    I also mainly sell beats within the pop genre and also find most artists want exclusives. $300 seems to be the sweet spot as far as pricing!

    Hey ..I have a question....
    If someone buys a basic MP3 licence..but that same person wants to upgrade that particular beat licence to a premium track out licence ....
    So ....is upgrading happens automatically or ....u have to prepare an invoice for that especially in beatstars ...
    How can i let that buyer upgrade his licence......
    I'm new so ..I am looking for an answer...

    I've sold a license of a beat, but now someone's willing to buy exclusive of it, can I still sell it exclusively?

    • @joegautrey_music
      @joegautrey_music  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you can ! The other person still has a license to use the beat so no legal complications there

    Yo Joe for someone who is just starting to sell beats I want to do the business model of exclusive only. Do these pros and cons apply just the same?

    What if I wrote the song (Lyrics) and Produced the beat (Music) and the Artist/Production company wants to buy an exclusive license to the entire song? I own the entire composition and is copy-written as the sole creator. what kind of agreement should be drawn between myself and the Artist/Label/Production Company?

      The exclusive license template from BeatStars gives you 50% publishing rights which is a fair split. Labels normally want more so you had to do you research on the artist have how well you can expect the track to do then judge how much publishing you want to feel like you are getting a fair deal

    what's up bro. I got a quick question. So, I sold and exclusive beat but never had this problem the guy i sold it to has not signed the contract he ignored me when I asked him to sign it and send it back to me. But if someone does not sign a contract, does it make it null and void? or can he still use the beat and own exclusive rights to it? he said he didn't agree to the royalty's splits which is on almost any exclusive contract. at first, he wanted a refund but then he said he was cool with it he said he wasn't giving up half of his publishing rights and wanted 100% and I told him he's asking me to give up my rights. but then he eventually said OK np its cool send me some more beats if you have anything else I like ill buy them. but anyway, is the contract null and void if he never signed the contract? thanks joe.

      Yea man it’s null and void. U are the creator if the artist doesn’t agree to your terms I always tell them to buy a regular license!! Some artist are tricky and they don’t understand just how much we are giving up by selling exclusives.

    so im curious does the producer still get 50% of publishing in unlimited license

    • @joegautrey_music
      @joegautrey_music  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah it’s all in the license agreement Beatstars send to the artist. I don’t honk it’s talked about enough as so many beat makers miss this out and then miss out on royalties

    Hey bro what do i do if someone has bought a regular license to a beat I want to now sell exclusively? Is that person who didn’t buy it exclusively still able to release and monetize?

    • @joegautrey_music
      @joegautrey_music  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes because they have a license to release the song that they paid for. It just means after the exclusive license is sold it can’t be sold anymore
