I can't find any either, weird line betting small on the river, felt like MAYBE he was trying to induce a light raise but when he shoves like you said a straight and trips should never be re shoving there, looks like a good disciplined fold to me. Very enjoyable vlog, you got a new subscriber!
A "Heat Check" is a basketball term that occurs when a player makes 2 good shots in a row. Then, the next time on offense, they have the freedom to take a deeper shot or less than optimal shot, to see if they are on fire. Which means the player was opening a wider range after winning a few pots. Good shove Ash 💯

Fresh, insightful, meaningful content that has already helped my game. Absolutely love it. Hooked. Takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there like you do Ashley.
I like the way you played the KJ(d) hand. Personally, I don't think that's a mandatory 3-bet (preflop) unless you had awful position. But, you had the button, 50 bb's, and every step of the way were getting incredible pot-odds.
I think I would have called with the flush mainly because your hand was very hidden. He could have been pushing with an over pair or AQ of clubs with a front door flush draw and hit the Q on the river.
totally would have called with that hand. I would have tanked for a bit, but ultimately would have been able to say I DIED with a flush vs. getting bled out and going all in with much weaker draws at the end.
Understand your point but why would BB risk all the chips 115K on the wet board when he put 14K in the pot and he's got 57BBs behind. He can easily have 85 of spades/diamonds pocket 44 55 . The one thing I dont agree is that he had overpair there. He was on the BB almost always 3 betting and if he decide to slowplay he is not showing on the river with AA after facing 4x raise ... only overpair he can have there is QQ which I think he is 3betting preflop . I dont think he is shoving the river with AQ either. But of course it depends on the type of player if he is maniak he could have J10 of clubs there 🙃 just my opinion
Not sure if you have a betting/3 betting range in the sb but K6 suited is a really great raise or 3bet hand that balances out your value raises. You’re blocking a bunch and have fairly straightforward playability on most boards as middling cards hit your range to continuation bet and tell a story and anything with a king or flush gin. I think you’re leaving value on the table by not acting more aggressive pre
Enjoying your vlogs, just found your channel. I just got back from vegas for my 50th bday. I always wanted to play at a vegas Texas hold ‘em table. I joined the two small tables at the Delano and after two nights came home with $500. It was so exciting!!!!

Great result. I would not have been able to get away from the flush. It sucks when you have them on the rails and they hit. Had this myself this week AK vs KQ they hit a queen
On day 2, A9 is a CALL on the river, as played. The guy checked the king on the flop, checked the flush on the turn, and then bets a 7 on the river? I would have made a bet on the turn even when the flush came in to see where I’m at. If I got raised I would have folded. If I got called, I would check back the river
First time catching your blog, thoroughly enjoyed it, so am a new subscriber. As a female rec player, it was refreshing to see that your entire blog was about POKER, YAY! Congrats making the $, looking forward to more vlogs.
That bad beat with AK vs AJ was brutal and decissive, about 97 suited it s very hard decission, maybe he have pocket QQ or another full house after that small value bet after the river!
With the k6 hand it’s a little crazy you 1. think the buttons bet was weird that it was so big given you’re multi-way… you want to size up sometimes because you need your bet get through so many people… betting small multi-way (unless you have the nuts) is not great. 2. Being afraid of him hitting something on the river when you have the boat is something you need to work on and get over as that fear is causing you to lose a lot of ev… you want him to have two pair or maybe a flush draw and then either call or reraise small to price him in. What are you scared of? You don’t think he has pocket kings or you would not have bet. But the only other options are kq and you’re afraid another king or queen comes on the river… so one possible king and two queens… otherwise you can’t be beat. You’ve got a monster hand here and there was zero reason you needed to be scared of monsters under the bed.
I think the KJ diamonds hard to put you on flush with your passive line in position. With a 4 liner I think you could have got more value for sure he probably can put you on a straight
Any chart you’re looking at that says to rip in 50 bbs with kjs against two other players with 50bbs is a chart you should toss. 3 bet yes, all day against a hj raise and co call…. But just calling gives a great price for the blinds to hang around or 3bet (which isn’t ideal). The flop call is fine but betting more often is likely better as you’re building the pot, representing the ace, flush, or two pair so you can take a stab at it even if you miss the flush. Consider more than just what you have but your range at that point and then bet or check. Would you check with two pair or aces? The hj turn bet is so small it feels like a weird value bet to have with a bunch of draws out there but calling the turn is fine because you checked the flop. Not sure what you did on the river yet but if it’s checked to you I’d overbet the pot, maybe 20k… and if it’s bet I’d reraise and if they have the straight flush then so be it.
I’ve played a couple of tournaments where I’ve played off a huge stack. It’s a sick, gross feeling. But that’s tournaments. At least you came back and cashed.

Counterfeited 45, hand that blocks full houses is the only bluff i can see there. If he indeed has a bluff with a little showdown value, the 5k bet can serve as a block bet to set cheap price for showdown. Raising here means almost always a flush, so i can totally see him having 54 and i actually think with a boat he would choose larger sizing, as the queen, especially of hearts hits your range much more than his, which is the main reason, why personally i would call, but i specialize on deepstack cashgames and have no clue about tournament play.
Great video loved the opening scene I think you should have called his bluff with the flush tho other then that good luck at the tables and keep up the great content
Hi Ashley, brand new sub to your channel because well: you ENGAGED and entertained me! Not a big fan of tourney poker myself, more of a cash game player, but your hand captures and commentary were excellent, kept me rivetted throughout, and found myself rooting hard for you. I don't like the raise with 97 hearts. You only get called by a better hand and you set yourself up for exactly what happened. Paired board and only 5th best flush and lose to boats of course. I think a call would have been best with that hand. Good job overall and keep it up.
I agree but mainly because of how deep they were, raising 97 suited to apply pressure to shorter stacks is fine. Also it narrows their range of calling hands. Main problem is reraising on the river, not knowing what is you’re targeting, and not having a plan for a potential shove
I really enjoy, but have to stick in my pet peeve. When two things oppose each other, it’s the two-syllable word “versus”, like Row versus Wade. The single syllable “verse” is a section of a song or poem. Good luck and all the best to you.
Can I just say, I hear this a lot on vlogs, that whenever you have AA or KK with 10bb or less, it seems "too obvious" to min-raise, in reality a lot of people are just looking at their cards, and often can't count chips, or not even paying attention to who opened. Even when they know you are short, they cannot help themselves, because most recs wants to see a flop. I always just open with these hands like normal and they fall for it everytime. There is no real value in open jamming.
I think he had the nuts in the form of pocket 4s or 5s and he was trapping you with a set until the turn card made his hand unbeatable. He then opted not to re-raise you at the turn knowing you will bet on the river and re-raise you then. I think, Great fold. Well done.

The amount of chips you would have to risk to an all in versus just loosing to a fold, plus surviving to reach the final table is not worth going for value at that point.
@@j.moralessandoval3210 she had the flush. That’s good for her he went all in. Pedro is right, if she wasn’t willing to go all in, just call, don’t raise big. Nice fold on the flush hand he definitely had you beat in that spot the only wierd thing is if he had such a strong hand why such a small bet on the river.. I've heard of inducing but that's just ridiculous 🤣
Just came across your channel. Love it! Would have loved it more, if you hadn't raised the guy's bet when you had the heart flush and had just called. He could have bought one off of you there. If not, and you just called, you would have still been better off, as you wouldn't have lost the chips you raised with. 💯
