Thank you for your help. Ice formed around the fans . Cleared the ice, dried everything up, motors are running fine and sounds normal again. I appreciate you making this helpful video.
Thank you so much for this. All I needed was to pull the back panel to clear the drain. I knew it had to be something simple, but didn't want to break anything with too much force on the wrong thing or in the wrong direction.
I emptied out freezer, used hair dryer on back panel, fan vents for about 10 to 15 minutes, dried everything. Checked after, it started working normal, no noise.
I do not see an answer to this question. Do we know for certain what the difference is? I ordered from an evaporator fan and motor directly from LG and it is the one on the left, not the one shown in the video that was replaced.
Having trouble with the fan motor froozen in my Bosch b21ct80snb/01 french door refrigerator. My question is how to remove the freezer fan cover after removing screws and ice maker? Won't budge.
Make sure all the screws on the cover are removed, then check for any tabs that need to be released so you can pull off the cover. If the coils are frozen up you will have to let them defrost before removing the cover so you don't damage any parts.
What a great video for how to replace the fan motor. But it will be even better if you folks could provide a fan model circuit diagram or steps to test it before replacing as this part is not just a simple On/Off DC motor; it has a circuit board and looks like a speed sensor built-in...
Hi, why the two fans have two different types of plugs? Are the two fans the same? And what about the Fan fan that lives in the refrigerator room - the one that gives the error code 'rF', is it the same as the one shown? (404B in LFX28978ST Service manual). Thanks!
I got to the point that I was putting fridge back together. I was trying to plug sensors back in but I had to plugs to plug up but only one place to plug it in. I had the fan plug and a plug with a heavy blue plug but only a place to plug in one. How did I mess up???
What if your fan is making a rattling sound some times then it stops and runs fine for awhile, then it starts making a humming sound when fan is running.
We had this happen and it was ice buildup around the fan. Removed the ice and voilà. The real problem was the drawer was too full and was nudging it open allowing air to get in and frost things up. That being said it could also just be a bad motor.
That is what happened with mine. It is the freezer fan on it's last legs. Pretty soon, it will not make any noise at all...because it is no longer working.
Much easier if you take off upper shelf rails and plastic inserts that hold them in. 6 screws on each side. Then you can move it around both on the assembly and The disassembly
why do the fan motors go bad so fast? We have 2 year old LG fridge with FF error code doesn't make sense. I don't understand why LG fridge is so prone to be un-reliable and yet they are very expensive investment.
It looks like this is an International model, so I'm not able to find specific information for this unit. However, generally, if your motor is not coming on when the compressor is on then you will need to test for power to the motor. If you have power there and it's not coming on then you will need to replace your motor. Locate the tech sheet for your unit to see where the testing points are and what voltage you should have.
From my research on the matter, this is a control/ mother board issue and not a fan issue. alot of people replacing fans only to get the same error code a few hours later, then call tech and they update mother board software to fix the issue ?? ned to invest in that fan company stock LOL.
Can anyone tell me if this fan cools the fridge i have a Kenmore model #75035 and it is not cooling the fridge the freezer works fine but temp in fridge is 65 or so
This video is very good for showing how to replace the fan motor, but it dose not show how to test it before replacing. I googled the same but have not yet found any help. This is my ice room fan motor EAU61524007, which is not just a DC motor, it has a circuit board with 3 wires out, Purple (online shows, motor speed feedbacked to motherboard), Black and Red for driving motor but not simple wires directly connected to the DC motor rather via a circuit to control motor speed I guess). If someone can find a circuit diagram for this type of Fan Motor, please share it.
Whoever designed this should be punched in the face, they couldn't make the assembly smaller to fit past the rails? cmon... I managed to remove mine without taking anything out but it was a pita, I have 2 fans , no idea what the other one is for, and a 120v blue wire for a heater or something.. where do I find out what these do? Mine was binding up when I took it out, then It spun freely, So i just stuck it back in. No clue, maybe that rubber grommet is breaking down and got in the shaft... we will see
My motors in my LG have 4 wire connectors. the additional lead is a yellow wire, and the connectors are different shapes, for good reason. Anyone know what the model number for the 4 wire motor is? My ref model is LFXS26973S /03
take the motor out like he did in the video and order it that way.. calling a parts supplier like i did just cost me more money and aggravation because they kept getting the part wrong.. when you take the fan out the part number will be right on it
You are right. Only got mines for 4 yrs and it crap out. Unfortunately Sears Also is gone. So I ordered a fan let's hope it works. As of now I use it as a deep freezer lol.
Easy to understand. I'm impressed someone with that technical ability who is newer to English can be as clear as he is. Great job on the videos and ignore the rude people who like to lob insults from behind their keyboard.

Based on this I just fixed a similar model by replacing the entire back panel. 🙌🏽 Thanks a ton!
Excellent video! I followed it and replaced my refrigerator fan motor. No problem!
Glad you were able to replace your motor!
This excellent and clear video helped us tremendously in fixing our fridge
Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
How can the fans be tested?
You have lots of patients
Who is sick?
I emptied out freezer, used hair dryer on back panel, fan vents for about 10 to 15 minutes, dried everything. Checked after, it started working normal, no noise.
But whats the other fan used for? I replaced the 1 u did but the fridge still doesnt get cold just the freezer, should i replace the 2nd fan?
Are you able to hear the fan running? Have you checked for air blockages?
@@appliancepartsprosWhat is the name of the second fan? The one on the edge, not in the middle??
I think the second fan is the ice maker fan

Is this just for freezer not working or whole unit not cooling? My LG fridge is warm everywhere. Compressor sounds like it runs.
Replace the relay unit beside the compressor !
Amazing video! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
You are welcome!
Is this the motor that's out when you get the ER FF code?
Yes

Thank you. I was struggling to get back to the fans to melt some ice.
The 2 fans motors is the same on this refrigerator? My problem is the Frezzer colds fine but on the top is not cold enough!☹️
replace your fans
Is the fan replaced by the tech on the video !
@@COPPER71I have the same issue, just replaced the fan and it’s still not cooling other then freezer
how do you know the fan motor is bad before removing it???
Good question.
I think when you get an ER IF code on the screen. Water and ice will not work. I've had this issue for a while and defrosting the fridge doesn't work
It should be blowing air
Why they don’t show how to test motor or test VOLTAGE on the pins of the plug on freezer side?
Thanks big help to us how to fixed 😊
thanks this video was great. I will be back to check it out again
I was hoping this was the issue with mine, but isn't. Do you have recommendations for the next level? control board?
What is going on with your refrigerator? What is the model number of your fridge?
Excellent Video! Thank You very much.
Video shows the left rail needs to be removed... Actually this step can be skipped. I removed back panel without removing left rail showed in video.
Isn’t necessary remove the rail

Nesesito the fan spare part, any link from where to get it?
I have an LG thats giving me a similar problem but I'm getting ice buildup behind that panel. I'm not sure if it's a leak or not.

I have ER and CF error code on Kenmore Elite model no. 795.72053.118. What part do I order? Thanks
Stuck right now because I can't get the rear panel off only the right side and the left side seems hooked in. Anyone know a solution?
I'm having the same issue. I think ice build up is making it harder for the panel to release. Did you eventually get yours free?
@@kimtaylorkruse3403 Yes use a hair dryer in there and then just pull harder. 👍
Someone came to fix my over freezing LG fridge and removed that silver panel under the motor is that okay ?

You are absolutely correct! I had to take the upper shelves off, too, in order the get the rear assembly to come down.
