Every time I see Jeep Wrangler videos I always see comments about how unreliable they are, FCA sucks, blah blah. Have these people ever owned a wrangler or do people just make hate and jealousy comments for fun? All vehicles are going to have their flaws. There isn't a perfect vehicle out there and anyone saying so is lying. I've had my 2012 Jeep JK Rubicon since 2011 with the regular Pentastar V6 and have never had any major issues. I'm at 127,000+ miles and it's going strong. I change all the fluids using synthetics on a regular basis and have no issues. Hell, the stock battery even lasted all the way to 108,000 miles and a lot of cranks before I swapped it out. Sure I've had some minor issues like a leaking hard top near the passenger door corner and a radio head unit that acted up, but that's about it. Those were solved and never had the issues again. I don't know maybe i'm lucky but i know quite a few Wrangler owners and none of them have ever had major issues either.
@Quinn Dang Honestly, no never had it nor have any of my friends with Wranglers. Most death wobbles I see come from aftermarket components being installed improperly or larger tires being put on and wearing parts like bushings prematurely. I've never seen someone pull off the lot and get death wobble. Sure, it's not to say it can't happen and the factory didn't receive a bad part. I'm sure every manufacturer gets dud parts from time to time That's just part of the manufacturing process on such a large scale. Death wobble is not completely uncommon for solid axle vehicles. It's a side effect of worn components or incorrect torque. It's not like it's designed that way. If it were that common, I don't think you would see so many Wranglers on the road. However for myself, I've never honestly had it.
@@jimbov23 Me neither, I have the 19 Rubicon & just had the 2.5" Mopar lift & added 35s & it rides just like it did when I purchased it, to be honest it's noticeably smoother after removing the stock shocks & replacing them with FOX shocks in addition to the FOX steering stabilizer. I'd do it all over again if needed.
Well said!! I just ordered my dream Rubicon 2 weeks ago before the virus started and everyone at my work told me I should cancel it... I'm still employed and when I called out their jealousy they had nothing to say! Much love. Wrangler family!!

@@lavery0365 I orginally had mojito green but lost the sale to another buyer so when I ordered it they said mojito discontinued so I chose Ocean blue🥰 I may leave it stock but I'm not sure I may put slightly larger tires on it and I'm def putting step boards on it. I was told it's no longer a factory option. I like the appearance of the snorkel lol. I chose the LED package so I cannot wait shes going to be beautiful. This is my third jeep as I come from a jeep family but this will be the families first wrangler ❤ I'll have to get used to the wrangler wave lol

What ? 62 large ? I Love the JLs, I have 2016 75th Anniversary (Sahara), bought 2018 with 12K miles for 35K. Love it, but want a new Rubi with the 3.0 Diesel when my 16 is paid off.

I just bought the 4 cylinder turbo rubicon. I love it. I have no need for diesel. I also had a v6 manual jku and the new turbo with 8speed is a lot better.
No sir, one test drive on the diesel you will never want to drive back that 2.0 under powered high rpm 4 cylinder
@@satt4603 It's neither underpowered nor high rpm. Turbo 4s are stout engines.
Remember folks, diesel is good for towing and maybe good on gas mileage but once it needs service..., it's a bitch to repair and it cost more than petrol engine.
My 2019 JLU Rubicon is a gutless piece of crap. Wish I would of waited for the diesel.
Diesels have longer service life though. And they aren’t harder to repair than gas engines. Yes they are more expensive.

You r right luke..I drive a 2016 ram 2500...and maintenance is a f'n bitatch...I really want one of these for my wife also..I can get 26 to 28 (cruising ) in the city w my ram..crazy!! The maintenance I never considered when I bought and people should at least be aware of it before purchasing.

Ugh this is what I wanted in 2018. Now I'm stuck getting about 12mpg mixed on my 38s (barely 11 city, 14ish highway but I'm not running 5.11s yet so no 8th gear) and the worst part, tiny 17.5 gallon tank. I barely get 180 miles a tank. Fill up constantly on road trips and an additional tank is ridiculously expensive and only adds 3-5 gallons (I think it's around $3k for the tank). Two years after release the diesel is finally out. Get the diesel.

I heard the seats were manually operated because of traditional function. I was wondering if the heated seat feature would make it unsafe to spray down. Probably okay I’m sure.

Why is it detuned to 442 ft-lbs when it's capable of 480 though?

