Tomorrow is my last day before my retirement from a 20 years career. This was a second career and I am now seventy years old. The Lords timing is always perfect. As I been following Kevin’s lessons for a long time this was the message that was next for today. A perfect message my heart and soul needed today. The Lord has always been so faithful and true. I pray what ever he has for my hands to do in the time I have left here on earth, until I meet my savior face to face, let it all bring honor and glory to Him.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this. I'm certain you will see this in the excerpt section of a future Berean Searchlight. Congratulations on your retirement!
Pastor Kevin, wonderful teaching! I'm struggling with quitting smoking 😔 How can I overcome this habit? I feel like I'm letting the Lord down. What should I do?
Don't give up. Quitting will be difficult, but the freedom that comes from it is worth the struggle, and if your conscience is bothered then you must do something. Violating our conscience is not good and leads to more willingness to compromise. Romans 14 speaks of the need to use our conscience as a tool (along with Scripture of course) as a guide. Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. The person described here is someone who believed that eating meat used as a sacrifice to false gods was wrong, and by believing it but eating anyway, he became guilty, even though it wasn't true that eating the meat was wrong in the first place. This person's conscience convicted him in the "guilty" sense. Instead of allowing his conscience to convict him and keep him from doing something, his conscience convicted him because he was willing to do what he thought was wrong. If your conscience is telling you that you should quit, then unless your conscience is changed from the truth of Scripture, then you should listen. Some people are better equipped to quit cold turkey; others may need help. Whatever you do, just don't quit quiting. I'll be praying for you in this. Pastor Don Hosfeld
Thank you so much for the message! And for the prayers! It's awesome to know that having a conscious is a good thing. God bless you brother 💜
