    I have the Gladiator Rubicon Ecodiesel. I drove the gas Gladiator and the ride was much better in the diesel. Probably from the added weight of the motor. I get 24 mpg city 28 highway at 75 mph. Also I have the Fox shocks and Falcon Wildpeak AT3 tires. Love my Gladiator.

    Hi Ben! My son bought a brand spanking new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon v6 turbocharged echo diesel in May 2021. I year later he was on the side of the road near Cold Lake, Alberta with a disfunctional vehicle. He was on his way to Emma Lake in Saskatchewan for a vacation with the family. He had just fueled up in Cold lake and the Jeep sputtered out & died on the highway. He got it towed to the Dodgy Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep dealer in Cold lake where they led him by the nose from pillar to post regarding how & why the fuel pump grenaded & who would pay for it.
    They 1st told him they "suspected" water in the fuel & sent him after the place where he last fueled up. Then they recanted & said they found "particles" in the fuel & said there would be a $10k+ bill & no warranty.
    This last weekend the repairs were completed & he went to pay the bill & pick up the Jeep. The Dodgy Dodge dealer advised that the top had been damaged in their care & offered a new one for $1300.00. He paid the man & took his Jeep home. The phone rang & it was the local Fort McMurray Dodge Dealer advising that there was a recall on the grenading diesel fuel pumps & offered an appointment to replace it! Please let people know!

      Just got that recall done on my friends 2021 jeep ecodiesel since he's out of town and let me borrow it.

    • @Darylrb1983
      @Darylrb1983 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did he go get his money back?

    • @gordbolton27
      @gordbolton27 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Darylrb1983 They led him from pillar to post blaming him, water in the fuel, foreign particles in the fuel (parts of the grenaded fuel pump!) etc. etc etc. He had the Dealer replace the engine. The day he got the Jeep home, he got a letter from the dealer he bought it from advising him that there was a recall on the engine! POS engine.
      So one could argue that eventually he recovered the cost of repairs. But he bought the vehicle new with warranty for reliable transportation & within a year he had no transportation.

    I am from the philiipines. I am watching your review because we just love diesel engines. I am a mechanic and i hate dealing with spark plugs and coil packs. Hoping to buy this soon as i get there. I don't really care about the price. Coz i know diesel engine will last 3x longer than any gas engines if not forever.😊

    I am making this my first jeep! I love the 392 but the gas mileage is not pleasant!

  • @marksandorf2072
    @marksandorf2072 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I recently drove a 392 and then a 4xE, and felt the suspension and ride were waaaaaaay better on the 392. How would you compare the ride in the EcoD to the 392 ?

    • @zacharymitchellwtx
      @zacharymitchellwtx ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've had both and I prefer ride quality and low end torque with the diesel. The 392 is fun but just not practical( for my driving style anyway).

    I have a 2022 gladiator rubicon eco-diesel. 15k miles. 442 lbs of low end crawling torque.
    I am on a aev lift and 35s probably over gmvw.
    I still get 20mpg. Was getting 27 before the wheels and weight.
    The stock rubicon suspension is horrendous. Aev makes it perfect.
    Love your reviews. To the point and honest.

    I’m not really a car guy , but I do have a jeep and I am thinking about trading it in and maybe going with the diesel version. But I was wondering could I put a cool intake in it and get more HP and better MPH?

    • @zacharymitchellwtx
      @zacharymitchellwtx ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are wanting more hp and torque get the Banks Derringer Tuner for ecodiesel and a throttle response ( Pedal Commander or Pedal Monster). You will notice a huge difference. You'll be pumping out more torque than the 392. I love the performance improvement on my diesel.

  • @cardenasrc51

    Does the eco-diesel have a belt assisted electric motor to help with the turbo lag from a dead stop?

    I was heading to buy a diesel wrangler. Then ended up buying a 392 instead.

      The 392 was my first choice but when the EcoDiesel Sahara is $60k after tax and (in my experience) gets 24 city 31 highway, vs. the 392 that makes roughly the same torque but costs $10-$20k more and make 1/2 the mpg even with 93 octane… the diesel was a clear winner
