I really love how they incorporated Dimitri’s Crest into the animated cutscene, but didn’t smack you in the face with it. His enhanced strength made him able to basically crush that armored guy’s skull with only one hand, but it looked like it didn’t cost any real effort. That’s... terrifying, to say the least. In the first several seconds, when Byleth tries to grab him but he shoves him away, that was being gentle. He could have easily yeeted Byleth through the wall right there if he hadn’t been making an effort to restrain himself. Scary.
I don't think he would have hurt Byleth. Even after the skip when he was at his worst, all he did was spout death threats but never hurt his comrades.
Not to mention Byleth also has THE legendary Crest, as well as the Goddesses blessing. It should be the other way around, Dimitri could only walk forward because Byleth put zero effort into stopping him XD

Blue Lions part 1 is so good some people think the devs made it first and sorta shoehorned the other routes into it after running out of time. I mean man that cutscene is something else.

I had never played any fire emblem but shady got me interested in this one and bruh.... I bought the game and chose the black eagles and bruh edelguard being the flame emperor blew me away even tho I had my suspicions it was so freaking good

Check the surroundings , the other Black Eagles students are still there and have opinions about what is happening.
Next time you accidentally skip a quote you wanted to read, just click zl at the next dialogue box to open up the chatlog, there you can even listen back to what they said!
Ps, tournaments will always use the training weapons or the lowest available magic, there is no way to change this, its just a handicap that they put on the player to make it slightly more difficult!
Also you can buy the item to boost the wo dao, but from the merchants at the fruits!
Dimitri is the best written character in the game. He's the reason Blue Lions is my favorite route. What a wonderful fall.

Dylan De Loe Yes. Personally never played FE but loved the play through in the past FE from Shady I would have picked Edelgard. The Dimitri route is sooooo typical FE lol, friends with the hero and save the day lol
golden deer is a better second route learning about many truths you don´t learn otherwise
Marcus Johansson GD is the more of a “typical” route because if you play past the time skip dimitri is not the hero, Claude is more of a hero because he wants peace throughout fodlan but won’t do it like Edelgard would. I did play GD first and I’m glad I did because I would’ve enjoyed it less if I played any of the other groups first
@@marcusjihansson Its not a typical route, unlike any other route whose main character are perfect well mannered goody two shoes, Dimitri is broken, he's no role model to village childrens and no great leader to his army, but he still does try his best despite the condition he's in

I still preferred doing Golden Deer first. I feel like the Blue Lions route hints at Edelgard a bit too heavily with the dagger and stuff. In Golden Deer it was just like BAM. I also just prefer Golden Deer in general...but damn Blue Lions is also so good. I'd also add that I feel like Golden Deer feels significantly weaker if you already know everything about the Blue Lions and Black Eagles routes. In Golden Deer it feels like you just get caught up in the middle of the war, you save the day, and then going and playing the other routes after gives you each main side's perspective in the war.

@Kira Ygran During my Golden Deer playthrough I spoke to everyone in the Monastery on every occasion I got and it isn't that obvious at all.
If it's your first playthrough you don't know anything about Monica other than that she's sketchy af. Her joining up with Black Eagles and talking to Edelgard could mean a number of things.
Hilda mentions that there's something off about Monica, but i don't know how you can just instantly jump to "oh she's evil and Edelgard is the Flame Emperor" based off of that alone.
Most things spoken about Hubert in the Monastery are just about his general creepiness if they have anything negative to say.
Sure you might consider that Edelgard being the Flame Emperor is in the realm of possibilities, but there's nothing that definitively suggests that she is and the hints within the game are too vague to draw any real conclusions.
Personally, I didn't think it was something the Game Developers would have done and i almost wrote it off. I'm glad they did it though. It definitely made things interesting.
@@Goomyx1492 sorry man gotta disagree here cus GD is great and honestly for mw have the best ending but for a first playthrough, I think BL is the best cus they barely show any lore unlike GD, so us the players will still have some questions and thus gotta play other routes
For me the a good order to play this game is:
Golden Deer, Blue Lions, Black Eagles(Crimson Flower) and at last Black Eagles (Silver Snow) (I'm still playing this so I dunno where to put it).
Because in GD is not that obvious that Edelgard is de Flame Emperor and gives the most lore about Byleth and Rhea.
Blue Lions is good as well for a first playthrough but the dagger was too strong of an evidence.
Black Eagles CF for seeing the story from Edelgard's perspective.
And I'm currently playing Silver Snow.
Hey Shady, entering characters into the tournament doesn’t actually improve them at all. So it’s kinda useless to not use the strongest possible unit in each tournament
Yeah, it's just a way to get money and items, not to actually train a unit up.
He also continuously fails to realize the he doesn't CHOOSE the weapon his unit uses. The tournament defaults one.

