    Thanks! Great video!
    Would love to see you set up one from scratch in a lab environment, step by step.
    Keep 'em coming as we appreciate them so much.

      I would absolutely love to do an in-depth tutorial on setting a system like this up! The issue is that with my current resources, I'd need to make some compromises that I don't normally like making. For instance, having one or two handsets (such as the Cisco SPA504G units that I showed in the video) would be necessary to show the client/phone-side setup, and that's more of an investment than I'm usually able to make in a single video. I could use softphones instead, but I like to lean towards practice rather than theory. I'd also need to buy a SIP trunk for at least a month.
      We've gotten a few new Nerd Club members recently, so I may be able to do this a little later in the year and make a series out of it.

    24:00 the problem you seem to have encountered regarding knowing if another person is on a call or not sounds like the perfect use case for the BLF or busy light field (which you did mentioned) the whole point of the BLF is knowing if another person is on a call or not, if they are on a call the BLF key or Button will usually turn red, otherwise it will be green which means that phone line is not in use and you can call them..

    Does free pbx allow another sip, if i bring my own trunk?

    You need to research blf keys. The red/green lights will do the in-use status.

    Hey! I'm new to FreePBX. I've set up Raspbx on a Raspberry Pi 4 and would like to make calls using a 4G SIM router (TP Link - TL-MR6500v/ VoLTE, VoIP, VoiceMail). The router works fine on the RJ11 port with a standard phone.
    I previously attempted to use the chan_dongle module, but it appears that the 4G SIM doesn't work with it. I don't believe the mobile carrier provides any SIP settings for 4G SIMs. Is it possible to connect the VoIP router with Raspbx over Ethernet?

    thank u for this great video!
    one thing consider using "screen" it will help u open "multiple tabs" of ur session. its on Debian and ubuntu. thanks again for sharing

    • @NerdOnTheStreet
      @NerdOnTheStreet  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've already been using "screen" for years. It's not always great to use in videos because it's less visual and thus more confusing for viewers. In my experience, it's more useful to keep programs running after exiting an SSH session.

    Greate! you'd better share how to add a gsm gateway for the external call by a gsm module or dongle.

    From the modules screen it looks like you have not paid for any of the commercial modules. How are you able to add users, phones, and extensions without these commercial modules? Am I missing something? From what I'm seeing I can't even use a mobile app without the commercial module.

    • @NerdOnTheStreet
      @NerdOnTheStreet  ปีที่แล้ว

      The commercial modules are for extended functionality; none of the basic functionality like adding uesrs/phones/extensions are behind commercial modules. I'm not familiar with the mobile app, but I can imagine that being something behind a commercial module since someone needs to spend their time developing the app and paying to have it on the Apple and Google app stores. (The web-based interface is not commercial.)

      Sorry, that's why the video is titled "Showcase" and not "Tutorial," "Guide," or "Setup." A setup guide is on my long list of things to do when I figure out how to get the infinite free time and money that people assume I have.
      The setup was a huge ordeal; I recall that I referenced at least one video on Louis Rossmann's channel (along with the official documentation) if you're having trouble.

    Nice video!
    So, have you tried freepbx on a raspbian/rpi?
    That will be very usefull fo many people that roles a microbusiness and need something like 2 or 3 sales person on the phone.
    Can you show the installation and setup?
    Thanks, by the way
    You're videos are very cool and usefull.

      Like I mentioned in the video, FreePBX _requires_ a 64-bit processor-- specifically, an x84_64/AMD64 architecture. Raspberry Pi uses an ARM architecture, not x86_64. There are some separate projects (like RasPBX) that bring Asterisk and some of the FreePBX frontend to ARM devices, but the FreePBX distro itself and many FreePBX modules will not work. For what it's worth, the server I showed in the video is running in a VirtualBox machine and the performance is fine, so you don't need to dedicate an entire bare metal server, you just need to have something to run it on.

      I used it but RasPBX is very unstable and the distro corrupts very frecuente.
