    To my previous car, I put that fusible from camera cable, at wipers. When I close the car, camera its shut down, not working continuously. You sure the fusible 38 it’s doing the same work?

    Thanks BF, I now know how to remove the A pillar covers to dye them black again due to sun fade. Great in depth video as always. Cheers

      @dickie184 Hi, where did you connect the switch wire?

  • @vasil7410
    @vasil7410 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. I installed this camera in a BMW F10 but with the ADZOME branded hardwire kit and are using the parking feature. What I found is the car detects the battery gets drained whilst parked and shuts down some of its systems, even though I have the hardwire adaptor set to shut off at 12.4V. Do you have any experience with this? I would imagine the adaptor used in your installation, with a cut out at 11.6V, would be even worse.

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Vasil Hi again 😄 thanks for another comment. Yeah I would have gotten that battery drain as I mentioned in the last comment hence the 12v socket being tapped into. Thinking about it, doing it the way I did I wouldn't be able to use the parking mode because when I turn the ignition off all power is stopped to the camera to prevent the battery drain 🤔

    Is there any switched on live / acc live in that fusebox behind the glovebox?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Satz50 all the fuses I tested all seemed to have a constant live and would drain the battery. I couldn't seem to find a acc live which would have been perfect unfortunately.

    In the first way you show, where exactly are you running the ground wire? is it just pinched between the frame and a piece of plastic? If so, how can I trust that to not come loose?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Connor McKee Hi Connor sorry I didn't show it in more detail. So the ground wire is secured by the screw in the top left hand corner quite securely as the connections is a tight fit around the screw and when the screw is tightened back up its a very strong connection. When I loosened it back off to remove the connection it was a real pain to get back out. That said if you wanted complete peace of mind you could always use a ring connection with a shake proof washer. It would never bufge then. 👍🏻

    • @connormckee5948
      @connormckee5948 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, with the first way, you are connecting it to an accessory fuse correct? Therefore the dashcam will power on and off with the ignition? or only get power supplied when the ignition is on?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Connor Mckee In an ideal world it would have been but on the e60 all the fuses behind the globe box are a constant feed from the battery. So the camera would still get power even of the ignition is off.

      @@TheBimmerFixer ok and would the second way be that way? So that it turns off with the car or is it the same situation

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Connor Mckee Yeah thats right, turns off with the key and how I have it set up now and all working fine.

    How does the m300s activate parking mode?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @User-is2kf First you need to make sure the park mode in enabled in the settings and that the camrea has a constant 12v. If thats all done then the camera will go into park mode a few minutes after the ignition is switched off. Hope that helps.

    • @User-is2kf
      @User-is2kf ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBimmerFixer should the park mode setting appear when everything is on the fusebox?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @User-is2kf Yeah as long as its a constant 12v meaning you still have 12v after the keys are removed from the ignition.

  • @vasil7410
    @vasil7410 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe you could have found the accessories fuse behind the glove box and used the same method as the constant power line.

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Vasil Hi, I did actually check behind the glove box but believe it or not all fuses were getting a constant 12v even the accessories. I was quite surprised actually. Any of the fuses I could use would give me a battery drain. I did actually test it over night and it drained the battery to the point the camera cut off. Shame really it would have been a lot easier to install if I could have used the fuse box.

      @@TheBimmerFixer What I find is that the accessories power in the BMW remains active for some time after turning off the car. But it shuts off eventually. Very different to other cars, such as my Mercedes, which shuts off the accessories power as soon as the car is turned off.

    I have a bmw 218d and i dont see the airbag logo in the a pillar. Does that mean there is no airbag ?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Snipes JuanR I believe the 2 series has a side curtain airbag that deploys from above the door and comes slightly down the top of the A pillar. As the airbag is stored above the door in the headlining this is probably why there is no logo on the A pillar. Hope that helps.

      @@TheBimmerFixer thank you, but how should i hide the wire? Should i let the wire go behide the airbag or do the same as you did in the video?

    • @TheBimmerFixer
      @TheBimmerFixer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Snipes JuanR Good point 🤔 is there enough room to tuck the wire between the A pillar a windscreen? I'm thinking it would save removing it altogether and if the airbag was to deploy it would just push/drop the wire out the way. I'm wondering if you could maybe use a trim removal tool or something similar to do that 🤔