Honestly the Blue Lion route makes it easy to see Edelgard as the villain, and the Black Eagle route makes it easy to see her perspective. It's strange how the different experiences can so vastly shape your moral views on the same situation.
and golden deer makes it easy to see edelgard as a manipulated child, I do feel sad for her, but can´t help someone who doesn´t understand that he might be the problem in the first place
@@sakutaro3musik486 And ironically I played Crimson Flower first, assuming Edelgard would be proven right, but still came away with seeing Edelgard as too extreme/misguided to ally with her on future playthroughs (her seeing the Nabatea as "lacking humanity" really didn't sit well with me). Her backstory and overall character do make her a great sympathetic antagonist though.
Dimitri still has the best character arc and is the best overall character in the game imo
I think it's a combination of "being an ally makes it easier to understand someone" but mainly it's Byleth's guidance. By having Byleth there, Dimitri and Edelgard are able to hold onto their humanity.

As someone who disliked her since the moment they showed her in the trailers, my reaction was the same as Demitri's upon seeing that twist...

@@Shreepa98 I played both Eagles routes side-by-side up to a few campaigns after the time skip. Unfortunately, I had already done Lions and Deer just before, and burned myself out :( I did succeed in making Lindhardt my dancer just for the hell of it though. Pretty proud of that lmao

Finally! I've been waiting for this part since you chose Dimitri!
For my first run, I chose the Black Eagles and there was a battle right before this one that hinted at Edelgard being the Flame Emperor. So when it was revealed I wasn't so shook...What sucked is that she took Hubert and I was about to make him my dark mage!!! It only gets wilder from here! Everyone in the Black Eagles sides with the professor and agreed to do whatever it took to stop Edelgard
That’s if you side with the church. You can side with Edelgard and everyone follows you too (that’s what I did)

Hassan I played that route and it was my favorite route. You get to see Edelgards true vulnerable and sweet side of herself. The real her. I’d recommend playing that route

When you reach a+ professor level you should check out the rusted weapons because there are unique rusted weapons that you can forge into legendary weapons that are basically on par with heroes relics

Now that you have seteth on your team, you NEED to work on the support between flayn and seteth in order to reach their A support.
And what would happen if you were with her? You'll just have to play her route and see! ;)
Just have seteth as flayns adjutant and have flayn as your healer untill they reach a support, it should happen pretty fast
I actually use setheth as the extra unit and have flayn become a pegasus knight so she could become his adjutant, it kinda break flayn since she cant use magic but cus of the end result i'll say its worthit

damn id like to thank youtube for finally recommending this video to me. just got 3hs last month myself and have been loving the blue lions route and have been watching Every BL playthrough as I play that I can find. clearly i haven't found them all sadly. but I'm very thankful bc your reactions are really awesome. can't wait to binge your playthrough when i finish this. i subbed and turned on video notifs i am Very excited for a new BL playthrough to watch haha

Since you asked if you side with the Black Eagles there are 2 routes you can take. Before this battle if you speak to Edelgard you will get a special scene that after seen will unlock 1 route if you choose to defend her after the battle. If you don't talk to her and see the event or if you choose to side with the church then you unlock the church route. If you get the church route you lose Edelgard and Hubert.
Also, if you defend Edelgard, you lose Flayn.

Not that you have much room on your team right now but Seteth is amazing and I would strongly suggest using him if you have extra deployment slots. He is a flying tank with a lot of strength and speed. Plus at A rank lances he gets the best lance combat art in the game.
Also you can buy Black Sand Steel and Smithing Stones from one of the merchants near the other shops.
Does he get Swift Strikes? I know Ferdinand get it and it's quite the amazing skill.

