I LOVED hearing about your experience and philosophy with doing hair and makeup! I have similar feelings about it. I started because of a need to be pretty when I had terrible self-esteem, but now I just love it! Luisa H yeah I’m growing out my hair as well, mostly because I couldn’t grow it for so many years so it’s like this small feeling of accomplishment to grow it long lol. My five year plan for my hair is to grow it out at least to hip or tailbone length and then chop it to a pixie.
@@bibliophilecb try joining the long hair community before doing something you would regret afterwards. ;) We have a thread for every milestone (hair length) and even the 2 weeks rule to take your time to decide what to do with your hair

When I say I’m going to chop my hair, I mean in a couple years’ time so that’s way beyond the two weeks rule lol! I’m only at waist now so I have a while before my goal. For now it’s hip but who knows, I just know that eventually I want to try pixie once I’ve had time to enjoy the length lol

I'm a pulmonary scientist and people lose their minds that I can do my hair/makeup AND be good at my job?? 🙄🤦🤦 It's totally a form of self expression and there's a sense of accomplishment when I've been challenged by a particular braid and then I succeed!! As someone who had hair similar to your length (and thicker) I say cut your hair. It's so worth it. In the wise, wise words of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, hair grows. The hairdresser nearly had heart failure when I got mine chopped. She was way more worried than me and kept double checking every step of the way, which is understandable, but kind of funny to me cause I thought about it for ages before getting it done.

I am a recovering opioid addict 20 months clean and I have been watching videos from several ppl trying to learn to be more girlie like I semi used to be I lost that not bathing always bathed but my hair is super thick and middle butt crack long and I'm 5'3 so long hair that just put in a pony or a bobbed pony have bangs too shortish bangs so I am learning a lot from u about products hot tools etc, keep the videos coming.
CUT IT! It's just hair! You are well versed in hair extensions and wigs, there are so many options for doing a longer style. Styling short hair on yourself will keep you pushing to be and do your best when it comes to hair and open up a whole new world of styles.

I cut my hair recently and it's extremely short. It is sooooooo hard to do a really simple hairstyle: a half up half down ponytail. Anyway, do it if you want to but don't do it as short as I did!!!!

If you cut your hair, you will know..for sure. You will still do wigs and use your creativity, while rocking your shorter do. You won't know unless you do it. I did when I was 12 and it was a mistake. SO...I grew it back...and longer...and longer..and have been wearing my hair at butt length for many years and it is right for me. When I am tempted to cut, I remember how I felt, then I watch a wonderful YT vid on styling (like on your channel!!! :)...and am satisfied. I say go for it, girl and make loads of vids on cute short hair styles. :) I would really love to see a comprehensive vid on all the best hair accessories you use (like where you find Dany's hair cuffs), and flowers, and such. :)

Ok, the weirdly possessive over your hair cracked me up. My teenage son has had long hair since he was really young. He grew it out to donate it. He never let teasing or people calling him girl bother him. Well turns out he really likes long hair. It is blond, straight and healthy. It is about mid-back now. Of course, girls want to braid it or touch it. He absolutely hates it. It doesn't let anyone touch his hair. Occasionally he has me put it up in a ponytail or will let me braid it (which he takes right out).

My husband has long wavy thin hair to his collarbone and he still looks like himself, like My husband, like if he'd be a totally different person for me and for himself if he'd cut his hair. Plus, since my hair grew to mid-back it was the ever first experience of hair being part of me, of my body. Every inch it grows it feels so natural to me, no more a thing that was glued on my scalp waiting for me or someone else to style it. You say your son takes down the braid or ponytail you do. Totally understandable because unknowingly you are pulling off his hair too much. It hurts.
Kudos to your son. I am growing my hair out also for my second time to donate and I had the flat, “middle school Kayley” hair until I found her TH-cam channel. It takes a while to grow it so this channel really helps give ideas how to keep from getting bored with one style. I guess for boys the basic ponytail is fine? They never seem to feel the need to change it up. It’s sweet he allows you to braid his hair even if he does take it out immediately after. =)
I am so much like you with the singing 😂😂 I love to sing, but I am TERRIBLE at it. I never sing around anyone because it’s so awful! It’s rough living with roommates because I haven’t had a chance to sing in forever 😅
