YOU WILL BE SURPRISED TO LEARN THESE FACTS About the Four Paths Railway Station in Clarendon Jamaica
Four Paths Railway Station in Clarendon is a reminder of Jamaica's once-thriving railway system. Opened in the late 19th century, this station was part of the Kingston to Montego Bay line, which played a crucial role in transporting goods like sugar, bananas, and bauxite, as well as passengers across the island. The railway system in Jamaica began in 1845 with the first line from Kingston to Angels in St. Catherine, making it the first railway in the Western Hemisphere outside of Europe and North America. Over the decades, it expanded to connect major towns and facilitated economic growth, but by the late 20th century, the decline in demand and lack of maintenance led to the closure of most routes. Today, stations like Four Paths stand as historical landmarks, echoing the bygone era of Jamaica's rich railway heritage.

I would like to see the closed captions be accurate. You typed open captions on screen, which is alright. But if you type in the same text via TH-cam Studio it would be accurate as well, instead of the auto captions.
@ thanks for the suggestion

Hello Miss Lexi, I truly enjoyed your video. It was informative and brought out great feelings of nostalgia. Our mother introduced us to train travel on our visits back to JA in the 60's and 70's - May Pen to Mobay was our regular day trip. Thank you for jarring our memories and keeping our history alive. Bring back our rail service - cheap and clean.
Thank you for your positive comment it truly means a lot. Do you remember how long the journey was? Also I’m curious to know, did they ram pack the trains like they do the buses now?

I took the "Diesel" from Williams Field, just below Mandeville, to MontegoBay and back all in one day. The Diesel was a one car train. I was 7 at the time, 1974 I believe.
I believe this is the second comment I’m seeing about the Williamsfield Station. I probably need to check it out
Greeting to you from everbless family TV TH-cam channel

Imagine Jamaica allowed the Trains to stand still . Such a good mode of Transportation
I agree! They are trying to revive it now so let’s hope for the best
I use to pass by their from Old Harbour to Mo Bay. They use to have a line from May Pen to Vernam Field during World War 2. I did research on Vernam Field during the war and I have pictures.🛩
I bet you uncovered some interesting facts!
I remember as a little boy traveling to st Elizabeth on the train from Kingston to place like Union district and maggoty
What did you love the most about traveling on the train?
Jamaica needs to bring back the trains as a part of their ways of transportation
They have started! Old Harbour to Linstead is up and running for almost 2 years now
My children dont know what it feels like to ride the train in Jamaica but i do😂
@@doreenpowel1971 I don’t know what it feels like either 😭
