The real reason Anakin turned is because he started to tell him the *real* tragedy of Darth Plageuis the wise. Not the abbreviated version we see in the movie. Before 2 minutes were up Anakin was kneeling and crying in desperation "I'll do anything you ask.I JUST STOP THE MONOLOGUE!". Maybe that was the real torture, whenever Vader disobeyed or failed. He just said "Now were were we? Oh yes- the Tragedy.....

It happened a few times over the reign of the Empire and needed to be repeatedly corrected. Vader had been crippled because the Chosen One prophecy needed him to be. He was never meant to be the strongest Sith because he wasn't the most heartless Sith, and that lingering sense of goodness in him was a problem to Palpatine.
It did show in ROTJ, where Vader didn't seem to be as ruthless or as cold hearted as he used to be. Pleading with his son to not resist, telling it is too late for him to join Luke, despite the fact that he desperately wants to.
This makes sense, Vader turned to the Dark Side because he knew his family and everyone who he loved was gone. When he found out Luke was still alive he realized there is hope, he could join his son or have his son join him and they could be together, all Vader wanted was a family, someone to love and someone he could be himself around. All the people he knew he would rather kill than anything. And having a family would ease his pain and help home recover from everything that happens to him.

To me, Vader had his own agenda after learning that Luke was his son, and that was to rule over the Empire on his own with his son. Of course, he kept that plan a secret. Me and a friend discussed this, they said Vader should have torn Palpatine apart, Vader is like the Hulk. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. And I agree on that, but I love what the writers did here. Vader didn't shit on everyone because he wasn't bloodlusted. It's like when you break up with your lover, anger, sorrow, confusion and many more emotions. Palpatine even confirms that this whole quest for Padme made him desperate and less angry compared to when he woke up for the first time in his suit and nailed Palpatine to a wall, if he had his saber he would have gone after him. Palpatine knows very well that a berserk Vader would be a problem to him, Sheev fans don't get me wrong, it's canonically stated that Sidious is stronger I don't deny that. But if you look carefully Sidious turns to manipulation tactics to calm Vader down if he gets too heated, only enjoying the sight of it when Vader's fangs are turned towards someone else.
I'd say your right but also when it comes to the force Vader is around 80 percent of Palpatine's Strength at his best. So with him at his best he stood no chance
I agree with you for the most part as Sidious is a master of manipulation and that is typically what keeps Vader in check but if Vader was completely and utterly unleashed (like say he learns palpatine did something to ensure padme’s death personally) he could potentially through sheer force of will beat the odds. I liken him to guts from berserk in that regard, a broken man who can become a literal beast of rage should the need arise. But with Vader it’s not until the end he finally breaks the leash that he’s put on.

Imagine a movie or series about Anakin’s spiritual Journey to becoming a force ghost. Through the help ofLuke, Qui Gon and Obi Wan, Anakin not only makes amends for the people Vader had killed in his skin but learning to forgive himself and become more powerful than anyone could possibly imagine.
From the moment he became a villain, the only thing that was waiting for him was torturing and brutal violence... I'm sure he didn't know his future in the dark side when he signed his contract...

Vegeta was forced to work for Frieza since Frieza was going to kill his father and wipe out his race (which he ended up doing anyway) Anakin chose to work for Palpatine I feel more sorry for Vegeta than Vader

The man murdered children for crying out loud. Frieza forced King Vegeta to give him his son, and King Vegeta had no choice but to do it in order to preserve his race and planet. Anakin fully pledged himself to Palpatine's teachings and became his most loyal enforcer in the Empire while Vegeta despised Frieza with a fiery passion for using him as a tool, and even more so for lying about what happened to his people and using that lie to keep him in line.

It was already like that in Lucas star wars through... Vader was a slave to the dark but he broke free. He could not undo the horror he has done but he could end it, freeing himself in the process. Nothing Else was needed.
I know that Palpatine is considered a Pure Evil villain, but I think he’s more complex than that. I’ve always thought that in his own (very twisted) way he cared about his apprentices. And that he felt it was for their own good that they embrace the dark side and that the harsh punishments were necessary to help them.
Palpatine never considered himself evil. Evil is a point of view. In his sick and twisted mind, he’s bringing back his strength and power in the dark side which is why he brought him back to mustafar. Again it’s very twisted, but that’s his logic.

Ive always known that Vader had a life of torment and despair but I never really imagined what that life was. This comic has given a fresh perspective towards what that life was for Vader and hammered down on it. What an incredible story.
This really shows how evil Palpetine was and I like it. Makes me fear him even more. I also really feel bad for Anakin and Vader. What a terrible position he got put into just to save the one he loved
Damn this one was especially dark! Sometimes you forget just how cruel Palpatine and Vader are until you go back and read the comics and other E.U stuff.
The only reason Vader didn’t overpower Palpatine is because he was not fully emerersed in the dark side like he was when he hunted down all of those Jedi post order 66. Palpatine actually Doing the strongest Sith Lord a favor here by remembering how powerful he really is when he is fully enclosed into the dark side.
This is a great comic, but a very sad one in my opinion. Especially when we see the flashback of him choking Padme and the other officers but mostly Padme. And when Obi Wan walks away.
If only vader took inspiration from reven and found balance in both the light and force side. He could have probably healed his lungs and body in time. With cloning and the force.

Read Vader 2017 comics. He does just that. Basically the only times Palpatine can punish Vader are when he's gotten Vader too psyched out to fight back. Even a Lucasfilm executive said that in these comics, Vader wasn't fighting back.

