For pulling whats the advantage to stepping up to a Freightliner hauler over a 5500 Ram,Chevy or Ford?

      Arthur great question.
There are Pros and Cons when comparing all of these options. I always like to start with what a customers needs are and work from there. What may be an advantage to you may not be an advantage to me and vice versa. That being said here we go...!
The Freightliner M2-106 and M2-112 come with MANY options. The most important one to us is the GVWR. When we spec out a Freightliner M2 with a 26,000LB GVWR and a 32,000 LB 5th Wheel hitch rating we know our customers will be able to fill the compartments with their gear and tow a 32,000 LB trailer. All while carrying 5 occupants in the cab and 100 Gallons of fuel on board.
Once we move past it's massive GVWR and GCWR we can look at the Horsepower and Torque. The M2-106 is going to be similar to the Chassis cab variants that you listed while having a bit better Torque. The M2-112 will get you into similar current diesel pick up horsepower and 1,500 or so Lb/ft Toruqe. This combined with a great view of the road and excellent stopping power the M2's are a great choice for a dedicated hauler.
We only build our bed to fit the 84" Cab-to-Axle when it comes to the Freightliner M2-106/112. This makes the over all bed length 11' and by default will give you a longer wheel base than when comparing to a 60" Cab-to-axle chassis cab truck. Even though the Freightliner has an impressive turning radius it will suffer a bit of mobility due to the longer wheel base. This is where the Chassis cab trucks shine ESPECIALLY the RAM 5500 and the Ford F-550. Vehicle height is another thing to consider when running "bob tail". Getting in and out of State parks if you're out exploring or even a parking garage if you're out on the town can prove problematic for the Freightliner.
IMHO these are just a few quick tips to keep in mind when trying to decide what your next tow rig will be. There are endless options and configurations. Do your research and make a list of things that are must haves for you and then start to narrow down which truck checks the boxes for you.
I hope you find this information helpful. As always feel free to give me a call.
      Thank you for the question!

Order them with the beds so you can get the horsepower
