT ask for Drive (A,B) nothing else
@@yamaha2261 a double sided drive with rom support would ask 360 or 720 as a question also.
Hi, i own 2 Philips 8280. I do not need it rearly. Is the small Akku in the 8280 a danger for that Unit because leaking and so. Thanks
Hi, I have a F900 that has a Disk Offline problem on both floppy drives, could it be the same problem? I suppose the same Disk ROM would work.

Toen je nog aan je spullen kon/mocht sleutelen en niet je hele console gebricked wordt of dat alles vast gesoldeerd is.
