Another thing I noticed ... in the real world this 310kw beast isn't much quicker to 100kph then a VF SS with "just 260kw.. 5.56 seconds is pretty slow and that's the times most people will get as they won't be at the traffic lights with their foot floored and the engine revving off its head ...
I mean agreeable about the launch control thing, but in the old one I became very good at timing it, and this one is even easier and quicker to engage. Also, you'll notice cars kind of hit a peak kw to 0-100 ratio. Then you need a lot more kw to cut down even a quarter of a second. Also, the car weighs quite a bit lol Also the vf series 1 had 270kw, (for the manual, at least according to car sales) the series 2 had 304kw, and without launch control it was just as bad at being considerably off its claimed 0-100. I think the best ever recorded by those car magazines was about 4.9. and that was with launch. Even on this channel it was in the 5s. So not sure how close the 6.0 260/270kw one would be to this car. Pro tip - find a car you like that's quick and doesn't have launch control, much more likely to get the claimed time without brake boosting lol
@@brandonczw So is the old one. Yet everytime I launched it, all I got was wheel spin. It was a huge problem and one of the reasons I got rid of it. The internet is rife with people who had tonnes of problems with it. That and it's damned quality control issues.
@@brandonczw I might mention that this one uses the same AWD system as the A45s, the 4matic plus. Which is far superior to the old GLA 45's system which used a very basic one that only engaged the rear axle after front wheel slip was detected. In "race" mode it was meant to automatically send power to the rear wheels from a launch, but it still only happened after the wheels slipped substantially! Then it would automatically disable the AWD system to stop it from overheating and wouldn't let you launch it again for a few minutes. Terrible system. I went from a mechanically controlled full-time AWD system in my Audi A6 Bi turbo, to that lackluster one, I regretted my decision. Now I have a RWD diesel BMW and like for like it's as quick as my AMG right up until 90k an hour. 😅

Hurray, finally waited for AMG in your tests !! Definitely like, thanks !!
I can't believe the state of those bottom leather seat bolsters (at 1:50) in a near-new car!
Shit, good pick-up man that's bad !! It's creasing already !
Made from the finest Thai cows
I can't believe that little turd is nearly 2 tons
In the words of Ian Malcolm - “that’s one big pile of shit”
As if the housewives give a shit
That car weighs depending on the kit around 1550 kg.
It's a high-performance car that you can't think of as a 2L!
310kws in a four banger is astonishing
This will sound 100% better in a Lotus Emira
100% more than 0 is still 0
@@Kr0nicridah stick with your Corolla. Obviously you've never experienced the symphony of a Lotus 4-cylinder 😃

Dream car
Do you know if the new 2023 models have the driftmode? Like the CLA or A45
Can't get my head around the power output of this 2 litre engine. But will it last?
Knowing Mercedes, probably not
It's designed to fall apart at the same time the warranty expires like most new cars.
The initial take off from stand still, was that lag or something else? Seem take a second or 2 before much actually happened
Yeah turob lag, small 2 litre engine to spool a big turbo will take a bit, especially if its pumping out 30psi
It's pretty slow off the line but the braking performance is impressive.
The old one was the same, unless you were using launch control. I do appreciate that this one doesn't have the insane wheel slip from a launch though.
@@asum307 Well it is AWD so traction is not really an issue

My mum currently owns a 2014 Holden Captiva, but she says she's planning to own one of these by 2022.
Nice choice it's a beast😍
From one shit box to another hey.
That's amazing a 2014 craptiva and it's still running
Yep, I must admit, the captiva wasn't the best choice.
@@MrFister84 whats shit about this thing? The fact that its faster than your civic?
Do not be fooled the engine will not last with such heat buildup.
I'd want more for $130k on road. Like a M340i or X3 M40i with the amazing B58 engine. Could save $50k and get X2 M35i.
It’s like 60k but ok
Rsq3 over this for the sound of that 5 pot alone
Dispense with hyperbole and please identify the mid-size suv's with similar weight and performance. There are none. At least not in US.

Wayyyy to much power for a 2 litre 4 cylinder . Reliability over time is probably going to be shit .. engine to High-strung
A real beast nonetheless
It's a Mercedes, unreliable is a given no matter the engine.
Only time will tell.
without launch control (most common situation day to day), both ioniq 5 and xc40 is faster accelerating. WOW
This car doesn’t look appealing to me, the Rs q3 looks way better

No manual unfortunately

Probably the diesel? Mazda diesel is shit and petrol great
About 100 KW too much for Australian roads. More pointless crap you can never use properly outside of an Autobahn
I'd rather have a much slower evoque than this of somewhat hatchback minivan looking car. Sad it's called an amg
