What I’m personally struggling with is finding ways to keep a conversation going with those artists that send a message or comment “great beat” or something similar. I’m trying to find ways to talk to them without sounding “desperate for a sell”.

I would follow that up with something along the lines of "Thank you! If your interested in hearing more, shoot me a DM. Got alot more where that came from." That way your just inviting them in and it doesnt sound transactional, The choice is theirs. Then you just build from there. Hope this helps!

I love that you covered on this bro. I just recently got back consistent with TH-cam and I’m in the process of learning the do’s and don’t’s .. and I reached out to an artist who gave me the same energy you’re speaking of here. My eagerness to do any kind of work with him instantly died. I had so much good to about his work too 😔 but he was so caught up in strictly talkin about the money that I got a lil uncomfortable about sending anything 😐 and ended up just falling back. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I had money ready too. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I understand what you saying don't go for the money, let the money come by itself. Go for the relationship & build. Don't be needy people can feel that energy,. Show people that you actually care about what they are doing instead of just another sale. Life is like that not just beats, but any business. if you show people you actually care, be courtesy & trustworthy you'll get the sale, also keep them coming back. Almost like if you go to a store if you get bad customer service or a merchant gives you an attitude you'll leave & go somewhere else.

Yea as an artist you want a person you can work good with but artist want to pay everybody but the producer. That’s the real problem. It shouldnt be a problem when money come up. Walmart, energy, Nike, Jordan don’t talk or gaf period but people still pay. It’s only a problem when you think that person is on the same level as you or not “big”.

Problem is artist wanna work with a producer who's a human .. but lot of producers these days lack even basic social skills and talk like an A.I sales robot .. they forget music is an art first .. artist wanna make it an enjoyable process.. producers talking about prices and sales shows their neediness and neediness decreases value in anything in life !! If we have already built a relation with the artist.. chances of him stealing a beat is low and even if he steals you can put a strike ..coz you own the beat..
also mentioning a short paragraph about lease while sending beat Pack and not mentioning those in while having casual conversation or talking about the music is a good strategy .. works for me .. That way we can keep the professional and legal stuffs seperate from the personal interaction and relationship
