@@JD-te9tj Much better! Got a ton of rest through the day. Tested negative for the you know what virus, just seemed to be an awful cold. Thanks for asking brother!
Read The Bus Book!!! He said they hurt Kordells career on purpose. He was Vick and Jackson before his time. Plus it was unpopular to be a black Q.B. Every time he got good they changed the OC. One more year with the same OC would most likely been a Superbowl.
This is back when the Standard Was The Standard. Not being .500 or better. Maybe win a few playoffs games when you are favored at home. Cowher always talked about a fine line and why he couldn’t win the big game.
Man Levon Kirkland was something else. Its amazing how fast he was for his size. The way he covered ground on that interception is something you don't see many linebackers do.
Man I miss this team, so much talent. Too bad we didn't go all the way, but it was still a great year! I miss Paul McGuire, he is my favorite TV announcer of all time! Go Steelers!!
Chad Brown. No one talks about him much do they. Shame as he is/was noteworthy. Have to chuckle when you hear everyone soiling themselves over Lamar as if he invented the running QB and like Chad Brown Kordell rarely gets props for his skillset b4 Lamar was even born... Thx for another solid video.
Chad Brown might be the only guy I've ever seen who had the athleticism and skill to play every LB position in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense at a Pro Bowl level.
Though it's always nice to see John lose as a Steeler fan, he takes a loss with good grace, unlike his brother. I'd hate to be an outlying family member at their house for Christmas or Thanksgiving
@@anonymousanonymity2815 but twice in the same game? Two INT’s to the same DB? On the biggest stage? He was the QB throwing the ball. QB’s get the big bucks to be the offensive leader. Clearly was and will always be #14’s fault.
There's just something about games in Pittsburgh. Doesn't matter if it the stadium is the blast furnace or the big ketchup bottle.....when the Steelers are competitive and get momentum the game can just rapidly get away from visiting squads once that crowd gets fired up.
The one game I remember that not happening against was vs the Chargers in 2018 when the refs were being stupid and helped the Steelers blow a 20 pt lead
@@fredleeland2464 I’m not making excuses but I think that’s one of the reasons why we were so bad at home primetime games last year specifically the Washington Baltimore and Cleveland game normally there would be 65,000 fans screaming but it was a little different this year I don’t think we lose that playoff game like that if there are fans there
@@duskthunder9274 the Baltimore one definitely The Cleveland game was BS playcalling that generated zero momentum for the offense and probably fatigue on D That Washington game though...that was such a Andy Reid type game, they only had to run the clock out and hold onto the ball the second half since they were up by 20...but they kept passing short routes
Yinz,. I'd give you 15k views myself if I could. I appreciate these so much. These are getting my 7 yr old into football. Thank you for that my friend!
Thats the thing about Kordell. Some games he was a big hit, and others he was a huge miss. Had he stayed consistent, the Steelers wouldve had like 9 rings by now
I remember this D. Man, it would have been nice to see them win a Superbowl or two. Freakin Cowgirls. Okay, I'm back..omg Rob Woodson. The Bus was badass. Wth was Kirkland doing down the field?! Love it! Lol. Watching this like it's today 2022. Brown was a beast. Damn shame this squad didn't get a ring. Coward should have gotten at least 3 rings. What a great Coach. 👍
The Bus battled injuries near the end of 1996 and through the playoffs. Never recovered enough in time which left the Steelers shorthanded against the Patriots. Tomczak did the best he could to get the Steelers back to the playoffs in '96 but was simply overmatched.
I still get goosebumps watching these games in the 90's. Give them just a good quarterback not even a franchise qb and they win at least 2 Superbowls during this iconic era!!
I remember the follow week the Steelers lost at New England. The Patriots scored on the first play of the game with a long bomb to Terry Glenn (RIP) and never looked back. Don't mean to be a debbie downer lol Just reminiscing a bit, but this game vs the colts was nice.
This is why bill cowher is in the hall of fame . Lost SB qb , running back and all star Greg Lloyd and Kevin greene . Made the greatest trade in Steelers history getting Jerome Bettis in 96’. With all the Changes, still won the division and a playoff game !
Biggest mistake Pittsburgh ever did was get rid of Woodson when they let him go he was just getting warmed up man was he good and dick enberg was the best oh my!
This was a fun team to watch with lots of defensive stars and the Bus on offense. Too bad that the patriot completely owned the Steelers during those years.
Spillane and Williams don't have the burst or agility that Kirkland had. Some of it is skill, but some of it is pure athleticism that can't be taught, can't be learned. It also helps that the athleticism of most TEs then wasn't the same as it is today. Ken Dilger was a big guy with so-so athleticism who got the starting job by blocking well. I wonder if people were saying the same thing about Cowher then, what they are saying about Tomlin now.
I wish Slash and The Bus 🚌 were able to win a super bowl together. They came close a few times. It was this group that made me a fan of the steelers.

He was the best player on the field in Super Bowl 30

Dick Enberg and Paul McGuire as commentators were simply the best!