Shady, you can forge the rusted weapons into better ones and some legendary weapons too if you got them from beast battles.
The problem is he may not have enough Mythril to forge the legendary weapons since it is one of the three rarest ores in the game.

@@hanzou1238 you can farm Mytril very easily via auxiliary battles plus the game gives you atleast enough for two legendary weapons out of the 3. Main problem isn't making the weapons, it's repairing them cause they cost the same to repair as they do to make.
@@drago_excalibur There are 4 legendary weapons. I have never really used them so I never collected mythril. I find the sword/bow of Zoltan and the Axe of Ukonvasara to be good enough that I never forged the legendary ones. I never found the beast battles to be worth it.
@@hanzou1238 But.. that can be soft reset to get the good weapons from the beast. Took about 1 to 3 times to get it. Parthia, Mercurius, Gladivirius..

You can buy Black Sand Steel and Smithing Stone from the merchant next to the fruits. Also Dimitri's support is with someone other than Dedue. There's another one available. Also PLEASE check the rusted weapons description. They can either forge into iron weapons or into Silver and Legendary weapons

Most people do Blue Lions first but I just knew I needed to do it last to help Dimitri get his shit together.
Ay, Seteth finally joined. Seteth is honestly a beast of a unit, he carries the defence of Dedue and the offense of Felix AND he comes flying. He might struggle to kill at first but anything that isn't an archer is going to have a rough time killing him.
He is amazing. The only flaw he has is that his ranks suck for trying to get him to Wyvern Lord.

18:00 Well I'll be. I thought that not supporting with Rhea meant this scene wouldn't play like that. I guess there must be some other criteria... perhaps the support points are all that are needed, even if you don't view the supports.

I've only seen it in the extras menu, and am unsure how specifically it is triggered. And I could swear I've seen a "Let's play" of Azure Moon where the scene didn't play at all, I assumed because they had not gotten many support points with Rhea, Flayn and Seteth.

@@nateperkins9860 Nope, that happens earlier. I'm talking about the scene in this episode, where Rhea and Seteth talk about what Byleth is (or rather what Rhea thinks they are). There are at least two versions of the scene, the one we see here, and another that can play (where Seteth will refuse Rhea's request, and Flayn will not show up to offer support), presumably if necessary support points are lacking.
@@Midna78 then perhaps it's supports with Seteth that matter? All I know is that I've seen two versions of the scene on the extras menu, all well as a let's play of Azure Moon where the scene didn't play at all.
You don't pick what weapon you take into a tournament. THEY ASSIGN the weapon you use. It says so on the screen!

Yes full chapter episodes!!! Also shady maybe you should spend some time checking to weapon shop to make sure everyone has a good weapon equiped since all your units are pretty evenly leveled I think they could all pop off with strong items.

You can get black-sand steel from one of those merchants off to the side. The Wo Dao+ is like, the best sword.
You have to update your game to change outfits (if you purchased the dlc)

This part was so hard for me to play through since I sided with Edelgard on my first playthrough. Regardless, the cutscene with Dmitri is insanely good

I assume you've played the other routes by now shady, but edelgard is still the flame emperor in her route and you have to do two certain choices to either join her or play Silver Snow. You join her side if you do the two choices earlier, if you don't you stay with the church. Byleth just doesn't know that edelgard is the flame emperor until chapter 10/11 (I think). You fight in chapter 11 without her though
He's done at least three. I don't know if he's done Silver snow yet but he did the other 3.

If you choose red eagles she turns against you in this chapter (you play with all your units except Edelgard). If you talk to her throughout the month, she asks you to accompany her to be titled emperor. If you do so, after you complete this chapter you can choose to either side with her on her revolution, or side with the church and fight against her.

If you're with her it depends on some choice in game. You either lose her and Hubert and carry on later OR you can join her side (you need to do a few things with her for this to happen though)
I don't know of it has been relayed to you yet, but Black-Sand Steel is purchasable from the Eastern Merchant standing directly behind the Item Shop Lady... So you can continue your upgrading without fear...
