    Hi,
    Is there a way to check the changes made to the groups? For example if I have three owners of the site, I would like to know who has made changes to the groups (such as removing users or changing the access type).
    Thanks a lot

    Nice video! Is it possible to add a red tag „INTERNAL“ to specific folder, which automatically gives the folder a permission level through the tag? In that case externals shouldn’t be allowed to see the folder.

    Thank you for the video because it's easy to follow the steps, but I have a question:
    Is it possible or there is a way to make a rule or permission on a column list (for example let's named it column Hiring Manager inside Applicant list) that when someone has been edited that item in the column, then anyone else couldn't edit that item? But those people were in the same group permission level, just when Manager A have been edited an item on a column, then Manager B should not be able to edit the item that Manager A has edit before

    Hello :) I have created a group called "Sales Representatives" and I need to set this group to only have access to a certain part of the site (for example, they only see part of the menu) and also to ensure that they only have access to certain pages and posts. Is there any way to do this? I need to set up different groups to access different pages within the same site. Please help me

      Yes, it is possible via audience targeting for menu and setting up unique permissions on pages

    Hi, thanks for this great video. I have a quick question:
    In your another post - SharePoint Permission Levels explained, you mentioned this "Best Practice # 2: Never, ever roll out sites or subsites with default “Edit” permission level."
    In a way, you are implying we need to always create custom permission level to replace that "powerful" edit permission level? Just try to understand this a little better.
    Looking ahead your reply and thanks in advance!

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, The post you reference was written a long time ago and no longer relevant. The new best practice is to use default Edit permission level

    Hi SharePoint Maven.
    I have a question regarding item level permission and already existing groups in SharePoint. The situation is as described below. I have 4 users ex. Tom, Marry, John, Jack. Earlier I created to groups A(Tom, Marry) and B(John, Jack), those 2 groups uses 1 list, and I what I want is to allow Merry to have permission to Items created by Tom, but she couldn’t see items created by group B (John, Jack). Is it possible to achieve this?

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can only do so by manually setting up security on each row: th-cam.com/video/mqY4bsc3jy4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DQigzsMU4lchTR-d

    Hello, I have a question, is there a way that I could allow members from a Team Site to manage completely the lists and documents but not allow them to edit the page and webparts? What I've come to realize so far is that the Edit Items permission allows to edit all (lists, libraries, including web parts)

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is a way. You would need to create unique permissions for the pages. sharepointmaven.com/how-to-prevent-team-site-members-from-editing-sharepoint-pages/

    Thank you for the video! I'm having an issue and wonder if anyone else is running into this. When I create a clone of the Edit permission level and apply the new permission level to the Members group on a Communication site (like in your example), the Share option for a file in any of the site's document libraries breaks, and all the options are grayed out. If I apply the Edit permission again, sharing works again. All other sharing/link sharing options remain unchanged. I've tested this in a couple of different tenants and ran into the same issue in both cases. Seems like a SP bug/feature. Is anyone else experiencing this and know a workaround/fix?

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never tested this scenario so hard for me to provide guidance on it. If you just create a copy of the Edit permission level and do not uncheck any boxes, in theory, should not matter... But perhaps SP thinks you are deviating from OOTB so maybe it behaves like that?
