    I started my CGM journey in 2013 when the curly/wavy hair specific products were not even a thing and I had to actually just use google while going through the ingredient list to understand if a shampoo or conditioner was even cg friendly. I agree with you that the community has come long way from there and the new brands need to catch up on that. packaging and competitive pricing is a must along with well researched ingredients.

It's very refreshing since most people on TH-cam and Instagram sell and influence for anything and everything irrespective of the potential damage it could do to it's users (their audience who trusted them,)

    I started my cg journey without even realising i was starting it because all I knew was normal shampoos do not work for me. I started using Johnson's baby shampoo because i thought my hair was weak and unhealthy so a mild shampoo is best for me because thats what i was told that you hair is fine and easily frizzy as i fine but medium dense curly hair 3a -3b hair. After i started using Johnsons baby shampoo and aroma magic cream shampoo back in 2010-2011 when inwas still a teenager just going by gut feeling it started working for me. My hair started to look mych better..then later the cg method became a thing qnd we now have so many products. My current favourites are cantu avacado shampoo and leave in cream. i really like the coconut milk hair mask by wow. I'm also now getting ashba hair mousse because on top my hair usually dont get enough volume because the products i use are necessary for moisture but can eventually weigh the hair down so I'm thinking of using the mousse on top and leave in cream at the bottom. Hopefully It will work.

    Great video Michelle! I love your honesty. There are such few Indian wavy hair influencers and you're the only one who has done such extensive reviews on products and techniques.
    I bought Curlvana shampoo, conditioner, leave-in and gel. The shampoo was just about passable but I honestly don't see myself using it. The conditioner was HORRIBLE. I lost so much hair detangling that I got mad. Then I tried the leave in conditioner which was decent. The conditioner put me off so much that I don't even wanna try their gel despite having it. I'm gonna give them all away or throw them because my heart became so heavy losing hair with the conditioner. When you have one bad experience with a brand, it's very hard to give them a second chance because now we have so many good CG friendly brands that you can't fuck up. (excuse my language please).
    Currently, I'm loving using the Requil yellow and pink conditioners as both conditioners and leave-ins, Ashba leave in, northwish gel and Ashba gel. Arata blue gel is nice but the hold is horrible. I like the Arata new gel too but i only use it for special occasions when I want my waves to hold up well for a function. All thanks to your reviews I use Indian brands now and have saved my money on foreign brands.
    Michelle, I noticed that you haven't reviewed the Manetain products. I was waiting for the review. They are much talked about in the curl community. I'd love your thoughts! Thank you 😃

      Thanks for sharing.
      So the thing is, i have to try lots and lots of products. I have my hands full already.
      I hate speed testing and then moving on. I prefer having enough experience with a product to be able to advice and inform properly. I take a couple of months to digest what a product does, see how my opinions develop and change and then i slowly move onto the next. Thats just now i like going about my content. I like to keep it organic and well informed.
      There are lots of brands that i haven't tried, simply because i spend months with the stuff i already have.
      Also things will expire if i don't use them. I'd hate wasting my money that way. I'd rather use what i have, build up opinions in the right manner and then move onto something new.
      I'll get to the other brands slowly but surely but I'm in no rush.
      Right now I'm testing lots and lots of leave in conditioners. It's been taking up a chunk of my time.
      You can wait for the 40 % arata sale to grab the new gel. I saw it 441 Rs a few days back. They have the sale almost every month. Once you finish the gel, keep an eye out for the 40% sale. I'm going to pick up a few tubes of the new gel as well. Just waiting for the right time.

      You could try the curyana gel. It's nice imo. Thick gel, medium hold, work on super wet hair. I think you'll like it.

    Heyyy!! General question, I haven't fully begun CGM but am facing a lot of hairfall, probably due to the water at my place. Would you recommend that I'd use an egg mask to build protein and nutrition to my roots?

      No no. I don't think so. If you are facing hairfall and have not started cg then speak to a doctor. I am not qualified to help with hair fall.

    I have a doubt mam...just started CGM . 3 weeks now ....my hair is dry and frizzy, with flyaways on top of my head and mid-lengths. But the ends look nice, moisturised with beautiful waves. I am so tempted to use my comb...but I think it will ruin my end waves. I apply my conditioner and leave in on my hair upside down. I think it is 2B . Still figuring it out. I am wondering if it is due to over washing perhaps. I concentrate the shampoo only on my scalp. I am still to start deep conditioning. I also don't use gel or mousse...since I am at home all day and figure I will use styling products when I have to go out. Any suggestions on how to help the dry and frizzy roots and mid lengths.

    That does happen to me with i guess every product. I mean no product gives me a slip like how u say in many of your videos. And now that I have figured out that my hairs are low porous can you suggest me that one conditioner which might provide me a slip. Becuase i need to spend lot of time detangling my hairs.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the best thing for you to do is to switch to the video thumbnail i inserted in the video. It's called wavy hair routine. No wet detangling. Don't wet detangle if your conditioner is not giving you slip.
      I would never ever say that a conditioner has slip if i wasn't my honest experience. This much i say with my whole heart.

    • @harshalakamble6259
      @harshalakamble6259 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No no. You misunderstood me. I didn't mean that u said wrong. It's my hair texture that isn't taking it. I was just obsessed with your that one comment "incredible slip". That's it. I didn't take it as an accusation. If you watched the video i said haircare is subjective and it's possible for you to dislike products i love. I also answered your question in the video. Hi Michelle I'm thinking about starting CGM for my 2B hairs. I do have a sulfate free shampoo by st. Botanica and this shampoo really suits my hairs. Can I continue it in CGM..? Can you pls tell..

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you've decided to do CGM check if the shampoo is silicone free.
      If you're merely wanting to try a wavy curly hair styling routine, you can use any products. They don't have to be cg friendly.
      My advice would be to first decide if you want to follow the curly girl method. Would you want to go sulphate silicone paraben and alcohol free?
