Beast is now Highlight: they didn’t renew when their contract with Cube agency ended in 2016 and they formed their own agency but since Cube had trademarked Beast, they changed their name to Highlight (the title of their last album as Beast; also quite a bop) in 2017 and scored number1 with their “debut” song, Plz Don’t Be Sad. Theirs is the most successful rebranding in Kpop history.

Oh, the sweet nostalgia! I miss their sound, and I think Korea misses too. Looking back at the top 10 in South Korea, Beast was always there with so many and good hits! Beast (and Big Bang) always killed with the hip hop and R&B styles. I mean, listen to this vocals, raps, the production, everything sounds AMAZING!

They just came out with a new EP, check out *"Alone" by Highlight* and...AND Junhyung also came back after *4 years of absence* in the kpop industry, still freaking out 🤧, check out his song too *"층간 소음" by Yong Junhyung* I think the translated name is *"Loner"* or Koong? I can't help to think it was intentional that both Highlight and him released a song with a similar title/theme. (Junhyung used to be the rapper and composed/produced the majority of Beast/Highlight songs)
They have a some dark MVs with unexpected storylines for kpop, I like that they would think outside the box but they are difficult to recommend (the other ones are Shadow, 12 : 30 and Ribbon imo). Good Luck was super well received despite being that emo (btw the B side We Up is good too), so well actually that Mnet started rumors that they were lipsyncing on stage to stop them from sweeping first place everywhere. As a result for their next comeback they boycotted M Countdown so there's no 12 : 30 stage there.
the song changes kpop to me. Before this, i only see idols and kpop songs as rebellious or some trendy thingy for childish people yet this hit diffferent. till this day, it still can bring tears to my eyes. the song, the voice,the dance moves, the story, the acting... perfect in every aspects

Loved Beast....they were one of the more talented groups ever. One of their members Hyunseung was originally one of Bigbangs members before debut.