So many people didn't understand anything about this comic. Sidious was destroying ANAKIN here, not Vader. He tells Vader he needs to “find himself AGAIN” and “RELEARN the primacy of power” again confirming that this Vader is not nearly as powerful as he usually is. Sidious explains in this comic that Padme’s loss was what gave him his power in the dark side. Now that Padme’s memories are resurfacing and his son is alive the source of Vader’s strength has literally been UNDONE. Sidious is doing this to bring Vader “back to power” which confirms that Vader here has lost the power that he used to have. Therefore Sidious did not really “own” Vader. He owned a broken down, shell of Anakin Skywalker who we are told for a fact has lost his connection to the dark side.
Darth Sidious is so badass in both Canon and Legends. Sidious and Vader’s relationship is far different from the other rule of 2 master and apprentice relationships
Palpatine only destroyed the cybernetics he gave Vader. That's why Vader still had the one hand left over. I agree, Palpatine is forcing Vader to embrace the dark side fully once more.

I'd say your right but also when it comes to the force Vader is around 80 percent of Palpatine's Strength at his best. So with him at his best he stood no chance

I agree with you for the most part as Sidious is a master of manipulation and that is typically what keeps Vader in check but if Vader was completely and utterly unleashed (like say he learns palpatine did something to ensure padme’s death personally) he could potentially through sheer force of will beat the odds. I liken him to guts from berserk in that regard, a broken man who can become a literal beast of rage should the need arise. But with Vader it’s not until the end he finally breaks the leash that he’s put on.

I don't know how to feel about Vader being humiliated in such a way. I always imagiend Vader to be this image of terror. Seeing him just... broken is... odd.

Really reminds me of when Frieza tortured Vegeta. You knew both Vader and Vegeta had it coming with all the crimes they committed but you still can't help but feel sorry for them when they themselves get tortured and go through unimaginable pain like this.
Vegeta was forced to work for Frieza since Frieza was going to kill his father and wipe out his race (which he ended up doing anyway)

The reason they abandoned him is because he chose to betray them. The man murdered children for crying out loud.
Frieza forced King Vegeta to give him his son, and King Vegeta had no choice but to do it in order to preserve his race and planet.
Anakin fully pledged himself to Palpatine's teachings and became his most loyal enforcer in the Empire while Vegeta despised Frieza with a fiery passion for using him as a tool, and even more so for lying about what happened to his people and using that lie to keep him in line.

This is sad. Vaders "victory" in ROTJ is a big joke now. Knowing this happened after ESB Vader doesn't even get his revenge since Palps lives in ROS.

It was already like that in Lucas star wars through... Vader was a slave to the dark but he broke free. He could not undo the horror he has done but he could end it, freeing himself in the process. Nothing Else was needed.
Still, Palpatine is messed up from what Vader did. All he could really do was create Snoke as his puppet.

I know that Palpatine is considered a Pure Evil villain, but I think he’s more complex than that. I’ve always thought that in his own (very twisted) way he cared about his apprentices. And that he felt it was for their own good that they embrace the dark side and that the harsh punishments were necessary to help them.
Palpatine never considered himself evil. Evil is a point of view. In his sick and twisted mind, he’s bringing back his strength and power in the dark side which is why he brought him back to mustafar. Again it’s very twisted, but that’s his logic.

Ive always known that Vader had a life of torment and despair but I never really imagined what that life was. This comic has given a fresh perspective towards what that life was for Vader and hammered down on it. What an incredible story.
This really shows how evil Palpetine was and I like it. Makes me fear him even more. I also really feel bad for Anakin and Vader. What a terrible position he got put into just to save the one he loved
That’s why I don’t feel sorry for Vader cause he chose to serve Paps then his own wife.

The only reason Vader didn’t overpower Palpatine is because he was not fully emerersed in the dark side like he was when he hunted down all of those Jedi post order 66. Palpatine actually Doing the strongest Sith Lord a favor here by remembering how powerful he really is when he is fully enclosed into the dark side.

This is a great comic, but a very sad one in my opinion. Especially when we see the flashback of him choking Padme and the other officers but mostly Padme. And when Obi Wan walks away.
If only vader took inspiration from reven and found balance in both the light and force side. He could have probably healed his lungs and body in time. With cloning and the force.

Read Vader 2017 comics. He does just that. Basically the only times Palpatine can punish Vader are when he's gotten Vader too psyched out to fight back. Even a Lucasfilm executive said that in these comics, Vader wasn't fighting back.

So many people didn't understand anything about this comic. Sidious was destroying ANAKIN here, not Vader. He tells Vader he needs to “find himself AGAIN” and “RELEARN the primacy of power” again confirming that this Vader is not nearly as powerful as he usually is. Sidious explains in this comic that Padme’s loss was what gave him his power in the dark side. Now that Padme’s memories are resurfacing and his son is alive the source of Vader’s strength has literally been UNDONE. Sidious is doing this to bring Vader “back to power” which confirms that Vader here has lost the power that he used to have.
Therefore Sidious did not really “own” Vader. He owned a broken down, shell of Anakin Skywalker who we are told for a fact has lost his connection to the dark side.
Sidious is all powerful can’t help but respect it but at the end I’m still rooting for vader though

Darth Sidious is so badass in both Canon and Legends. Sidious and Vader’s relationship is far different from the other rule of 2 master and apprentice relationships
