I think that the switch in POV between PJO and HOO would be a bit jarring for some people, leading to more negative reviews. Also, fun fact: Hades technically doesn't mean hell. Hades as a word was used both to describe the god and the underworld itself. When Christianity came along, they combined their concept of hell with the Greek/Roman underworld.

The things I hate about these books is the romance. Now Rick Riordan pulled off the romance aspect in PJO mainly because he didn't make it a major pary of the story. Percy was his own person and while his feelings for Annabeth is mentioned they don't take up the major part and the characters have thier priorities straight , i. e saving the world. On the other hand, HOO was oversaturated with romance and while many characters had so many conflicts, the only thing we saw in Piper's POVs are Jason, Jason and Jason, with a small part about other people and her dad. You don't see the same thing in POVs of other characters ( even if they think about romance it's minimal) Not to mention her character wasn't that great to say the best and she was so much wasted potential. Also why the heck did Percy and Annabeth become so obsessed with each other? They loved each other but were also very clear what to focus on in PJO, didJed Piper rub off on them? Smh I could go on and on but in short I think the overdoing of romance was what made this series not great for me. We are reading a fantasy adventure novel, not a teen romantic novel. Jeez. i havent finished blood of olympus i was reading it but than i just kinda flopped and let it go for a while during the time i wasn't reading it which was 4 weeks i had already gotten through all 4 books of harry potter, HoO is good but...goodness it like rick needs new material...its always this whole Theirs a kid who needs to survive and has self identity issues, while also having these unique abilities. its all we've gotten from rick (dont get me wrong the way he does and writes it makes it work) it's kinda becomes repetitive and annoying. if i ever read blood of olympus i'm going to have to force myself to read it along with the other series the trials of apollo and magnus chase. thats all i gotta say about that. and this is sad to say cause i loved MoA and HoH and absolutley loved the percy jackson series
