  • Appearing for a short time in mail-order video game ads, Yeah Yeah Beebiss I is a video game known by title only. So today, we'll take a look at it ourselves and see if we can figure out what exactly this game is supposed to be.
A big thank you to PatMac for making such a nice looking title card as well!

Imagine if there's a alternate universe where Yeah Yeah Beebiss I became just as popular as Mario or Pokémon, and one of those series ended up only getting a single, obscure canceled game.

It was going to be a game with Beavis as the protagonist. Remember how he used to say "yeah yeah" a lot?

I can confirm that Beebis was not a copyright trap, simply because this sort of list can't be copyrighted. According to a Supreme Court case, you can't copyright a list because you didn't create anything and that effort doesn't factor into a copyright case.

There's actually a lot of weird things about that particular game pricing chart - notice how "Dragon Ninja" is part of the list? There was no game released in the U.S. for NES called Dragon Ninja... Dragon Ninja, however, is the Japanese title for Bad Dudes, and Bad Dudes also happens to be on that list.

I'm not going to lie, Lost Media kind of makes me both sad and feels weird.

Actually, Yeah Yeah Beebiss didn't NEED to exist to be on the list. You can see "Return of Donkey Kong" listed, which is a cancelled game.

I can imagine someone making a creepy pasta out of this.

What if it was just due to a hilarious problem with the phone lines? Back in the 80s landline phone quality was often hit and miss (the fastest speed you could get over the phone line was 33.8 Kbps in the 90s due to this). Either that, or they had a terrible answering machine tape.

This was probably a homebrew game that someone traded in as a "licensed" Nintendo game

I wonder if it's possible that it was a bootleg game? There were a lot of obscure bootleg games for the nes.

I found "Street Fighter" on the list of games, along with the cancelled "Return of Donkey Kong," which weren't released.

I'm starting to think the creators of this list WERE speculating prices of then-soon-to-be-released games. On that list are also "Price is Right" and "Password". It's pretty safe to assume that "Password" is short for "Super Password" a game based on the game show of the same name that was developed by Game Tek for DOS that had a cancelled NES port. If you google it, you can find a few screenshots from some magazines, but no ROM has been found.

I remember playing this game heavily as a child, it was one of my favorites, along with “Scrimmy Bingus and the Crungy Spingus”

Hey I was really interested in this game, for a while, and fascinated by your video and I wanted to tell you I actually did some kind of research and I found something I think is quite interesting.
