  • In this tutorial, we'll make a cane with waves running through. I love this cane, I've made tons of them but I by making this tutorial, I came to understand something new about this cane (to my surprise).
    Come along on our continuing journey in black and white polymer clay (Kato Polyclay for me) to our ultimate goal - making statement pieces of the many canes and techniques you'll have learned.
    Cheers, D

    Oh btw, is it just the lighting, or is your wedding ring purple gold? I was a fine jewelry designer but had to retire about 8 years ago. Some time before I did, my casting company said they would be coming out with purple gold soon. So it was a while back, but I haven't been in a jewelry store since I retired, and I haven't seen anything done in purple gold yet! If yours is, its the first piece I've seen! • @DonnaKatoArt

      The image with the 5 pieces is actually strung on memory wire that I slid hollow buna cord over! The memory wire is thin and I believe the cord was 2mm in diameter but I would have to check to make sure of that. It’s a good system as the pieces don’t sag on the cord. Hugs, D

    Hi Donna, working on your beautiful wavy can. Mine not so beautiful but it will get better! My question is about ckeaning the machine between volours as i am getting white on black and vjce versa. I have used a thin tooth pickmonnbothnplaces i csn see there is clay. Wiped the rollers and everything ekse with baby wipes but still get colour transfer. What am i missing. Is there a hidden clay goblin in the depths of the machine? Aargh! Thanks, jill

    what work service do you recommend is the best

    • @DonnaKatoArt
      @DonnaKatoArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Deborah, I work on marble now but it’s cold and maybe I should switch to formica! The disadvantage of marble would be (in a cold basement) the coldness, my clay is cold (this could be advantageous in a hot clime). The cold does minimize clay sticking to the surface, though. Formica is very neutral and if you get the lightly pebbled kind, the clay doesn’t stick to it. I guess you might start by considering the ambient temp in your studio and act accordingly. I hope this has helped!❤️

    • @DonnaKatoArt
      @DonnaKatoArt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Denise! Are they criss crossing lines? If so, can be a cane but most likely, I made a sheet by incising lines in raw clay and laying extremely thin snakes in. Roll to smooth! I hope that I answered your question, kid. Hugs, D

    Why is clay set toward the middle of the veneer, such as a backing piece then the piece is cut around all four sides. If the piece is toward a top corner you would have a nice piece instead of four scraps to be combined, rolled, conditioned, to get your creative process continuing again for the cutters
