It's so funny I looked up Dark Souls 3 couple days ago and specifically looked up dancer boss fight as I have played the game few years ago and now just by looking at that thumbnail I know it's a 2D depiction of Dark Souls 3 the dancer boss fight
The first 4, #'s 6 and 7 really have my attention (and a few others), but where is Gestalt? Heartfelt alicia (?) Mandragora, Sand and siege fox(?), As well as a bad ass cyber ninja game (the name escapes me atm)? All of these games had a ton of promise, but I haven't heard anything in a while about em... hope they're still in development.
If I had a dollar for every time I watched a video titled "best metroidvanias in 2024" that showed mostly games that come out in 2025 or later I'd be a rich man.
Honestly I can't F wit these 8 bit throwback lazy @zz games. If you want a QUALITY MODERN metroidvania with tons of combat mechanics & really good graphics made with love: F.I.S.T. Forged in shadow torch...puts these to shame.
Ever watch manga recap vids? I swear... Way too many of those people have not gone to school or have been deaf 80% of their lives lmao... Ever hear a seemingly grown guy pronounce protagonist as 'PRO-ta-GUN-ist while speaking in a perfect English accent? It gets baaaad, and they never learn. Like, look up the pronunciations of words you don't know how to say on the internet, you dingle berries lol

Ignore Meatspinner 2, I mean Timespinner 2. If it's anything like the first, the game play will be good but the rest of everything else is literally world of woke mental illness delusional cancer. The first game did a good job of hiding the cancer until sub quests which was about halfway in making it too late to refund. So, calling it out now.
Shadow ninja reborn and silent planet are having nice design. Other games feels off. But silent planet is just boring 2 hours to kill enemy another piece of modern shit.

Ronin Rush gives off old school vibes but at the same time a mobile format gameplay. So it's currently a mix for me. Hopefully it delivers.