I've purchased two Jeeps from Larry H. Miller (Provo, Jeep). My first was a 2012 Rubicon Unlimited. This was a factory order that I had L.H. Miller's service department add many accessories to before it left the lot. My Rubicon will be eight years old this April. It's been exceptionally reliable. Our second Jeep was a 2014 Grand Cherokee eco-diesel. The Grand Cherokee was my wife's car. We sold Deb's Grand Cherokee in early 2019 as we were preparing to move to the Hawaiian Island of Molokai. (We shipped our Rubicon to Molokai in 2017 right after buying a condo.) We plan to buy a Gladiator Rubicon as Deb's next car. We have been one-hundred percent happy with our Jeeps. There is an excellent chance that we'll purchase our next Jeep, the Gladiator Rubicon that Deb will be driving from Larry H. Miller in Sandy. (We checked you folks out about two years ago when we were thinking of buying a Rubicon for use in Utah after we shipped our 2012 Ruby over to Molokai.) My wife and I will recommend a Jeep Wrangler or Grand Cherokee to anyone who is interested in buying one of these superb vehicles. Andy McKane, Maunaloa, Molokai, Hawaii.
Hopefully Chrysler improved on the reliability of the eco-diesel.. my 2015 ram eco-diesel cam gear slipped and destroyed the engine at 31,000 miles.. I absolutely loved the truck but just didn’t trust it anymore I traded it in with 60,000 miles on the truck.

not yet. a neighbor has a Jeep diesel and the engine blew up at 50,000 miles. In the shop for several weeks and still no completion date.

A local dealer told me that it will be available in 2 doors eventually. They expect an overwhelming amount of sales in the 4 door and want to wait until supply can catch up enough to offer in 2 door as well.

KBB puts it around 47k trade in value. Anyway I just want a straight forward fair deal indent need them to give it away

With the Pentastar it already had enough power to pull more. looks like the body on frame won't allow for more. The removable top and doors makes it prone to torsion. The Grand Cherokee with the Pentastar pulls like 1000 lbs more, I guess on account of its monochasis which makes it more rigid

@@stevejones5808 All new 2020 jeeps ,with the diesel option, will receive heavy duty Dana 44 axles 3.73:1 gear ratio , Front and rear. Jeep sport, Jeep sport S, Sahara, and rubicon all receive this type axles, with that gear ratio. Rubicon will still be equipped with electric lockers only.
It’s nice 👍 and I like the Diesel engine option but yes it’s pricey! I hope dealerships start to order these and have them available on their lots soon on the east coast.

wind noise from the door near hood joints?. Both sides! I hear no noise from the roof at
all. The dealers all claim it's the roof but I rented one and plugged the
door/frame hole with towels and the wind noise went away. They need to fix
that. These vehicles do not spend their life overland they spend their life on
expressways and highways. For the kind o money they ask, a Ford or Chevy 4x4
truck is a hell of a lot quieter.

Diesel fuel is more expensive. With the $4000 dollar price above a gas engine and the fuel costing around a dollar more per gallon you can do a lot of upgrades like larger tires maybe a lift as well. Repairs on that engine are going to be much more expensive. I think I'll stick with the gas engine. It might be a good engine but the jeep itself has gotten ridiculously expensive, so unless I get super rich between now and then I think I'll buy the gas model.

No one seems to realize that Wranglers hold their value exceptionally well? You could by the Jeep in the video, put 50k miles on it over 3 years, and sell it for 50k. Sure, there are many other options out there that are worth the price initially, but they won't hold their value.

As an apprentice technician for Chrysler... A Diesel Jeep Wrangler is an awesome idea but those ecodiesel engines are a piece of shit. Hope everybody that buys them is prepared to have DEF and EGR problems... Constantly...

I beg to differ I had the 3 litre diesel grand Cherokee and it shit all over the v6 petrol version.
Alex Slabosnitskiy jump over to TFL’s channel to see an actual heads up test of the Ecodiesel against the V6 gas, and other vehicles. You are going to be quite surprised what that amount of torque will do. Yea, they tested against a truck with a hemi too. I’ll be ordering my $60K Ecodiesel soon too. I also didn’t flinch when I bought my wife a $55K 4Runner TRD Pro in 2017. Nice things ain’t cheap. I couldn’t afford such things when I was young.
