Looks good! I've always wondered why more publishers haven't gone the filament route. It's such a great idea to have a portable bible and access digitally to study material.
I just received the thin line version of this Bible. I love the digital part. May not carry it as I have another one that I prefer to carry. I will for sure be using the digital study app often. Thanks for your review. I use the NLT filament app but this CSB app seems to have more in-depth notes.
i hope they start adding digital codes in with more of their bibles. i really enjoy the filament app. i don’t really use the bible that it came with because it’s not my preferred translation but i still use the app a lot. it would be awesome if we could purchase the app separately but i understand why they would want to keep it as bundle. thanks for showing it!
On eBay I was able to purchase a CSB Thinline, Digital Study Edition with Camel colored artificial leather cover with suede texture for $29.16 total. It has a QR code in front to unlock the digital study features. Nice size Bible with a nice font.
Actually as you probably already know, you can actually use the filament app without using the camera or even the filament enabled bible. I just received My purchase of this digital study edition enabled Bible so I can't comment on comparing what study materials you get with the Digital Study Edition but if it truly contains the contents of their CSB study Bible, it would have a great deal of info as I own this Study Bible and it's barely possible for me to lift it with one hand. I own 2 filament Bibles.
The difference is the filament does not include the actual Bible and the digital study edition does. You literally do not need a Bible at all for this one once it is scanned.
thank you for doing this, saw this listed and i am curious as to what it looks like with the study app and all i now have this on my Christmas wishlist
I am still waiting for mine to arrive (that really takes long for Germany). I love the Filament app so I will certainly love this too (by the way you do not need to scan the pages in the Filament app, you can navigate by book and chapter as in any other app as well).
@anickelsworthbiblereviews Yes, that's the one thing I, too, really miss in the Filament app, especially as I need my readigng glasses for the pocket bible I carry with me. I hope they include the written text some day.
Thanks for the review, Tim. Although I'm a NKJV kinda guy, I started reading a Cambridge Diadem CSB this summer and find it to be a very accurate and easy-to-read translation. And so now I understand why the CSB has become so popular. I'm hoping that Cambridge publishes a CSB Topaz in the future as I would really like to a have a larger font, verse-by-verse CSB in my collection. Do you know anybody at Cambridge, Tim? If so, drop a hint for me, OK?
This is an attractive addition with the digital companion resources, but I have this text block in another previous Bible and I just don't like how the text is packed on the page. There's not enough space between the lines, and not enough breaks between the paragraph headings, and it just leads to eye fatigue for me. Yes, The print is large and bold. But it becomes difficult to read because of the layout in my opinion. It may just be me but I have a problem with a lot of dual column Holman Bibles because of this. It's sad because I prefer dual columns, And I would like a CSB with at least a 10-point font in this personal size... I just can't read this text block for more than maybe a half hour before I want to put it away.
The older I get, the more trouble I have with these sorts of issues. I'm in the middle of a Bible reshuffle now, trying to decide what is best for me, moving forward and having to donate Bibles that are not working for me for whatever reason. Thank God that we have so many translations in so many styles/layouts. In many parts of the world, you just have to do the best you can with whatever you have. God has been so gracious to the English speaking world. We are so spoiled!
@Yesica1993 You're right, we have a lot of choice today so I feel bad about complaining, but the issue is exacerbated when I open a Bible by another publisher and it's just so much easier to read. The size of the letters isn't the whole story... It's the way the text is presented on the page. And for me, it's Holman CSB Bibles that I have most of my issues with. You can see it when Tim opens the pages... The text is simply packed in each column and it overwhelms the eye. I just think it's a bad design. And it's frustrating because I would like at least one CSB that I could read forever, because I like the translation. It's worse when I can open up my RSV from 1962 and it has a superior, easier to read layout despite being 60 years old and not having a digital, modern graphic design page.😂
@@caomhan84 Yes, I never realized how different all of that can be. I fairly recently got an ESV Heritage and was amazed at how much easier to read (for me) the single column/black letter and layout is. And I just dropped off at the Post Office my beloved ESV Large Print (8 point) Compact. I could no longer read it comfortably. Hopefully, someone else will make use of it. I recently got the NKJV "baby" Macleran and even though it's smaller, at 7 point, it's SO much clearer! I couldn't believe it.
Fun question my good sir :) Do you know of a bible without references and without footnotes? Just good Oh Gods Word Maybe I can impress my elder and tell him I found one Then I will say nah just playing Brother Tim found it heheh
I think I just found my everyday Bible with the app and larger print and a beautiful color. Thank you Tim for a great review as always.

Thank you, Brother Tim.🌹🌟🔥🌟🌹
I hope they add a audio bible function with the app.
Thanks for the review! I've been wondering about this one. 😊

I like this idea. It seems the best of both worlds.
Still waiting for my review copy to arrive, but other than that, seems like a really awesome Bible! Great job, Holman! 😁
Please Lord Jesus Christ, prosper this apostolate.

I have no influence with Cambridge.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews I was joking (sigh).

I agree. I'm having the same experience trying to read the CSB as you are. @@caomhan84
Agreed. Luckily the single column personal size is very readable.
What is the digital CSB study app? Is it the full study Bible?
Did you happen to watch the video?
No. I’ll go look
