Don't share false information. PhD is optional for Direct Recruitment of Assistant Professor which means PhD is highest qualification and NET/SET/SLET is minimum qualification. PhD mandatory is just reversed as optional.

Already UGC facing heat on supreme court regarding mandatory Ph.d because research degree need for appointment is questioned in kerala high court. So this may be the reason behind the decion

Ugc has taken the worst decision. And also great tamilnadu government never conducted set exam for past 5years all other states even during COVID time Karnataka set, Andhra Pradesh set , Kerala government had conducted set exam. Tamilnadu government is worst in everything. I even raised question in CM cell regarding set exam two years back I have not got any reply.

இப்படித்தான் M.Phil டிகிரியை cancel செய்தீர்கள்.M.Phil degree செல்லாது . அதற்காக வேலைக்கு போகாமல் 1வருடம் படித்து 70,000 to 80,000 ரூபாய் செலவு செய்தது தான் மிச்சம். அந்த நேரத்தையும் உழைப்பையும் பணத்தையும் யார் திருப்பி தருவது சொல்லுங்கள்.

Preference will be given to those who have NET or SET . Ph.D is optional here means when there is no candidate is available with NET or SET , The authority can recruit people who have Ph.D. So don't worry. Things will happen good.
